Great awesome board
Comment:
Yea, its basically awesome. They say this board CAN do SLI, and I guess it should be able to, but you would then have like NO SATA ports, because a 10.5 inch card will cover them up. I've already lost one SATA port with my GTX 275. So yea. Also, I will second the reviewer who pointed out that this board does NOT support AC'97 front panel audio. So you might as well just not use it. This has optical audio out anyway and 7.1 integrated into the board so what a waste to use front panel. The built in RAID software is SWEEEET. very very nice. I notice a significant snappiness to my system when i have two 500 gb 7200 rpm sata drives in RAID 0. so all in all for the price your getting a fantastic new board with lots of features. Not the most insane gaming board but itll hold together an AWESOME system.

What I paid for.
Comment:
The motherboard is great. Make sure you update to the latest BIOS. My board was out of date and when I did my first boot, funny things started to happen. Once I upgraded to the latest BIOS, the system snapped on and away I went. I have the motherboard along with a it-950 processor and it loaded Windows Vista Ultimate 64 bit in just under 15 minutes. If you buy a heavy duty graphics board, be careful as some of them are long and can get in the way of the SAta plugs on the motherboard. Other than that, it runs great.

Not bad, but not great, either
Comment:
Works for me. However, it takes a while to post, and seems to be missing a good number of features. For example, I can't set the ram voltage at 1.65V, the limit for i7 CPUs. It only allow 1.62V or 1.66V. The computer also takes 20-30 seconds to post, with no indication why (like ram checks), and no way to disable it. Nonetheless, it works fine, and I've been relatively satifisfied with it.

Good performance, quality possible concern
Comment:
This was a father/son teaching effort and our first attempt at building a PC from scratch. Value compared with other boards is a concern, but an American company (my desire to buy American). From all of specifications appears to be a better board feature wise (higher cost?). Processor appears to have better performance than other vendors. The cooler fan for CPU could have been designed better, does not lock to motherboard very well. Other issues was lack of parts, the "set off's" for motherboard were NOT included. At this cost compared with other boards, it is cheap parts which should have been included. Additionally, board was coming up posting issues. After some research and insight into PC's, we had to upgrade the bios before we could even load the OS. This was easily done provided you have a usb jumpdrive handy. All in all, compared with a similar pre-built PC, feature for feature vs pricing, I will consider my next PC a kit as well.

love everything about this mobo but 1 thing
Comment:
You can read most of the other reviews that praise this board. Overall I love it and had absolutely no setup problems but...just wanted to make people aware that this mobo has only an HD Audio header. The audio header is used to connect the front panel audio from your case to the mobo. Many cases still use AC'97 connections, and this board doesn't have one. So in my situation, the front panel audio does not work. The other option is to get out your electrician's toolkit and rewire the connection, but I didn't care that much.

Worked great the second time around
Comment:
The first board I received wouldn't recognize any SATA drives, and after some trouble shooting with Intel (who were surprisingly helpful), I had to send it back for a new one. The new one however worked well and was fairly easy to install. Only complaint is the lack of real manual with it. You have to go online to get the complete manual, which isn't terribly easy to find. And I still don't understand why you need a computer to get a manual for building a computer. Oh yeah, it also came with Far Cry 2, which is pretty cool.

Awesome! Great Board!
Comment:
I had to wait an extra week since it was backordered, but it was worth the wait. The board is great. I have always used Intel boards because I love stability. This board is great. I honestly have no issues with where everything on the board is placed. They did a great job informing me and keeping me updated on the backorder status. That to me is great customer service.

Great mobo

I bouth this with the i920 processor and this setup is fast. Very easy to set up but directions are so simple they were probable too simple. I do like having an Intel board with an Intel chip.

beautiful, powerful, upgradable and affordable
Comment:
this board is easy on the eyes with only 2 main colors black and blue, very elegant design and built in high definition sound card up to 10 speakers surround sound. nice blue lights when powered on, and supports core i7 and up to 16gb of DDR3 RAM. it is powerful and does support many of todays latest's hardware, put it in a full tower rookie ;)

Great board, though puzzling is some ways
Comment:
Board is wicked fast and super-easy to install. My one issue is the fourth RAM slot. With triple channel, why would you ever want a 4th slot? I would rather have 3 or 6, but four is just a waste of space. Secondly, the place of the SATA ports was a little inconvienant, do-able, but not as easy as it should have been. No big issues though; overall, a great board!

First time PC builder
Comment:
I build my first PC with this board and I7 920. Installation was easy and documentation was clear. I loved the built in 7.1 audio. After installation I updated the BIOS from Intel. I still don't know if I had to but everything works fine.

