GIGABYTE Radeon HD 5830 GV-R583UD-1GD Video Card
Comment:
Card was well priced. From day 1 the card was crashing out. I figured it was the game I was playing as it was a newer one that had memory leaking problems and ignored it and continued to use it. The crashing was only a minor annoyance when you boot speedily and you're playing a single player game. Now it crashes (vertical bars across both monitors or black screen) on all games. It's far past the return policy and I would like nothing greater than to get rid of it. This is also my final ATI card. I can't say when I've been far more disappointed in a item. I don't even want to RMA it simply because the last thing I want is another a single. Manufacturer Response:Dear Client,Thank you for your comments. Price. Very low cost card for what it is supposed to do. Effortlessly fits into a mid situation. In contrast to some of the other reviewers, I don't see a issue with the size at all. Drivers? - LaughableSupport? - LaughableMy card was broken when I got it. Semi-continual flickering bars across my screen. Incredibly low FPS in games with any sort of mediocre intense graphics at all. Sent the pile back to newegg, for which I am most grateful that I do not have to deal with Gigabyte. save your receipt.

I have owned this card four months and the 1st two months the card worked flawless. Switching to dual monitor started out the downfall. As previously stated I am getting tearing, random colored dots, blue screens along with driver not responding errors. This card has by no means been overclocked and in no way utilized Overdrive. Once this situation started I was also receiving these difficulties in single monitor mode. I contacted Gigabyte assistance along with Newegg and received the needed bios upgrade. This did not repair the situation. Gigabyte even approved an RMA and I sent the card to get 'repaired'. The turnaround was essentially pretty rapid - 3 weeks. I removed all prior ATI drivers and CCC. I placed the card in my Computer and I got BSOD upon start-up. Booted in secure mode and did a proper shutdown. Effectively got back into windows and updated all drivers and CCC. Tested dual monitor right away. Principal display by way of DVI and second display via HDMI to HDTV. World wide web streaming was OK but then I streamed Netflix and got instant tearing along horizontal bars scrolling across the screen. I disabled dual monitors and I got an additional BSOD. At the moment undecided if I genuinely want to try to repair or just obtain a diverse card. Manufacturer Response:Dear Customer,Thank you for your comments. worked straight out of the box, ten.7 drivers function ideal. this monster is a whopping 12inches extended and doesn't let you forget it. for getting a tiny brother to the 5850 and the 5870, it's mature sufficient to deal with todays most power hungry games. doesn't spend the bills. fans preserve the gpu fairly cool, you will need fantastic airflow or it will just throw hell everywhere. wouldn't suggest crossfire with this guy, get a thing that vents out the back.

For those who cant update to the Ati ten.four drivers for this card I did it and this is what i did go to the gigabyte web site and flash the cards bios which is now f4 . Yes graphics cards have a bios to most individuals dont know that. as soon as I flashed the card to bios version f4 . I dloaded Ati ten.4 drivers and they work in my cpu with no errors .. It worked for me Its up to you to attempt .. just the drivers complications . Still a great card tho . Folks really should not give the card a lower rating because of atis poor drivers its not gigabytes fault..

The card runs beautifully on my Ubuntu box. This card is fully incompatible with an ASUS M3N72-D motherboard. Even immediately after updating to the most recent BIOS and talking at length with tech help, the card wasn't even recognized as present by the board. Each ASUS and Gigabyte tech assured me there were no compatibility problems and that there should be a problem on the card given that my old GeForce 9800 worked just fine when reinstalled. So I got an RMA carried out. Props to Newegg for their amazing RMA service. New card arrived right now, identical outcome when installed. two eggs for the card working good in a different machine but becoming incompatible with my current hardware in spite of reassurances of compatibility by both Gigabyte and ASUS tech.

GIGABYTE Radeon HD 5830 GV-R583UD-1GD Video Card
Comment:
I purchased this card as a replacement for my negative HIS 4890 and have been totally satisfied with it so far.I have it overclocked at 850c񳀼m with the fan set at 100% (ATI 10.2 Driver version)Max temp following 2 hours of gaming is about 57cIts heat sink layout and fan layout are the best in its class by far. Partially mainly because of how the fans are tilted to enable more air flow and partially simply because of the really low noise they create. My 4890 at 100% fan speed was at least twice as lowed and could only be overclocked slightly. ATI 10.4 drivers don't function as they are suppose to with this card. Keep receiving an error whilst trying to install them and the install doesnt finish. I have read other forums that state this identical point. As soon as ATI fixes the driver concerns this card will be rollin!

