Great
Comment:
Bought this to replace a faulty processor. No problems with installation, except I needed extra time learning how to screw down the heatsink with the new type of screws. Overall, great product |

Upgraded a Vista system from a Celeron processor to this Dual-core. Installed easily and booted no problem. Big improvement on performance. Rather pricey compared to comparable AMD processors. |

Best CPU for the $$

Fast (2.93GHz), runs cool (45nm die), cheapest CPU that reasonably runs Virtualization Technology and Windows-XP Mode in Win-7. |

Intel - Processors Box Pentium E6500 2.93G 1066FSB 2MB 64 XD S775
Cons:none, it's a great upgrade for the "normal" folks who aren't into overclocking or can't overclock due to motherboard and BIOS restrictions.
Pros:fast, cheap, budget name but real performance. Comment:
- much cheaper than other high clock speed dual core computers.- identical architecture to the Core2Duo processors, with a little bit less cache (2MB vs 3MB or 6MB usually)- great upgrade for those people with crappy motherboards or Dell computers that only support a 1066MHz bus.- more than doubled my CPU scores on a various benchmarks including (PCMark, PassMark, SuperPI). My previous CPU was a dual core 1.8GHz cpu, the E2160 which was another Pentium branded CPU that is a slightly crippled Core2Duo from a while back.- brought my windows experience index for my CPU up from 4.8 to 6.7. |

Works with Windows 7 Pro
Comment:
Has Virtualization technology. Runs Windows XP mode in Windows 7 Professional great. Runs Windows 7 just great too. With 2MB Cache and 1066MHz FSB it's hard to beat for an inexpensive processor. |

This low end CPU works great in my second built. coupled with the ASUS P5G41-M LEMotherboard. The performance Sub-Score is 5.9. When put it all together I loaded Windows 7 Professional 64 bit with 4Gig ram mem. Every thing was Plug and Play. Love the set up. Built this computer for under $280 bucks. So I am happy as a Lark!!
