Works well as a plug and play USB add-on video card on my XP and Vista machine (but see below) to expand the desktop. As noted previously, only has refresh rate alternative of 60hz, but this does not seem to be as much as a problem as I would expect on the CRT that I have tried it on. Initially would not work on my HP Pavilion dv6000 laptop running Vista 32 bit. (Win XP ran with no a hitch out of the box) Had to go to the Diplaylink.com internet site to download updated drivers. Download the four.four drivers, and it will automatically update to the four.five drivers (not listed). The most present driver v 4.six listed does not seem to work for this device but (the USB device identifier for this DVI version is 0053) This device now runs well on my Vista laptop. On the DisplayLink internet site, it looks like 64 bit drivers are shortly in the functions, and they are working on Windows 7 versions.

I have been really impressed overall with the efficiency of this device. I don't use it for 3D substantially but that appears to operate OK, general it provides me an exceptional screen for IM/email/browser/etc. My driver was out of date but the installed utility didn't detect a newer version. Had to download/install manually.Every single time I install the driver (initial time + final update) it gets to the finish of the installation, then hardlocks my laptop. After a tough reset it's installed and functions fine. I have a dell precision m6500 with an ATI FirePro M7740. Native screen resolution is 1920x1200 and I have two wing monitors at 1600x1200. dxdiag lists all 3 of my screens as operating off the key ATI video card, not confident why.

Plugged it in, installed the software (currently running Vista) and it just worked.I wanted a 3rd display option to run at 1680x1050 and had previously been using MaxiVista software to do just that but grew tired of slow refresh's accross the network and difficult to read text. This hardware resolution functions and I'll be picking up another one for a comparable 3 monitor setup at property. For a little price, I no longer have to guess no matter if one thing is an "I" or and "L" or a 1 if it's code I'm searching at. Is fine for browser based video (youtube and so on.)I have not tried to play any games on it but this is for a perform setup and I like it. I'm now out of open USB ports but I'll remedy that if I call for an additional USB port down the line... If I had the desk space I'd seriously like to attempt a second one and a 4th monitor :)

Easy! non-upgradeable card This is in response to the review titled "No 64-bit support". As of nowadays, 1ቴብ, there is a vista 64 bit driver for download at iogear's site.

I purchased this for perform, where I'm running XP 32bit, and even at 1600x1200 it runs flawlessly. No 64bit OS support... be warned!

Works for what it was designed for and supports OSX. The unit does create a small heat, but nothing outside of usual devices.

Superb item! this was my third adapter so i was acquiring annoyed already with other poorly made adapters. takes about five minutes to have a dual monitor setup. excellent clarity at 1600 x 900 resolution. previous adapters i had purchased were blurry, the screen was darker, and it would lag. this is a fantastic item and its on sale. None at all

None Garbled primary display I have a brand spankin' new MBP with an i5 CPU. I received my device right now, downloaded the most recent drivers from IOGear then was on my way. Every thing was fine until I disconnected from the external display and tried to use my MBP. The screen "garbled" for lack of a better word. Totally unusable. Rebooting didn't support. Had to boot into safemode & uninstall the driver. IOGear's support was less than stellar. I will be sending this back 1st factor tomorrow. Manufacturer Response:Thank you for choosing IOGEAR and we apologize for your encounter. Please feel no cost to make contact with our consumer support at 1-866-946-4327 or e-mail us: support@iogear.com. We will be glad to help you and process an RMA for you. Tip: This IOGEAR product utilizes an DisplayLink chipset. DisplayLink has created a new driver that is in Beta testing at this time. Hopefully this new and improved driver will solve the issue that you observed on your MacBook Pro. Once more, we are really sorry for the inconvenience.

Works flawlessly. Video's work without having any issues and it's getting employed off of a function laptop. When working with the laptop else exactly where with out the usb monitor then coming back to it, the screen placement of the VGA screen and this 1 are not remembered.