Very good make good quality, 256-bit memory path, quite quickly for its price tag, can be crossfired, runs cool none I haven't had any problems whatsoever with this card and would get again or recommend to a buddy without having hesitation. The ATI drivers can be a bit of a issue at instances, even though. I do not recommend updating to the newest driver everytime 1 of them comes out. In some circumstances, I have had to revert to a earlier driver to have complete driver stability. Not a huge deal but updating the driver is not usually the ideal factor to do.I run mainly older games, so in all probability do not tax the abilities of this card. Screen is beautiful and frame rates are very high. Have Crysis but favor older games to it. Crysis runs fairly well, although, and looks terrific. I upgraded from Cross-fired HD3850s and this card is really a bit faster.

Excellent cards for the price I got them at. Even with the entire new fan design, the cards don't have quite fantastic air flow when operating CrossFireX. If you have a very good case developed for getting several video cards they might work far better, but the way the cards are developed they don't have very fantastic airflow when running CFX. I was running a Geforce GTX 260鴘), and in some benchmarks this card ran better but when it came to physics the card had some troubles.

GIGABYTE Radeon HD 5830 GV-R583UD-1GD Video Card
Comment:
I was initially hesitant to buy this card because of a number of driver concerns I've read about on internet websites like this one particular. I was also doubtful as to no matter if or not the 5830 exhibit a adequate performance increase over the 4870 to justify the fifty to sixty dollar price tag differential current in between the two. Consequently, I did some study and determined two items. Firstly, even though problems with the catalyst drivers that power the 5830 appear to have been pretty prominent in the days and weeks susbsequent its initial release, most if not all of these difficulties have given that been adequately addressed by ATI. Two:not only does the 5830 possess a considerable performance edge more than the 4870 and 4890 according to many benchmark assessments, it also runs cooler and has DX11 compatibility. This specific 5830 is particularly cool since its dual fan/copper pipe heat remedy enables for maximum overclockabilitiy. A cautious overclocker myself I presently have the gpu tuned to 900mhz and the... GDDR5 set to 1100mhz. Even at these speeds the card is practically silent. For anybody contemplating between this card and the Nvidia GTX 260 or 275. Stop wasting your time and buy this card whilst its nonetheless in stock. Its superiority is unquestionable based on just about every stock comparison I've noticed. Nor am I a diehard ATI fan. I care purely about finding the finest value for my dollars. But when a person tends to make a good card and saves you the frustration of sending it back to the dealer only to wait weeks for a replacement, I think its appropriate commend that somebody for undertaking so. Regardless of this cards good quality if you have the wherewithall to obtain the 5850 I say do it. From almost everything I've heard and read its a stellar card and quickly worth the dollars. Sadly I'm on a limited spending budget. I've observed a number of complaints about the size of this card which seem to me to be unwarranted. I have a typical ATX size case with a number of challenging drives installed and had no difficulty installing the 5830. So unless each difficult drive bay in your case is occupied I would venture to guess that your case can handle it. PS: Gigabite supplies a single crossfireX connector with the card as well as several other basic accessories.

this card is built with a quite high high quality from gigabyte, dual fan and copper cooling system is wonderful and you can tell there has been an actual plan and design to cool in the finest way attainable. with ATI catalyst overdrive it's uncomplicated to overclock memory and gpu to the 5870 specs and far more. but you are spending half price tag. yes you do have 1120 stream processor vs 1600, which is a best 30% less, but 50% much less funds!your Computer will not always really feel the distinction. As a result 赨 IS A STEAL, obtain it if you want far more for your income, 2 of this in crossfire..identical price tag of the 5870 will carry out significantly superior..as for the "Nvidia folks", the spec of the new Fermi does not go close to this a single, u can argue about the driver, but those persons that provides negative critique does not even know to uninstall prior drivers!!update bios, defrag hard drive and so on..when it comes to Computer, you need to do your homework and know what U are performing, otherwise spend a person else to do it instead! far cry2,CoD5,Crysis Amazing! this card does not have cons.. when your case it too small to fit the card, which is long and major, it's not the card fault, but yours and of the case. Psu connectors are on the Side instead at the end so you will be in a position to use those cable in a mid tower, u may have to relocate the difficult drives in a distinct hard drives bay = typical, it's not a reason to give a negative assessment, you're opening and making your rig nice and strong, so that is what you do, open your case and install your stuffs= normal (u want to modify your automobile engine: u will need to open the hood and move parts about, correct?!?!) you will will need a potent power provide of course, not lower the 650 watts, preferably with 2 dedicated cables for the graphic card. update your motherboard bios very first, cancel each and every earlier graphic cards driver, ideally a fresh installation of the OS, go to AMD/Ati internet site Download the new 10.7 drivers, if Nvidia chipset, which is a competitor of amd, is not compatible somehow, what r u expecting??! the card itself is good, if u don't know what u r doing, u could have some troubles, but that will take place with anything u do inside a Pc, and it is not the hardware fault, is largely the OS, u constantly need to tune up your software and find a way to make every little thing perform ok. Now I've install this in both Win XP and Win 7 ultimate 64, with no problems, I've a MSI 790 GX,Amd x4 620,4gb hyperX DDR3 1600,2WD 500Gb,it took a handful of attempts of turning the Pc on, following disabling the on board graphic from the bios, but I had a new PSU + old hard drive eide failed, so that was not the card faults, bench marked it and overclocked without having no dilemma, the graphic looks wonderful, I had blu ray playing on my LED Tv, and my viewsonic monitor at the exact same time, amazing! if you have a handful of years old card, this will be blowing your mind with directx11, but greater have windows 7 to truly delight in it. Anyway if you have a three+ years old computer system, superior upgrade anything, or just stick with the5770 till u can upgrade

