Excellent product
Comment:
CPU is easy to install. A CPU Fan is included with the CPU, which is very quiet. It is so quiet that i sometimes think it is off. So far, excellent.

Works well, what I wanted, cool and quiet
Comment:
I looked for a budget solution to upgrade a 5 year old Pentium 4 system. This fit the bill. Installed easily. Didn't expect to have to put as much force to latch the socket lid (compared to the plastic socket protective blank that came with the motherboard). Had problems with the mb, and am getting replacement. But while the system was stable it was very quiet - the boxed CPU fan and heatsink do a great job. Built in graphics are fine including downloaded video. Windows 7 performance is very crisp and quick. I expect the real noticeable performance improvement will come when I get to video editing and high res photo scan tuning.

Nice CPU for HTPC use!
Comment:
Using this as my HTPC CPU. Mated with an ASUS P7H55-M Pro mobo. Stock fan does well, especially when controlled via the mobo. Idle temps are around 30C with fans set to quiet mode. Speed is fine, although I don't tax this system much since it is a HTPC. Nice having the GPU built in! A great deal at 99 bucks since it was on sale!

Intel Core i3-530 2.93GHz LGA 1156 73W Dual-Core Desktop Processor
Cons: Factory standard clock speed is set to low.

Pros: Value, Good real world speed (No hype)
Comment:
I think this cpu should have higher clock speed for same package. 2.93Ghz is may mb marketing hype, but with this cpu overclocking is a must. I am playing game on my PS3 so I need a decent HD movie and mulitmedia PC. I was about to spend more money on I5-750 or AMD black 955, but this cpu is just fine for everyday computing. I am happy with my choice.

Great Processor for Beginners
Comment:
I didn't know what to expect when I got this. It was going into the first PC I ever built from scratch. All other PC's I used were factory made or made for my job. When I started to use this processor, I was really happy with the speed that windows and other programs loaded up. I am zipping around the internet and downloading things faster then I thought possible.

Great little proc
Comment:
This processor has definitely performed great for me. This little thing only takes about 1.5 - 2 hours to decode a DVD for backup. The integrated graphics are even enough to run almost the entire suite of aero effects on Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit! I would highly recommend for a budget-conscious PC build.

Great Value for Performance
Comment:
Installed with stock fan in my first build. My last machine had a Pentium IV 3.04 GHz. This i530 has good performance for multi channel audio and virtual instruments. Asus motherboard with mild overclock settings definitely boosts performance. (as well as temp)I will consider an upgrade fan when I build the next machine around an i5 or i7.

Intel Core i3-530 2.93GHz LGA 1156 73W Dual-Core Desktop Processor
Cons:none - it may not have Turboboost but it will outperform older processors hands down.Stock cooler sucks!

Pros:Price and Performance
Comment:
This thing screams out of the box scored a 7.1 on Windows 7evaluation.If you're thinking about replacing a socket 775 set-up what are you waiting for?Lot's of people are clocking this to 4.5 Mhz on air no problem.Don't forget to add better HSU.

This thing is so fast, I cant imagine having a I5 or I7. These are worth every penny. Not sure why the reviews below describe how this thing is blazin fast, then only give Performance 4 stars??
