I purchased this thinking it was only a Quad core, realizing when I turned it on that is was an 8-Core I couldn't be happier. I think I got my income's worth, for Intel. This is not very as very good as the Extreme Core i7 but it is about 跾 dollars less costly. What a deal.| Makes my V8 work tough. lol Specs: Cosmos 1000, GIGABYTE GA-X58A-UD7 [Mobo], Core i7 three.2GHz Ζ Core], Cooler Master V8, 16gb RipJaw RAM, Geforce 9800gt 1gb x2 SLI, ASUS Xonar D2X 7.1 MIDI support [Sound card], Trendnet Wireless N-draft Adapter. Came out to like ū,250 with new case fans. It's like a fridge.

multitask whatever you want and run it without troubles. I love it every thing seems stable and was able to use Intel's Desktop Manage Center to monitor actual status (mobo tools provided by Intel). spendy and I didn't want to trust the stock fan to safeguard my spendy investment. I've haven't noticed any problems with it I was going to purchase i7-920 but rather of OC that just upgraded to keep away from the adjustments. QuicklySuper fastUncomparably rapidly I would say price, but 躔 for what you get is in fact fairly reasonable A friend has a core i7 870 overclocked to four.1 Ghz, and got a 3dmark vantage score of 24,000. This processor at a regular clock of three.two Ghz score 44,000 CPU score on 3dmark vantage. Needless to say, out of the box, it blows away prior models of the i7, and every other processor ever produced.

Super efficiency in the applications I use, particularly NLE of HD video in Sony Vegas. A quantum leap from the C2D E8400 @ 3. GHz, which this replaced. The cost is moderate, as traded against "native" clock speed. I look at this a reasonable worth, but I am positive overclockers can push "lesser" chips beyond the native three.two GHz of this one for drastically much less cash. I have no interest in pushing these chips beyond the rated spec, so I was willing to pay a moderate premium to get the greater rated speed. Everyone should make these considerations for themselves.

Comment:
Proper out of the box this factor is rapidly enough to ran all key applications and games with no hesitation. Brought this because of its somewhat high clock speed to try and avoid any over clocking hassles. It is about 跌 additional high priced than the i7 930 for not a whole lot much more efficiency, not sure how they justify the cost increase here. Runs a little warm with the stock cooler (around 46 degrees C in my case) so an aftermarket cooler maybe a great thought to maintain the temps down.

My 4th 1366 CPU, and my second 960. One of the ideal cost to efficiency ration CPU's. Not the ideal overclocker.1366 is dead normal. If you want to be able to use the same MB for a lot more then two years, got with 1155.

Pros:At the Time, it Was the Newest. Great OC, Intel makes good shit.

This is a Great processor for 1366, but if your doing a whole new build, just go with a 2nd Series I7, its newer and More revamped.I actually bought this one month befor ethe 2nd Series i7s, but it still rocks.

Speed/$ Default in BIOS shows 2.8 ghz? Longtime Intel chip user. New create. Employed three.two ghz P4 for years. BIOS (new EVGA X58 SLI3) shows speed at two.80. Haven't played with it yet, but appears like it need to default to three.2 since chip is spec'd there. Coupled with raptor drive it loads and processes very promptly. Will play with jacking the processor to its factory spec of three.two and OCing when I get some baseline issues and stats established.

Pros:Fast!Cheaper than the i7 950

The 960 is extremely fast, and for the price, probably the best price-for-speed LGA1366 i7 currently on the market.

Intel Core i7-960 3.2GHz LGA 1366 130W Quad-Core Desktop Processor
Cons:Very occasional excessive CPU usage with specific video transcoding apps but keeps up OK, does not support trusted execution which means you can still get rooted but at least there's no copyright control.

Pros:Fast, reasonably cool, quiet fan, supports virtualization direct hardware access.
Comment:
Will allow admin-user/root-level virtual systems to directly access system hardware, but I will still get a separate SSD volume for a Windows installation sometime in the future.Pretty good, but too bad I didn't get a better one, for example with trusted execution (CPU and motherboard must both have hardware stuff built in for this). Of course, with this CPU one accepts the possibility of being rooted while having the ability to play with copyrighted stuff. With trusted execution, rootkits are almost impossible (and so is playing with digitally rights-managed media). With the GTX570 video card running 2 monitors on the Intel X58 gaming board, the setup will play anything smoothly except the most HD intensive material. So far though, I haven't tested it with certain Windows-based video games. With CUDA possibly being integrated with certain Linux operating systems sometime in the near future, massive parallel computing may be possible with certain hardware combinations, resulting in interesting computational abilities.Good price, good performance.

This processor is specifically what you would anticipate for a price tag like that. The performance so far is unmatched. I bought it for a greater cost than it is being sold now but Newegg was generous sufficient to present a ฤ giftcard to ease the pain. It is significantly appreciated. The heat-sink and fan didn't snap on to the motherboard very easily. I had to attempt several times to get it to snap-in appropriately. It just doesn't appear high top quality sufficient for that type of price. I'm already planning on replacing the heat-sink and fan with a high performance aftermarket rig. I lastly got it but immediately after 15 minutes of frustration and cursing. Wonderful performance. You get what you pay for. The fan and heat-sink disappointed me because of the number of times I had to unlock and attempt once more to get it to mount correctly but it finally worked.

Fantastic chip. The price is lastly reduced on this item and the 970.Definately effectively worth it. I whined about the pricing ahead of and nicely,I cant any a lot more.Stock cooler is so so.For ฮ you can get a great cooler..great even for overclocking this chip. Now they must bring the cost of the 930 down to around 赨 and the 950 to 趚.But for the most component this chip is effectively worth the dollars unless you choose to wait for Intels' new line up.Either or,you will get your income's worth.

Quick and renders my HD footage like a dream. Super hot. $$$. Stock fan isn't that great. I owned an AMD Phenom II 955 three.2ghz just before this. HD video editing was "OK" with it. Popped the Core i7 in... WHAM! Can watch the video in real-time and edit up to 6 layers of effects without any noticeable lag. Really like it. The render times however weren't that different. The Intel only beat the AMD by about 15% (or roughly a few seconds)... not positive if it was worth the 軬 but I'm glad I can edit HD now with out any slowdowns. Pair this processor with a Quadro FX card and you'll be in organization when Adobe CS5 comes out.

You want the actual deal Intel is it. No vegetable technologies here like celiron. Intel is the huge deal and if you want Power and reliability this is the chip. The i7 is the fourth generation of the dual core and has confirmed to be the greatest What cons Intel is the industries leader! If it is superior enough for NASA and the Pentagon it is superior enough for me Not for the novice for only the accurate tough core gamer rigs

This thing will be in a position to do anything you want. I run it at stock settings with voltage at 1.04. It's insane how low voltage it is in a position to run it and stable! Mine idles around 39c to 46c with a 50w peltier cooler and with Prime95 it by no means gets past 72c. It does run a little hot and you will absolutely want to get an after marketplace cooler.

I Really like this CPU. Its fast and runs through anything you throw at it. Runs pretty cool with my Zalman CNPS9900A CPU cooler. Was a great price at the time of purchase. Due to the price and so many more reviews with it being out for a while I chose this over the I7 2600 k as I am not really into over clocking and at the time the motherboards for the LGA1155 were just coming back on the market.