For the ~赨 cost point there is no far better card than the 5830. I'm not going to bore you with efficiency because all 5830s carry out the identical, but it's extremely good. GIGABYTE's version of the 5830 is almost certainly one particular of the best.In my Antec 900 the card doesn't go significantly beyond 43C even during lengthy gaming sessions. The cooling is amazing, the card is quiet, and for what it's worth, the copper PCB makes the card look fantastic too. As a prior EVGA 8800GTS owner, I had high expectations for build excellent, and GIGABYTE's 5830 is completely exceptional. This is just the very best 5830 you can get.I haven't but knowledgeable any of the dreaded GSOD's folks are talking about. I'm working with the most up-to-date drivers. ATi releases drivers fairly slow, but based on their history, they DO fix troubles more than time. I assume come 6 months or so no one will have any big issues with 58xx series drivers. DO NOT Buy this card if you have an ASUS motherboard with an NVIDIA northbridge!! (that's most P- series and some other people). They have known issues with 58xx series cards, including merely not booting with them (check out the ASUS assistance forums). I have a P5N-E-SLI and do not get video output unless I boot, and then difficult reset each boot, and I'm 1 of the lucky ones. Not docking eggs for this since it is an ASUS issue and not GYGABYTE's. Worth noting although. So if you have an ASUS motherboard, really check and do your homework to make confident that it's compatible. The card is Large! Over 11 inches lengthy! You'll have difficulty trying to fit it in any Mid-tower case, and I wouldn't even try it in a smaller case. GIGABYTE's copper PCB even juts out to the side a bit. Seriously do some measurements ahead of acquiring. Once again, not docking eggs simply because all 5830s are this large. Just be aware.Didn't come with a game (as numerous other cards do), but I purchased this card because I already HAVE games. I was worried that I wouldn't see a lot improvement in performance more than my prior 8800 GTS 640 due to the fact my E6700 CPU would bottleneck. That didn't take place. I'm happily running all my games at native 񢄐x1050) resolution with most visual goodies turned up to 11. DiRT 2, L4D2, BFBC2, GTA4, Borderlands, everything looks wonderful, and I'm glad I've got DX11 for future titles.I haven't overclocked but, but this card (and especially GIGABYTE's cooler) has a very good reputation for doing so. So I'm not worried.

Rapidly, quiet, efficent. Fantastic video excellent. Good overclocking capacity. My personal computer idles more than 50 watts much less than it did with my HD 4870 (with slightly superior gaming performance based on title). Size, Big! I have noticed the video drivers tend to crash on occasion when coming out of "SLEEP" state or with many (more than 6) IE tabs opened. Virtually generally recovers swiftly. See other thoughs. The crash matter is a little annoying. I have noticed with my machine it seems to only occur when the card is at the reduced idle state 鳝mhZ GPU, 300mhz ram). If you start out anything that demands more video power, it will "hiccup" when raising the power. Win 7 drivers recover rapidly sufficient but it may possibly be a more severe issue with an older OS. NO troubles in the course of game play. Power consumption is wonderful compared to the HD 4870 I replaced. If your machine idles alot between gaming sessions, its a great upgrade!Phenom II 940; 8 gigs ram; HD5830; four tough drives, blue ray burner; dvd burner; digital tuner card; 700 watt 80+ PS; and more than half a dozen fans!
