Legacy no cost except for the 1 PCI slot (which I nevertheless need to have for my wireless card). Like some other reviewers, I had issues with Crucial DDR3 1333.Have to get rid of video card to unlatch RAM clips (though I guess if not for the RAM situation, I wouldn't have been undertaking significantly). Thanks to the other reviewers... go with Kingston, solved my situation! Wish there were evaluations when I bought this (the 1st week it was out)... Two weeks later, I'm just now finding almost everything sorted out (RMAs, new orders, etc.)Previous program also utilised a micro ATX Intel board Ɠ-series), appears odd they'd eliminate the optical SP/DIF for this iteration and for just this a single P55 board out of the 4 Intel gives.

Comment:
The board functions nicely for company demands and seems to have a relatively straight forward BIOS that makes setting 1 up straightforward. Operates nicely with most compatible parts! The flaw rating of the CMOS appears to be a joke. We've ordered 8 and three of which have had fatal CMOS difficulties more than a short period of time, all of which after installing Windows 7 64-bit and updating. Upon that exact same restart you would hear 3 beeps, and removing the battery would permit you to restart. The instant you restart or turn the laptop or computer back on although, you have to take out the CMOS battery and put it back in just before the computer would run properly. Managed to get two of them replaced, but it was by means of Newegg which covered them on its 30-day policy. Intel, on the other hand, is refusing to support and as an alternative appears stuck on the reality that not all of the computers have "tested" RAM. The RAM isn't he concern, it's the CMOS clear as day, made even far more apparent by the fact that even with tested RAM the very same issue occurs. I wont be obtaining Intel for a incredibly long time unless it's crucial that I do so. I can't waste power by leaving the computer system on 24ǝ just to keep away from the challenge... I could just be really unlucky, but I have had other concerns as properly, they are as follows: The very first tech was really rude (had problems with him in the past), literally accused me of causing the challenge by using untested RAM and told me quite a few occasions to attempt other strips of RAM and moving them all about when it was obvious the RAM did not result in the challenge. He even had me put it in other BOXDP55WB's which yielded no issues. The second tech didn't even know that putting in the incorrect battery into the CMOS could explode... He claimed that Intel has "Never seen such a problem before"... Then why is there a WARNING LABEL for it..? Each instances I asked what tier the IT was and neither responded - Subsequent time I'm asking for the manager flat out; assuming there is a next time. Neither IT was beneficial, neither answered my concerns without having extreme hassle, and it felt like each didn't actually know what they were talking about... That alone has created this a nightmare!

Lots of features for a nice price. Great guide that came with the board, straightforward to stick to installation. I assume I have terrible luck. I Ordered OCZ RAM and had 1 stick with memory errors. RMA. Ordered GSkill and again, 1 bad stick. Just ordered the Kingston which was recommended on the Intel website. Crossing my fingers that both sticks are fantastic and the board gets along with them.

Extremely uncomplicated no frills board. Specifically what I was seeking for. The Ram I picked worked out fine, see type beneath. Lots of USB connectors. No Legacy connectors finally! P55 Chipset concern with iPhone/itunes Windows 7 64bit causes iPhone to fail to sync. Hopefully Apple, Intel and Microsoft will get to the bottom of the situation. Removing 1 Egg due to this concern. I am hopeful a resolution will be found swiftly. Just be conscious. Absolutely nothing fancy here, just a simple, economical, well-designed, rock-solid motherboard. A lot of folks complained early on about the LAN drivers not working with Windows 7, but this seems to have been resolved. Prior to installation I downloaded each the most recent BIOS and the newest drivers from Intel's website. I flashed the BIOS prior to installing the OS, then applied the drivers for the duration of the OS install. Almost everything is operating fine and dandy, with no conflicts or failures to report. All correct, so a PSǘ keyboard port would have been good, but then I admit that I'm most likely amongst the last dozen or so folks in the universe nonetheless employing one. No worries- a Ů.50 USB to PSǘ adapter and I can still use my beloved old keyboard. Oh, and the eight rear-panel and six internal USB connectors? Nice. I am finally hub-free of charge. :) I can't think of a single issue to complain about. Nicely, ok- it didn't contain a connector to bring the internal S/PDIF header out to the rear panel, but I'm seriously stretching to truly complain about this.

I jumped from P4 to this CPU so the performance is a quantum leap for me. On my P4 laptop any Video Processing used to take 8-10 hours and now it is 5-ten minutes. Couldn't think about that. No Hyper threading. I really don't want it so I bought this CPU. Couldn't fine something incorrect however. But the Motherboard I got DP55WB is not good, it was giving difficulty given that the day I set it up. Referred to as Intel and they told to send it back. So I sent it to Newegg for replacement.