Intel Extreme Series BOXDX58SO ATX Intel Motherboard
Cons:Didn't use to support SLI but it does after the fw upgrade.

Pros: - Cheap. I don't know if this is quiet (as the mobo usually doesn't make much noise compared to the fan anyways). - DDR3 -> Video card and ram won't be as hot.
Comment:
Cheap but loaded with good features. Support SLI/x-fire and Raid 0/1/5/10 which are the may features I was looking for. It looks great to use it with shuttle mini xpc barebone (sx58h7).

Great board. The instructions in the box made it so easy to install everything. I installed Windows 7 Beta and it's not performing as fast as it did with Vista on it. it could be from other pc parts.. reliable and easy for do it yourself-ers..

Comment:
An extremely well built board that is an improvement over previous Intel boards which were pretty good themselves. Performance is out of this world with an i7 920 quad core. This board is built for speed and between the quad core, the Quick Path technology, and a very fast bus speed, this thing really smokes! Make sure to install the Intel desktop control center software. Not only does it do a great job of monitoring, it also allows you to program several over clock settings that can be called up through the on screen control center console. My one complaint is that the documentation could be better. If you're not an experienced builder, take the time to read everything you can from the Intel website (there are some links on the Tiger page) and other sites like harwaresecrets.com. This is not a hard board to install if you do a little homework ahead of time. I have been totally pleased with this board and plan to install another one within the next year.

This is a great board. I have been running it since its release and have had no problems once I read all the spec's. It is very picky with the voltage of the ram you use. At first I was using ram at a higher voltage than the motherboard was rated for. Fixed that problem and have been trouble free ever since. This is my 14th computer build in 10 years and by far the best.

This product has been a nightmare! I thought that I was getting a great price from TD, but if you don't buy the right power supply with the right pin connectors; you won't get any video. You have to have a power supply with an 8 pin connector. If your power supply is less than 550 Watts (recommended), and doesn't have an 8 pin plug, it will never work! I am a heavy gamer, but I've had my computer built for over a month, and haven't had it work yet. Because of this motherboard and its screwed up power specifications and demands, I built a very expensive paperweight that is setting around collecting dust! I recommend another processor and another motherboard. BETTER LUCK NEXT TIME INTEL!

I Bought this board with the 940 CPU put in 3 2gig sticks of tri channel Corsair ram and away it went. No fuss no bios update needed to get the ram to post This is a developer's board Intel used it to tweak the I7 cpu's You can rock the world with it or just use it as a dependable worker It will last as long as the I7 series and will keep going long after others have bagged out. Buy it have fun and don't listen to crybaby reviews from people who probably never even bought one. There are always people who will complain just to spoil the real joy of technical excellance Intel blew the lid off the PC world ,again! JOIN IN

Okay, all you doubters out there I think this board is simply FANTASTIC! Price was great from Tiger Direct and the board worked flawlessly. I am simply blown away at the speed of the Intel i-7 965 chip with 3 sticks of 4GB tri speed memory (albiet TigerDirect does not carry this memory)I had to search Amazon to find it.. Motherboard works just fine with a NVIDIA 295 board in slot 3 and an Intel RAID 5 card in slot 1. Yes I had to use angled connectors but my Cooler Master case (Man what an awsome case...) came with 4 connectors but the RAID card dosen't need these, just your other peripherals like the Blueray DVD burner and other junk... For all of you doubters out there who were thinking you'd better get the ASUS P6 or better, let me reassure you this board is simply awsome and you don't have to put up with legacy support for PS2 or IDE, which are DEAD! Great board, great processor and a great price from Tiger Direct (No I am not an employee, or vendor)

What can I say I ordered it loaded it with a i7 920 chip, 3 gigs of DDR3 tricore RAM. A 1 gig video card, two hard drives (Vista) and extra PCI 4 port USB card, 2 DVD/CD burners and every thing is working great.

I change this board twice already. The first time it was DOA and second time the sound stopped working after 2 days. Tried everything including a rebuild but couldn't get the sounds working. I am not sure if it was a bad batch but i will stay away from this board. Also the manual for this board is on the light side.

Nice board. Instructions a little less helpful than I'd like but I'm a virgin builder. This board suits my purposes I wanted to go i7 just to be a little ahead of the times so my pc will last longer hopefully, but I'm not a high end gamer so I didn't need to pay for all the extras. Thanks Intel for building a board for us non-video game addicts. and Thanks Tiger for great prices, shipping, and service!
