Cons:I have none to conclude other than I wish it offered a better heat-sink! :DAnd throw in some thermal paste for free!!!!!!!!!!!

Pros:Very overclockable at stock voltage with proper cooling.Mine did 3.5 out of the box stable on 1.48 volts. I love having 4 cores!!!!!!!! RAWR!!!!!!!!

Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550 2.83GHz LGA 775 95W Quad-Core Desktop Processor
Cons:My C1 stepping runs hot

Pros:Very fastEasily Overclocked
Comment:
Well I wasn't as impressed with this as I was my Q6600 G0 that I overclocked to 3.2 GHz r 65c under full P95 load with a Xigmatek S128 (sp). I have my q9550 C1 running at 3.4 GHz r 70c (28 ambient) with a Xigmatek DK. I'm not happy with the temps on my Q9550 and I will be reseating my DK this week to hopefully improve temps. I am hoping to get it to 3.8GHz on air.

Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550 2.83GHz LGA 775 95W Quad-Core Desktop Processor
Cons:Useless stock heatsink that is so small, and barely cools the stock settings but still manages to, they are still shipping out C1 steppings (but i got an E0 :D) (Vancouver branch ftw)

Pros:Overclocks like a beast, very fast, runs fairly cool, cool box :P, price/performance ratio is SUPERB!, a 12mb L2 cache.
Comment:
Very good chip, got it for 250 plus tax which is a really good price for the performance it gives me. Can overclock it to 3.8 (a whole GHZ difference) with just the slightest voltage increase (not all q9550s are able to do that though). Be sure to buy an aftermarket heatsink if you plan on overclocking it past 3.2 ghz.BUY THIS CHIP! :P

Cons:None

Pros:-Overclocks like mad-Runs cool
Comment:
I just got this CPU and it's amazing. I received an E0 stepping and i', running it at 3.655Ghz almost on my chip's VID. Unfortunately though, i can't really run it any higher because of my motherboard that needs extreme NorthBridge voltages to be stable above 430FSB. But i'm sure the chip would easily sustain a way heavier overclock at low enough VCore.

P5qPro with this Q9550 makes Win 7 64 run smooth as silk. Haven't had the time to OC yet but don't have the need to at the moment. using a Gemin cooler with 120 mm fan which is working great. Love this processor!

Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550 2.83GHz LGA 775 95W Quad-Core Desktop Processor
Cons:price?

Pros:monster performance!
Comment:
This chip is a monster, even at stock speeds it blows everything else I've touched out of the water. Amazing for x264 encoding; 3x faster than my previous 3Ghz C2D.NCIX is *still* shipping the C1 stepping, and my example doesn't seem to be a great overclocker (yet), but I'm happy with the stock performance for now.

Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550 2.83GHz LGA 775 95W Quad-Core Desktop Processor
Cons:none

Pros:Very Strong Quad-Core
Comment:
I got this as part of a new system I had NCIX build and I am not disappointed. Originally I was going to go for a dual core but I figured shelling out the extra coin for a good quad-core would be worth it. I can honestly say I would have regretted not getting this, it's an excellent CPU. I'm also interesting to see what I'll be able to over-clock her to.

Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550 2.83GHz LGA 775 95W Quad-Core Desktop Processor
Cons:Small stock heatsink

Pros:FastOverclocks like a demonEnergy efficient
Comment:
This is one sick CPU. I got an E0 stepping and it does 3.7Ghz Prime95 stable on stock voltage. Can do 3.9Ghz with an extra 0.05V. Power consumption is excellent too - draws about 40W less from the wall than a similar Phenom II 955 system. The stock heatsink it comes with is short like the rest of Intel's 45nm line. It's about 4.5cm tall and has a copper core. The fan doesn't sound too bad (compared to other stock heatsinks), but it won't cut it for overclocking. I suppose it's good if you need to fit it into a small case. The CPU is a little pricey, but combined with a motherboard and RAM, it's a heck of a lot cheaper than a Core i7 setup.

Cons:None in particular that I know of.

Pros:SpeedHigh Cache
Comment:
Great high end performance with a lot of cache. I got this when it was $299 retailing for $370, so it was definitely a great bang for the buck at the time. To be honest, I'm not an overclocker and haven't taken any particular benchmarks, but it is a great cpu when running at stock.

Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550 2.83GHz LGA 775 95W Quad-Core Desktop Processor
Cons:Not quite as fast as an I7 920 of similar clockrate, not as overclockable as the new I7 D0 stepping.

Pros:Overclocked to 4.25 ghz on a Gigabyte UD3R. 50% overclock!Extremely fast when overclocked and runs cooler than I7Compatible with LGA775 and DDR2 - save money compared to an I7 system
Comment:
The Q9550 is an excellent value and begs to be overclocked. When overclocked, will keep up with any videocard(s) for gaming. Still more than fast enough for most any application currently at stock speed.

Cons:none really

Pros:quad core. nice and fast... winrar can change that though :p runs pretty cool.. idling right now at 20C, in an antec 1200. cores at 38, 34, 33, 38 C.
Comment:
would've went with an i7 920 build, but the extra $150 or so after mobo and ram would not be worth it imo. plus, when the time comes i should upgrade, i could put that $150+ to something much better :p

Pros:Easily overclocked, very fast.
Comment:
OC'ed to 3.9ghz with asus p5q-pro mobo. With hd4850 x2, runs most of my games (except with crysis warhead, cant hit 1920x1080 for some reason). Don't use stock cooling if you're planning on high overclocking.

Cons:none, this CPU is solid for the price

Pros:Excellent performance, This quad doesn't slow down for nothing. It's been a steady asset to my rig as I play a lot of PC games.
Comment:
I've been using this CPU for about a month now and haven't regretted the purchase, I bought it on sale and it's been worth every penny, I upgraded from a Pentium D 3.0ghz, so understandably I am noticing a large performance increase over what I had before, but games are running much better than in the past.

Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550 2.83GHz LGA 775 95W Quad-Core Desktop Processor
Cons:-standard cooler probably not sufficient for anything other then standard clock

Pros:-Runs like butter consistently-stays relatively cool even under load (with the help of a decent cooler)-Excellent overclocker
Comment:
I finally decided it was time to dive into the quad-core world after getting frustrated by the lack of performance from my long time running Pentium D 930. While it may seem common sense, the performance gain was a complete breath of fresh air. I had heard the stock cooler was insufficient for overclocking so instead I mounted a Ninja Scythe Plus and an 80mm fan to it. The CPU stays at a healthy 33C normally and 35C on load. Highly recommended. I accompanied the fresh CPU install with a reformat and an install of Vista Business x64. Performance wise, this CPU chews through any operation without problem (Tests with graphic applications, games, encoding etc.) and I am extremely happy about it. Highly recommended!
