Right after downloading the most up-to-date patch for Windows 7, haven't had several concerns with it. I could tell a distinction in excellent between this and my other Inventive SB X-FI card in that it was as clear as I would have liked. Some programs don't run rather well with it. Planet of Warcraft has an selection in their audio settings for your sound card and anytime I transform from Default to HT Omega, the game freezes and I have to reboot. Other then that, it runs in DTS all the time with my Inventive Gigaworks 7.1 technique just fine. Minor compatible performances with specific games, but otherwise excellent card. A single other factor could be the HT Omega's software program...could be a l When picking amongst the 2 firms (Creative and HT Omega), I nonetheless chose Creative more than HT but I have to admit, HT has completed a d a m n very good job. I just want they (and Inventive) would add some Linux help.

-Especially effectively constructed, even the PCI bracket didn't really feel economical-Nice organization of capictors (doesn't really matter, just looks nicely organized)-Very easy to use drivers-Outputed sound with Logitech Z-2300 sounds greeeaaaaaaaaaaaat.-Drivers for win 7 X64 worked with no concerns, no blue screens yet! None!! Don't worry about the price tag if you like higher excellent audio. You get what you spend for when it comes to pc equipment.

I've used this card on two different OS's - XP and 7. On XP, this card was extremely solid, and I never had any difficulties. On Windows 7, on the other hand... Windows 7 drivers are incredibly unstable. I have numerous games (Stalker series, Oblivion, Baldur's Gate II to name a few), which crash routinely unless I disable hardware sound. Looking into the cause of the crashes, it seems that hsmgr.exe (the card's software program) is the cause. The worst component, when the crashes occur, the sound that was playing at the time loops infinitely, and the only way to get rid of it is by rebooting. Also, the ports are not colour coded, with quite a few instances blocking the etched writing that labels every single port, so have entertaining figuring out what cord goes exactly where. Until I memorized the configuration, I had to reference Newegg's photos of the card to see what they were. The sound configuration software could be far more streamlined for easy usage. Also, Windows 7 has been released for far more than sufficient time for HT to create and release more appropriate drivers for Windows 7.

-7 channels and a subwoofer- okay for sonar and music producing programs-only takes up one space on board compared to some other people that can take up two -DRIVERS ARE DISGUSTINGLY Poor!- Stutter problem where the audio stops working for a second bring about by the drivers- weird placement for pseudo midi ports all and all its great for everyday use if not utilizing music software, DO NOT USE FOR SONAR OR Anything CAKEWALK BRANDED!

Wow, this sound card is wonderful! Higher excellent sound output and has excellent connection choices, like an input for a toslink cable. I've had this thing for more than a year now and it hasn't provided any problems at all. This is definitely the ideal sound card I have ever owned for my Pc. None. This sound card is a bit pricey but all higher quality sound cards are this way. Worth each and every penny, in my sincere opinion.

Strong soundcard for gamers and men and women who take pleasure in music. I will not get into brand bashing here, but the far more common brand of sound card had left me unhappy with thier remedy of thier prospects (google it if your interested), and I was very glad to have an option brand. I have been extremely satisfied by the efficiency of this card. Did not function effectively with generic Vista drivers(wrong speakers would be driven), challenge corrected as quickly as supplied drivers have been installed. I have this soundcard connected to a set of Klipsch ProMedia five.1 THX speakers (the analog set)

Clarity and good quality. Finest support of any personal computer product manufacturer. They drive my Mackies (MR5 & MR8), Behringer Sub, and Behringer MS-20s really effectively. And, they are just fine with my Audio-Technica ATH-A700 and ATH-M50 cans with ease. I run one particular of these in both of my DAWs and to energy my household stereo setup. Not even 1. Do you think I have bought 7 of these due to the fact I like poor sound? Yup, place them in 7 builds...with a Claro HALO in one particular other. If you discover, most of the undesirable evaluations are by men and women who don't know how to set up hardware and computer software...and those who started out by shopping for the wrong card in the 1st spot. The drivers are good, for all OS. Don't ask any lame inquiries, just obtain this and comply with the guidelines...you will NOT be disappointed.

Nice software program with it and had a good expertise contacting support. Any problems I had were minor. Back plate doesn't fit my Antec case effectively and had to be modified to fit correctly. The outputs are gold etched into gold so it can make reading them kind of tricky. Had difficulty hooking up to Logitech 5.1 speakers as the channels would not output clearly but I basically got a Yamaha Receiver and Polk Speakers and switched to the digital audio out. Operating the computer system by way of a Sharp Aquos and Surround, card performs fantastic now. Purchased absolutely nothing but Inventive for years but I would undoubtedly use this card again. The help alone is worth it.