Inexpensive, Matrix Raid, Efficiency, Intel I got two of these with 08-22-09 Bios. The old bios wouldn't boot an i5-650. Fortunately I had an i5-750 and it booted so I flashed the boards to the newest bios utilizing the 750 and then put the 650 in every. No further problems. If you don't have one more CPU sitting about to flash these with you may have a issue working with the i5-650. I don't like swapping about my CPU's this a lot. Not sure if I will use this one once again. I have employed this board before and had no dilemma. Should be a certain batch. Just something to believe about and think about... If I hadn't had the 750, it would have sucked.

It works ^_^ I had troubles till i put the newest bios on it. I subtracted an egg mainly because the onboard NIC didn't usually connect to the world-wide-web when I began up the personal computer. So I had to restart it and hope it would work on the next boot. Downloading the most recent bios will fix that and possibly any other complications you could have with this. Now that it functions, it's great.

Cheapest motherboard for new I5/I7 Due to the fact I assembled my PC it began giving trouble. I believed memory problem as it fails memtest86 but memdiag passed. So I feel memory is bad. But the motherboard also went bad withing two weeks. Talked to Intel support twice and they told to send it back for replacement. I believed I will be in a position to use all the USB ports on back but if you do that half of the devices will not work. Don't acquire it for I7 Processor and attempt to avoid for I5 also

quite smaller, supports the i7 and i5 processors not all ram works without altering the settings in the bios if you want to make other ram function on this mother board this is what you have to do: The Issue: The computer system restarts when trying to load the operating technique mainly because the voltage to the ram is set at 1.5v so you can only use low voltage RAM with this motherboard unless you change the settings.Fix: go to the bois (by pressing F2 when you start the computer system) then go to performance then down to Memory Overrides, soon after this alter where it says <Automatic> to <Manual> then go down to SDRAM Memory Voltage and alter it to the right volts that you require (only up to 1.65v) This should fix the restarting challenge.

Basic board, uncomplicated to install in the case. Windows 7 - 64 bit will not install even with certified memory modules. BSoD each time. Windows 7 - 32 bit installed but also BSoD twice before obtaining a desktop. It appears that the NIC is not detected correctly and everytime W7 tries to access the NIC it generates a BSoD. Checked Device Manager in 32 bit mode and the ethernet controller is observed but has troubles. I was able to use the supplied CD-Rom from Intel and get NIC drivers installed and the program does access the world wide web. I am still working on acquiring 64 bit to install. May well not be the best board for everybody. Required above average skill level to make function with Windows 7.

Nice basic board. Legacy free of charge for IO; no keyboard or mouse ports and no PATA connectors (who requirements these anyway?). Installed Win 7 64-bit with no problems. Running an i7-860 with 4GB. Has been running 24ǝ for three months with no problems. I did install the approved memory. It’s true that a video card overlaps the memory. So, you need to remove the video card to change memory. Not positive if that’s so poor. It’s not like you need to have to swap out memory each month. I also wish there had been much more BIOS controlled fan connectors. This is a wonderful HTPC board. Extremely smaller and efficient. This motherboard has had no difficulties going to low power sleep mode. Just add an i5, affordable video card and PCE-X1 turner and you have a wonderful HTPC.

Don't buy this board and an i5 togather!!!
Comment:
If you are using Core i5 or Core i3 processors with this board you will not get post with the core i5 or core i3. You will need to get Core i7 processor to get post then you can update the bios to the latest so it will support the core i5 and core i3 processors.

The motherboard was fine but the onboard ethernet port stop workin after 3 days... Try everything: restart, re-install windows, re-install drivers still says there is a hardware problem. I have to buy an externel ethernet card.

Cons:Micro ATX

Pros:Quiet, cool, stable, awesome!
Comment:
I got this mobo as a package deal with my i5 750 a few months ago, and so far it has been very solid and stable. When I ran the first benchmark with my XFX Radeon 4890 XXX edition video card, it blazed through 3dMark 06 with over 17500 points! It does very well, and has some nice options in the BIOS. It is a micro ATX board, so don't plan on loading it up with a bunch of PCI cards. It only has one PCI slot, and I used it for my Striker 7.1 sound card. For some reason I was having a weird issue with Vista Ultimate 64 bit and the onboard sound. The sound would give up and stop working every time I would play a game. It would be fixed with a restart, but it always happened. I am not sure if it was an onboard sound issue, or the operating system, but it was all cured with a new sound card. Other than that, I am very happy with this motherboard.

Do not by this unless you are buying an i7 CPU or have a friend who can loan you one. Out of the box the bios version is 122 and doesn't support many i5 cpus.
