Incredibly impressive small processor. The process I place it in is not used for gaming, but with the clock speeds and hyperthreading this factor boasts, I think it could stand up to my i5-750.The onboard graphics execute admirably for casual games, HD films and browsing uses.A+ across the board! Currently ordered an additional one for my next buyer. :) Did not come with a handheld portal device. No regrets.

"Optimal Settings" on Crysis selects medium graphics settings but was finding much less than 10fps. On low settings it was a smooth 30fps+, with the occasional cache hiccup.Windows Encounter Index reports:Processor: 7.1Memory: five.9Graphics: 5.2Gaming Graphics: 5.eightMajor Hard Disk: 7.7The method I built with this CPU contains Intel BOXDQ67SWB3, OCZ Vertex two 60GB, 2x2GB Kingston Worth Ram DDR3 1333mhz, Win7 64-bit and a 300W max PSU in a low profile case. I'm asking yourself if I really should have populated the RAM DIMMs differently. Possibly my memory score is so low mainly because I'm in single channel mode. It's incredible for the value, but if you're a hardcore gamer it won't satisfy for long. Casual gamers need to jump on board.

Bang for your buck the Sandy Bridge processors are second to none. I use this in my HTPC and it runs 1080p videos no problem. Runs very cool. Stock cooler is type of loud for an HTPC but nevertheless incredibly quiet. If you are going to make an HPTC with XBMC I promise you that you will not be in a position to use hardware acceleration with any Sandy Bridge or otherwise. I produced this mistake thinking the built in video processor would work with XBMC. Study the forums, it does not.

Pros:Fast for the price
Comment:
It depends what you are looking for but I used this build a Surfing/office stuff computer for the family. You can get great performance for the price as long as you are not planning on gaming with it.Intel tends to change it sockets more often than AMD it's something to keep in mind you want you are planning on upgrading for a long time.

Intel Core i3-2100 3.1GHz LGA 1155 65W Dual-Core Desktop Processor
Cons:Not much really.

Pros:Great product. I'd classify it as one of the best bang for your buck processors out there. Though it only has 2 legit cores, it has the capacity to do pretty much all of your everyday needs + all your gaming needs. Imagine that.
Comment:
I really like the performance of this processor, it really doesn't make much difference to the i5 2500k that I have, though I do enjoy having that beast in my rig. But for gaming and everyday needs, this is basically the way to go. An 1155 chip and the bang for your buck processor like this and your on your way for a good system.

Quickly, cool temps, rock solid, great price, also content with integrated graphics on this chip, surprisingly superior. None, wonderful dual core proc Utilized this in a m-itx construct for my wife, was worried as soon as I crammed anything into that tiny case (Lian-Li PC-Q11) that temps would be an issue, not at all, using intel burn test, I rarely get over 52C.

Intel Core i3-2100 3.1GHz LGA 1155 65W Dual-Core Desktop Processor
Cons:Intel still offers no product registration

Pros:Good for mainstream operations or users needing entry-level system, stock fan easy to install, provides good value for budget build
Comment:
Runs cool, even with stock cooler. I find it relieving that a 3rd party HSF is not required for an entry-level dual core processor. Was easy to install, and functioned correctly on first and all subsequent boots. A safe bet.

Works wonderful in my HTPC, its good and cool operating on my Gigabite MB in a tiny HTPC case, quick also. Im working with the video on the chip and it works incredibly superior for me on my 60 LG Tv. Extremely content None, even the affordable small fan that came with it works excellent and keeps it in the low 30s Its a good HTPC set up, but this chip would be a good all around CPU for everyone else. Why get a quick auto if you only go 70 down the road anyway?

Intel Core i3-2100 3.1GHz LGA 1155 65W Dual-Core Desktop Processor
Cons:not the best for multitasking

Pros:Good performance and low consumption
Comment:
I put this CPU in a mid-low PC and works great for considerable demanding programs, but it is not recommendable for multitasking and it can't be overclocked. If you want to use it with a ton of windows open, it won't be the best option, but if you only use one program at the time, you won't be in trouble. All this keeping in mind that it is not for the most powerful applications and xtreme gaming, is focused on low power consumption.

bought to make a computer for my parents and occasional gaming use (me lol ) . used with msi p67a-g43 . don't plan on overclocking as i see no reason to do it, maybe a few years down the road when i want to make it run games at higher fps maybe.

Comment:
- Cost- Excellent performance, better than 1st Generation i5's- Intel Graphics HD 2000 works fine for 3D- Temperature always stays low with the original Intel fan (Usually below 105?F in mATX slim case with poor cooling technique) - Not at all I had preferred AMD till I got this CPU. Unless you play challenging-core 3D games, this is the great CPU for you. Integrated graphic core is far more than adequate for HD movies, easy 3D games, and Photoshop tasks. This keeps away from buying an extra graphic card, which will take extra 150 bucks away from you.

Intel Core i3-2100 3.1GHz LGA 1155 65W Dual-Core Desktop Processor
Cons:-HSF push pins need a little getting used to-need to reposition fan wire around the HSF to ensure it doesn't get 'cut' when the fan spins

Pros:-Good budget processor-integrated gfx okay for office build; no need for a discreet gfx card
Comment:
Good budget processor for building a sub-500 dollar system. I used this for my brother's build and is mainly being used as an 'office' pc (no gaming). Using the integrated gfx works fine with multimedia playback and temps are okay with the included HSF.I played with the HSF push pins to become familiar with it prior to installing. When installing, you need to push on the top-left and bottom-right at the same time. Then the top-right and bottom-left at the same time. This worked for me and had it properly installed on the first try.Only problem I saw was the fan wire running around the HSF. It was not well positioned and when I spun the fan, I actually saw it hitting the wire. So I had to fiddle and reposition the fan wire during installation.

Cons:HSF was a bit tight to install

Pros:Sandy Bridge architecturePriceRuns at 3.1 GHz
Comment:
Paired this with 4GB Mushkin silverline, p8h67 m evo. The only concern I had was installing the HSF, due to the fact it was tight to affix onto the motherboard. Definitely a good buy for anyone on a limited budget.
