very quiet, fan but came with NO thermal gel
Comment:
Intel Original Socket 775 CPU Cooling FanWas fairly easy to install, but disappointed that it did not come with thermal gel or installation instructions. However the salesperson was great and has advised me about installation at the time of purchase.

Good buy for an average CPU
Comment:
Intel Original Socket 775 CPU Cooling Fan U bought 2 of these for Intel Pentium D 915 2.8Ghz DT 800FSB Socket 775 processors (computers for the kids), and they installed with no issues. direct pressure on the feet, a few clicks, and they're attached. No thermal issues at all so far. When first installed, the fans MIGHT scrape the power wire unless you provide a little more slack. I had to do this on one of the fans, but it had plenty of extra available. Would not recommend for power-processing or major gaming or overclockers. But fine for normal computers and gamers. Runs very quietly after hat. Good value for the money.

Tricky to install
Comment:
Intel Original Socket 775 CPU Cooling Fan This cpu fan is tricky to install. The instructions are confusing and don't give you all the info you need. The feet click into the mobo holes with direct pressure, no need to turn the stem to lock it down. The stem turn is used to remove the fan. Also, its hard to find good advice on how to apply the thermal compound. I had heating problems until I found out how to apply the thermal compound on the Artic Silver website. Just one strip down the middle of the CPU does the trick. Not intuitive. Nice and cool now.

Cheap fan hits cooling fins

Intel Original Socket 775 CPU Cooling Fan Seemed relatively OK but had trouble bending the fan supports to stop it from hitting the cooling blades. Too loud.

Wrong Product
Comment:
Intel Original Socket 775 CPU Cooling Fan It would have been nice to get the one i ordered in the first place!! The one i got was not the one in the picture. The one i recieved has a shorter heatsink and the lockdowns are built into the fan. I did try it to see if it would cool any better and that was a fail..

Loud!
Comment:
Intel Original Socket 775 CPU Cooling Fan Loud! Did you hear me over my processor fan? I said it is very loud! Cools alright, but gets hot under extreme loads. It makes my tower sound like a small vacuum cleaner. Seriously. Thinking about going liquid cooling.

Intel Original Socket 775 Cooling Fan 5 Pack - Socket LGA775, Ball Bearing, Copper Core, CPU Cooling Fan
Comment:
Intel Original Socket 775 CPU Cooling FanI got this with a 2.93 processor in a barebone kit. It keeps the processor cool and has NEVER passed the threshold. The only problems with this are the fact that there isn't a better guard for the fan blades. I had to make sure that the fan's own wires didn't hit the blades. Also the fan does get a bit loud, but I usually don't even notice.

Intel Original Socket 775 Cooling Fan 5 Pack - Socket LGA775, Ball Bearing, Copper Core, CPU Cooling Fan
Comment:
Intel Original Socket 775 CPU Cooling FanIt does its job nicely, only using it because it's my only choice, however. It's not too loud when idle, but it sounds like a mini-turbine starting up when the CPU gets hot. I don't notice it, however, as it isn't lound enough to distract me.

Intel Original Socket 775 Cooling Fan 5 Pack - Socket LGA775, Ball Bearing, Copper Core, CPU Cooling Fan
Comment:
Intel Original Socket 775 CPU Cooling FanThis fan is ok. It does the job. I agree that you do not want cheap cooling products when protecting your cpu, but mine came with a cpu so its good. After playing halo for like 5 minutes this thing really kicks in. It is very easy to tell because it sounds like a jet engine in your room kicking on, but atleast it works. It keeps my 3.06 GHZ cpu (ocd to 3.69GHZ) at 100f idle and under 140f playing halo for a while. Pretty descent fan. 3 stars because I like to be able to hear when people are shooting at me on halo and not be struggling to turn up my speakers while being shot at and trying to stay alive.

Comment:
Intel Original Socket 775 CPU Cooling FanWorks extreamly well i just got this cuz i was working on a limited bugdet and it is amazingly quiet and as the guy before said it its noisy and vibrates YOU HAVE IT INSTALLED WRONG!! make sure the prongs are rotated right and install opposite corners at a time to ensure proper pressure every were and the wires will make it noisy if you dont have it clip down cuz they tend to rub agains the blades

Intel Original Socket 775 Cooling Fan 5 Pack - Socket LGA775, Ball Bearing, Copper Core, CPU Cooling Fan
Comment:
Intel Original Socket 775 CPU Cooling FanWorks extremely well. Very quiet. Not cheap, but good. (Who wants cheap when you are protecting your processor?) If your fan is making NOISE or VIBRATING at all, YOU DO NOT HAVE IT INSTALLED PROPERLY. It is important to press each of the tabs in until you can hear/feel a definite 'click'. If you have trouble with one of the tabs (doesn't want to 'click' into place), extract the ones you have clicked into place, rotate the fan 90 degrees and try again. BTW, it is NOT hard to extract the fan, as some reviewers have said. Make sure you keep the wire harness out of the way of the fan blades (the chassis has tabs to tuck the wires into.)

Intel Original Socket 775 CPU Cooling FanI gree with karl on this one. It is EXTREMELY loud, as well as unreliable. After 5 months of hardcore gaming, my computer had blackouts. After a final blackout, I took out the fan, and realized my processor had fuzed together with the fan. Please as a reccomendation from me buy a reliable fan as well as put money into cooling products.

Intel Original Socket 775 CPU Cooling FanThis fan came with a barebones kit that I purchased. It installed very easy and when I powered up up the PC, it was so quiet that I didn't think it was running, but it was. CPU temperature stays constant and so does the noise level. No problems at all, I highly reccomend it.

Intel Original Socket 775 Cooling Fan 5 Pack - Socket LGA775, Ball Bearing, Copper Core, CPU Cooling Fan
Comment:
Intel Original Socket 775 CPU Cooling FanThis fan is quite nice for a free fan that comes with the Pentium 4 Prescott 630. Keeps temps in the 130's when idle but in the 150's when full load =(. I'm going to purchase the Kingwin AWC-1 for this, but for now this one works just fine. Keeps temps about 10F lower on a Pentium 4 2.80GHz. As for installing... There is a thing with an arrow on it (socket locker) Make sure the arrow is facing in when you are putting it in. Push down until you hear a loud clicking noise. Then turn the arrow so it is facing out from the Heatsing/Fan. Here is a screenie of speedfan.. http://img226.imageshack.us/my.php?image=speedfan4qu.jpg
