HITACHI XL Desk 1TB 3.5" External Hard Drive
Comment:
This external difficult drive has a terrabyte of storage, runs quietly, has sufficient ventilation, and looks good. The transfer rate is also good. Absolutely nothing significant. The instructions are merely an illustration, with no text, but realistically, anyone who is knowledgeable sufficient to shop Newegg need to know how to connect an external USB drive. The power supply has the plug built into it, so it may possibly take up far more than 1 space in a surge protector. I have one which I use as a backup and external storage drive at function, and a second drive which we use as external storage on our DVR, at residence. Each perform quite properly. |

QuietQuickCost ࿑.99)Hooked up with zero problems.Working fantastic so far, if that alterations I will add one more post.Stand comes off effortlessly for portability.Goes to sleep nicely my Seagate will come on randomly so I have to unplug it. Extremely short usb Ɠft) most externals come with at least 4ft or longer. Pretty considerably require the stand but even although it looks flimsy it is really steady, nonetheless would have preferred not to use it. Lives up to the Hitachi name. I now own four internals and an external and have had 100% satisfaction. The brief usb cord lost an egg for this item. I contemplate that a main oversight on the component of Hitachi. |

Great Drive with an great price!! Backup software program effortless to install and use. Set it up for a friend who has "Beginner" level encounter with computers - quite user friendly! None Has to lay flat or in a small stand that snaps on to the case but not genuinely an issue. |

It was straightforward to setup. Just plug and play. The exterior is sleek and it doesn't make significantly noise. The performance is greater than I expected for the price. There are a lot of cons which to me weren't a massive deal. Initial there had been no directions on how to install this tricky drive except a picture showing you to plug in the power prior to plugging in the usb. The software program on the device was unspectacular and I ended up formatting using windows. I have not been able to locate support @ hitachis website. Unless the device fails or slows down I don't see any of this being a dilemma. Wonderful easy device. Just don't appear for directions. |

Lots of space for the funds. That's it. It WAS a noticeably slow drive - from 7ቨ until today. And then it died... (didn't even last 3 months). No light, absolutely nothing. I don't even WANT a replacement; I won't go for the "bargain" subsequent time. |

* Affordable - Has every thing you want (power supply, USB cord) all for the cost of a bare OEM drive.* Does what it is supposed to, stores a lot of data * Absolutely nothing fancy, but what do you expect for the cost* No capability to tweak settings, such as power saving settings Works well as a backup drive where you are going to copy stuff to it then unplug it and set it in a corner until you need to have to backup a lot more or retrieve something. |

HITACHI XL Desk 1TB 3.5" External Hard Drive
Cons:
not the speediest horse on the market
Pros: quiet, cheap, ease of use. Comment:
Seems to be doing a great job. Using with WDTV live and it works well. It is a little slow transferring files through usb2.0 but what can you expect. For 80 bucks can't really be beat. |
Straightforward. Lots of space. Works. Low cost. Modest cache but functions fine for periodic backups. Plastic enclosure and stand are weak. Energy supply is wall wart Hitachi drives generally work for me -knock on wood-.
