Remarkable features NONE The problem with it not booting off cd/dvd rom drives is cuz in the bios beneath the 3rd category(i consider is typical some thing) there is a selection about Halt for errors, effectively the default is keyboard, thats why it dont boot, you want to adjust that to mouse. Then after u hit the function key that saves, your personal computer will restart and then itll ask u to press any crucial to boot off cd/dvd rom. Make sure below the boot order, you have it set so one of those options is cd/dvd rom drive if u want it to boot off a cd/dvd.

Q6600 16gb G-Skill 1333 ram. Tested operating systems= win 2003, 2008R2sp1, 7Ultimate x64Sp1, Ubuntu desktop, Mac Snow Leopard, presently running win 2008sp2 x64. All appears fine when it IS operating. From day 1 it has difficulty of shutting off for no reason. Partial shutdown case fans video fan cpu fan all operating, anything else dead no video no way to wake it up. Only way to boot back up is power supply toggle off/on,then it runs fine till "blink" does it again no set time or cause just goes dead from time to time about twice everyday. Tried each test feasible absolutely nothing located. Contacted giga tech support = no help.**Warning** the default bios settings are all overclocked I assume in order to make it appear more quickly than it is? The ram setting of turbo = overclocked. The board reported the cpu as two.4ghz but the actual globe setting via the auto select was operating it at 3.0ghz. Reports the cpu temp at 25-28c for a recognized processor that runs at an common of 50c.Video channel freaks out when set for monitor=off power saving. Attempted a number of ati/nivdia cards all the identical. Ordered replacement board hoping it is not a style fault, as it is the least costly thing to try for testing gaw. bought this board so i could use my Q6600(B3) with ddr3 ram, worked great appropriate off the bat and it was really easy to OC my cpu to 3.1ghz(decent for a B3 on air).the F3-10666CL8D-4GBHK i bought for it worked wonderful tho i had to set the timings manually. the northbridge heatsink is touching one particular of the heatpipes on my Hyper 212+ i noticed that half the critiques for this board had been DOA or not operating right, but givin the other offerings on newegg this was the very best choice so i took a opportunity, im not disapointed at all, this board has so far been extreemly stable even with my cpu overclocked a decent amount.

Affordable, has what i need to have but none of it functions. Identical issue a lot of other individuals have with gigabyte boards, plug it in, board powers up for a second then powers down and loops till you power off the PSU. I tried anything, new power provide, new CPU, new ram, took it out of the case, absolutely nothing solved the difficulty. Was going to replace it with a P55 Gigabyte board, but reading the evaluations there it looks like 10-15% of folks have the same problem! I'm not prepared to take the risk of receiving one more 1 of these poor boards, Thats unacceptable. Going to try ASUS. Manufacturer Response:Thank you for your comments. Price.Comes with a serial port.Efficiency. Provides the 775 Core 2 line a DDR3 board that nonetheless prove those line of processors are far from dead.I like Gigabyte's mobo's much better than any other brand I have utilized and all of them I have employed function flawlessly and are incredibly stable. This board does perform fine now. Equivalent experiences to what other posters have described. Luckily for me a I was able to get this mobo to perform, but not until after investing numerous hours of work, so this board was a bit of a let down. At this time I don't feel I have poor board, but it does have some problems I've not seen ahead of. I have a challenging time believing that wireless USB keyboard could trigger this much of a problem (See Below). I'm nonetheless not specific what voodoo I did to get it to POST appropriately. I paired it with some Corsair Ultra Stable memory 2X2gig and a Q8300 proc. Memory wasn't on the official memory chart, but I've in no way had any issues with Corsair ram operating on any mobo I have utilised. The memory does perform with this board.Trying every thing you can feel off, such as each and every BIOS posted on Gigabyte's web site. I nonetheless encounter the same issues: Not posting. looping, having to punch the reset button till i could get to the CMOS screen. I had been working with a wireless keyboard and mouse set. The keyboard would not function after awhile, so I switched to a PS2 keyboard that I use at times for just setting systems up when all of a sudden my POST'ing problems disappeared.Soon after establishing that it does indeed POST normally, I went into the CMOS Screen and noticed that all the USB ports were disabled. I turned them on in order to use my mouse, and presto! every thing was operating standard.

This board was prepared to roll appropriate from the box. I paired this up with an Intel Q9400 quad core and 16GB of G. Skill Sniper 1333 ram. I played with the intelligent tweaker to OC my CPU a little and was amazed at the amount of alternatives you have. I've got lots of reading to do now! Location of CPU fan power connector is suitable on the side of the board. I put a Zalman cooler on this and it's difficult to reach the connector when the board is in the case. Northbridge heat sink was not seated nicely and moves easily. I'll have to take it off and reapply some Artic Silver to it I guess.

None The board just did'nt want to work, it would start to post and then it would restart. I tried all the tricks from Neweggs reviewers as well as Gigabytes forums with no luck. Also if you have a lengthy pcie 1 card like a Hauppauge HVR-2250 tuner card it won't fit due to the fact it'll hit the ram. I ordered the ASRock P43DE3 LGA 775 Intel P43 ATX Intel Motherboard last night, hopefully it will function far better. Manufacturer Response:Thank you for your comments. Only 775 MB with DDR3 and 6 SATA on the industry Appears to have manufacturing troubles Other posters have had this very same issue, where it cycles on and off soon after post, never ever receiving to an OS load. I tried several processors and Ram sticks/configurations. Since of it's uniqueness, I'm ordering an additional one and hoping I just got a defective board. Hopefully it will function.

Did every thing I expected it to, and it came working out of the box. If you don't get a DOA this motherboard is great for men and women seeking for quicker memory on an older socket like me! Really great board for the cost, genuinely like the selection to upgrade memory even further. It also overclocks to a decent degree! Just don't install the stupid programs that come with it due to the fact they're kind of stupid and useless (especially the software overclocker). See my rig specs in other thoughts. 1 slot on my SD card reader started refusing to read cards making use of this mobo but that might just be the card reader acquiring old, since all the other ones work (and they all use the very same usb plug to the motherboard). Comes with SATA CablesHas a nice box Extremely strange design, Fan is always knicking first slot of ramThe backboard of the motherboard looks like some chinese factory produced it out of stamped sheet metal. What else can I say? it's a great motherboard for DDR3 Ram, but difficult to get it worked up.

- Overclocks my Q6600 G0 from 2.4Gigz to three.4Gigz- Running smoothly on Corsair DDR3 1333Mhz Ram- PciE 1x is on the LEFT side of the PCIEx16 slot so it's in fact useable and not blocked by the graphics card. - 6 sata connections! With Intel's Rapid Storage Technologies driver you can make sata hotswappable. A big PLUS given that you can either install an eSata bracket or if you have a case with Esata port, or HDD docking station. Tried to install Win 7 64bit through installation CD but it will not boot the CD. The dilemma is the driver of usb keyboard. It recognizes it in the course of the very first few secs of POST with the Gigabyte Logo, but immediately after the system tries to Boot with the CDROM it stops detecting the keyboard. It says " Press any key to boot from CD..." yet it can't recognize any keys you press on the keyboard. Surely a driver issue. I managed to install Windows 7 because after performing Various Windows 7 repairs it in fact booted from my difficult drive that had a prior Win7 64-bit installation from my previous ASUS motherboard( which had a completely distinct chipset -- G41/ICH7). Device manager showed all unrecognized drivers, but it didn't matter because from there I was able to do a clean installation of Windows 7 inside the GUI--even much better since it can download drivers through my internet connection. Now my system is up and running overclocked, and will do for me a couple of much more years until the next upgrade :)