Comment:
DTS 7.1 at a good price, good sound, coax & optical out. 16-bit sound only, not 24-bit. W7 drivers do not come in the box, but are accessible on the net. The most recent version is .81740, and they don't appear terribly stable. Playing Oblivion & Fallout three, I've gotten each games to crash, sometimes within 15 minutes, when they had been otherwise perfectly stable with my technique. Also, if you click on the windows audio controls and play around with them, you can override the DTS 8 channel output and get stuck in stereo mode till you go back into the cMedia console once again. Doom three doesn't even recognize it as anything but two channels. I'm almost certainly going to send this back unless some thing modifications. Unfortunately I can't advise this sound card for a gaming rig, while this is undoubtedly not the sort of interface for recording. For a DAWs there are far better possibilities out there for not that substantially more (although you tend to find the best ones on music stores - emu 1212 is a great option below 赨). This card might be good for HT and listening to music, but if you're undertaking that, wouldn't you rather have 24-bit audio? meh not in pressed...Somebody inform me what i'm carrying out wrong here, and I'll be satisfied to update my critique, but I have a feeling it's the drivers, not me.

Utilizes CMI-8770. DTS, Dolby Interactive, XEAR 3D. Fantastic for motion pictures, paired with a decent set of speakers or a decent receiver on Household Theatre it packs very a bit of sound. Most C-Media and other chipsets can\'t reproduce EAX, even if claimed so. Decent for most headphones despite the fact that if you have "audiophile" headphones the Claro Halo, Claro XT or Xonar Essence STX are far better.

Go download the most up-to-date drivers from HT Omega, the 81740's. This card operates flawlessly in each 32 -and- 64-bit Windows 7 Pro, and did in RC1 as effectively. I would appear to the supply of a variety of conflicts to be with VIDEO drivers, probably from the newest crop of nVidia drivers? Or the beta's? This card operates in Windows Seven, period. This is not a high-finish card, but is as close as you will locate for the value, beneath 贄.

Crisp, clear sound. Driver/Software requires time to confiqure and adjust. This is not a 24 bit card. NewEgg nor Omega state that it has 24 bit capability. Please do your study. It is a fantastic economy card. I bought just to attempt one thing different from my Creative Xtreme Audio card. I am pleased by the crisp, clear sound on my Z5500 speakers and will possibly upgrade to Clarion plus 24 bit in the near future.

Easy to install and does what a good quality sound card should do -- pump out the sound with exceptional quality and fantastic supporting software program. Have my Logitech Z-5500 speakers operating by means of an optical cable, and not only does it decrease cable clutter but the purely digital sound is amazing. None

-superior sound excellent-DTS and DD actual time encoding-fairly low-cost-s/pdif in/outs-great shiny gold/black look -software program is functional but not intuitive, it took me a little bit to figure out-only 48KHz (not 96 or 192) audio output, not produced obvious anyplace on newegg or on their web page-only EAX 2.-no mounting screw included The Striker 7.1 is a good buy if you are searching for a sub-贄 sound card.I don't know if it is common practice to incorporate a mounting screw with sound cards, but it took me longer to dig a single out of my basement than it did to do the rest of the card install. Come on HT Omega, screws don't expense that a lot.

Good sound top quality. Way greater than Creative in my opinion. Consumer service is very good too! They don't wait to get a hold of you following 2 weeks like Creative. If your intending on utilizing this card to make music look elsewhere. This card has no ASIO drivers and will probably cause incompatibility issues with your DAW. Good surround sound and gaming sounds seriously superior with this card.

My favorite aspect is the audio configuration system that came with it. You can adjust based on atmosphere size, as well as altering the effects of the sound. Suitable now I've just got a two.1 setup, but I'm fairly effectively set as far as inputs & outputs if I ever want to upgrade to a five.1 or 7.1 program. I don't feel there's any audible difference, but there's no option for 2.1 speakers in the configuration. I just have it set on two, and the bass is much more than sufficient, so it's no big deal. The way it connected to my motherboard, too, forced all the labels on the back for the ins & outs to be upside-down. But it nevertheless performs. For HT Omega's least expensive card, this one particular's pretty strong.

This card is remarkable for the price tag. Its a bit additional then some low-cost brands like rocketfish from greatest purchase but for the further cash you get genuine people to talk to if you HAVE a difficulty. I couldnt figure one setting out emailed them and with in an hour i was speaking to a true person A Genuine Individual. I dont know how glad it tends to make me to know that if i have a dilemma i can get aid fast. None. Wish i could have purchased the larger end ones but didnt have the dollars. This is a really very nice card for the price. Sound qulity is remarkable along with all the software they give you. Support is beyond awesome. Great corporation

Amazing construction. I got this mounted straight beneath my Radeon 5850 and there's no interference at all. HT Omega's tech support is great (see other thoughts). even in 16bit mode it sound greater than most. The drivers are still in improvement for windows 7. You can only get this to function as a 16 bit 48KHz card in win7 64. I emailed HT Omegas tech assistance and it appears that you will only get full functionality in windows XP. the lazy d-bags at C-Media haven't updated the win7 driver in nicely over a year. It's bull. But I've decided to maintain it and wait for an update. HT Omega's tech help assured me that they are nagging C-Media to death about an updated driver, He supplied to let me wait for the update for various months, and if none showed up he would give me a total refund on the card. The HT Omega Claro has totally functional win7 drivers.
