It is 4GB! My laptop is considerably smoother now. Huge improvement! I originally had 2GB of RAM. I am running Windows 7 64bit. My laptop is a Lenovo Thinkpad T60p. Ahead of my laptop was crawling, now it is Running. Extremely satisfied with the memory upgrade. See my cons and other thoughts. Previously I had purchased GSkill RAM for a desktop I was developing. One of the pins was badly damaged. The golden surface of the pin was completely missing. So I took the threat this time and bought GSkill RAM for my laptop. As soon as I got the package, I inspected it for bad/damaged pins. I observed that that 2 pins had been getting bridged with each other by a thin strip of gold. So I utilized my nail to attempt and take away the strip. I was capable to eliminate it and it worked. I ran my nail up and down between the 2 pins that were being bridged to destroy the bridge. I ran a memtest last evening. I got halfway completed with the test so I was satisfied. There had been no errors in memtest. If I hadn't inspected it, I would've possibly gotten a lot of errors with the two pins getting bridged. This is why I took off 1 egg. Poor quality control. Any individual who buys GSkill RAM should check the pins at diverse angles to see if the pins are damaged or bridged. I had to angle my RAM to see the bridge. For these who are saying they only have 3GB, this is due to the fact you have a 32bit Windows OS. You want a 64bit Windows OS to see all the 4GB. This is a limitation of Windows, not the RAM. (I'm not confident if 32bit Linux does the same.)Also, for these who are making use of Windows 64bit, you need to be fine in disabling the page file. The page file is virtual memory and it is stored on the HDD. It is risk-free to disable it if you have 4GB or much more RAM. Otherwise Windows might still use the page file and your computer system won't be as rapidly as it can. HDD is substantially slower than RAM so if you have 4GB or more disable the web page file. Google search disabling page file to understand how to do it. Manufacturer Response:.Dear ClientThank you for your G.Ability purchase. We are sorry to hear the modules you received had been slightly off. That is really odd, but glad to hear anything is operating just fine. Ideal match for each of my laptops, dropped two modules in every single to max ram capacity to 4 gigs in my Acer and Dell laptops and now both have genuinely enhanced in performance. Not a one. Fantastic worth, super efficiency for four gigs of ram. I began using G.Ability in my pc and now in my laptops, they have turn into my only option when I get ram modules.

dropped in fine, no problems whatsoever. Memory is limited in Mac Mini although (see beneath) but it's better than doing a 2gb + 1gb. Mac Mini memory is restricted to 3 gigs. Kinda sucks but that's apple's fault.Mac Mini is a pain to crack open to install memory, but once you do it a couple times it's not that tricky. very good upgrade.

Basic install. Popped it in, win7 64 recognized it quickly. Performs like a champ. ็ for 4 gigs, that's ฝ.75 a gig. Not negative. None so far. I used to be apprehensive with G.Skill (I used to use Kingston, then Corsair, then Essential), but reputation and good friends' testimonials led me to buy this, and I have no regrets.

Price tag In two seperate laptops I bought four gigs of this for each and every one particular, somehow it's not permitting either a single to use sleep or hibernate modes, removed them and place the original 2 gigs back in which take place to be G-Ability also, and wammo back to typical, I can't think about both sets of these getting negative. Both laptops running updated and patched versions of Windows 7 Ultimate, may well have to attempt a unique brand of ram and see what happens, I normally have great luck with G-Ability. Manufacturer Response:.Dear ConsumerWe are sorry to hear you are obtaining a challenge. Because it appears to be a compatibility issue, you could want to try a various model such as the G.Ability F2-5300CL4D-4GBSQ. Or try updating the BIOS to see if that aids. This was Bought for a Toshiba Satellite A215 series laptop. Worked properly and happy with the overall performance (see other thoughts). None - Cost was correct. This laptop originally had a bios version of 1.30, upon installing the new G.Skill ram the machine would not let me into the bios (f2 and f12 alternatives not accessible) nor would the OS load. Pc would boot by way of bios, but leave me at a blinking cursor in upper left corner, unable to boot to CD, USB, or HD. Updated the bios to the latest version for the laptop ƒ.?), employing the original ram, once confirmed bios operating properly, reinstalled the new G.ability ram. Bios behaved appropriately (F2 and F12 choices readily available once again). Ran 8 hours on memtest with out any difficulties - Also boots to the OS with out any issues. For Toshiba owners - make certain you have the most recent bios, and it could still be a gamble by not running the Toshiba perfer'd Kingston brand. Well worth the savings in this case with an great outcome.

This was the final step soon after upgrading my cpu from a T2330 to T7250 Intel. I purchased the laptop in 2007 with the the entry level configuration because of price. None correct now. Like the title says, very first element DOA, second stick progressively failed. Story: Ordered 4 GB's of memory for my Lenovo T-61, the very first stick locked up the computer, no BIOS screen, no beep. When I removed it, the laptop or computer booted up fine. Put the memory into a MBP Intel Core Duo that was compatible just to test it. Also, no boot whatsoever. Sent it back to Newegg, but kept the second stick with the original memory. Newegg wouldn't take it, saying I necessary to send them the second stick. I was on a company trip and couldn't be bothered to send it back, so they canceled the RMA.
