GIGABYTE GeForce GT 220 GV-N220OC-1GI Video Card

Affordable. Worked out of box. This card did not do what I wanted it to do. Anticipate consistant freezing and crashing when operating games, lockups when making use of Windows Media Center. Even Firefox was crashing under this card's power. New program. i7 920, 6gb OCZ Platinum, MSI 58M. Windows 7 x64.

GIGABYTE GeForce GT 220 GV-N220OC-1GI Video Card
Comment:
Utilized this card for my Mythbuntu 9.10 install. Gorgeous, smooth HD playback more than HDMI for 1080i멨p HDHomeRun recordings and 1080p mkv files. * Manually installed the 190.42 nvidia driver, as that wasn't packaged with Mythbuntu. * Has a fan. I usually don't like moving parts for my HTPC, but it's quiet - I don't notice it at all.* The manual I received was very generic and didn't seem to apply to this card, but installing video cards is trivial: 1) plug it in two) connect the monitor This guide was extremely beneficial on how to get the manually installed driver to automatically recompile when the kernel updates: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t

GIGABYTE GeForce GT 220 GV-N220OC-1GI Video Card
Comment:
Don't own the card but was searching at it for a personal computer I am throwing together out of mostly old parts for my mom. I read reviews but I discover it hard to fully grasp why an individual would spend (last October) over 跌 for a CPU, more than 赨 for a motherboard, more than 赨 for memory, and then puts this graphics card in and complains. Appears to me, kind of like questioning why your new 18' bass boat won't plane with a electric trolling motor. No cons, once again don't own, but I wouldn't let either of the poor reviews on this card scare me away.

GIGABYTE GeForce GT 220 GV-N220OC-1GI Video Card
Comment:
this was a extremely decent improvement from my prior card 񣰘GT)! Worked with out fail out of the box and hasn't stopped considering that I installed it. My score in Windows 7 (on the graphics side) went from 6.6 to 7.five =))I'd have to say, if your looking for a superior budget card, you can count on this one. Doesn't support SLI =(( not actually a con, but it would have been good. Bought this to replace my old 8600 GT soon after it stopped being a decent card (since I have changed games I like). I couldn't be happier with this in expensive remedy.

nice size, quiet fan, as quickly as my old 8800GTS Brought on my machine to randomly crash four-five times per day.
