7.8 in Windows 7 expertise indexPersonal computer completely reboots in much less than 30 secondsEverything loads really rapidlyCopying from this to a momentus 7200rpm drive gets speeds from 130-230MB/s None so far Haven't run any benchmarks on it; its efficiency additional than speaks for itself! I'm working with it as my method drive and only installing the programs I use most regularly on it because of the limited space. Even then I nonetheless have more than 30GB totally free. I utilised to have a couple of 7200 scorpio blacks in a raid in my machine, and they don't even compare to the performance of this factor! This is absolutely one of the finest purchases I've created, and when I make a decision on a new laptop, this drive is going in it!As a bonus, it was good acquiring two no cost games with this drive :D

Boot time is rapid (approximately 15 seconds from power-on to a settled desktop on 1 pc and a little more than 20 seconds on a distinct computer); no noise; computers "feel" faster in virtually just about every way; 80GB is great for a boot drive as more than half the drive remains empty even soon after installing several programs. Price; also, write speed is only about as superior as a decent platter drive, but read speed is about ten occasions far more crucial to me anyway. I still hear men and women saying they're going to wait till the price comes down or the storage size increases or some such thing, and it's accurate that these should be much less costly, but overall it made my pc only marginally far more expensive while increasing performance extremely noticeably. I've now gotten two of these and both are running in tip-leading shape following months. Just remember to install with "AHCI" in your BIOS otherwise it may well not TRIM itself properly. I've read articles that say TRIM really should be unaffected, but all I know is it didn't TRIM until my personal computer was set to AHCI.

Straightforward install, quick, quiet, plenty of space. Not as blazingly quick at some applications as I had hoped, but My system had no bottlenecks to start with so the margin for improvement in overall technique performance was finite. Cost per gb still high, would have loved to get the 160gb as I wound up totally uninstalling my hdd and use the Intel x25m as my only drive. Took my WEI for drive speed from five.9. to 7.7 Processor: 7.threeMemory: 7.3Graphics: 7.3Gaming graphics: 7.3Primary challenging disk: 7.7Can easily bump up processor efficiency to 7.four with a little more oveclock, but the AMD Athlon II x4 620 runs great appropriate at 3.1ghz. I have 4gb ƒx2gb) DDR three ram which can overclock a bit much more bringing its score to 7.4 as nicely. The ATI Radeon HD 4850 x2 scores a 7.3 with out crossfire enabled or overclocking, it too scored 7.four when tweaked. Then there was my WD Caviar black 500gb HDD, I kept it streamlined and it ran good, but scored a five.9 on WEI. Now with the addition of this SSD, all of the other components come to life. It's snappy to say the least, and with 3 25" monitors, its simple to swap applications and multi job with ease. Boots to desktop in 30 seconds, shuts down even faster. Loaded OS and lots of other stuff with room to spare. This drive along with a couple 8gb flash drives implies no much more platter drives for me.

+ The Word Rapidly is not Quickly adequate to describe this thing+ Silent (Since there's no moving parts)+ Cool even below full load ྐྵC Max)+ Notebook or Desktop compatibility+ Can be abused and still function...+ Scores a 7.three out of 7.9 in Windows 7 Expertise Index - Nonetheless far more costly per GB compared to a HDD This factor is so rapidly it knows what you need to have to do with your pc ahead of you do it... Or if the Flash purchased a Tough Drive to be as quickly as him... This would be it...Now back to reality... LOL...OK... Turn on personal computer... There goes POST... There goes Windows 7 Logo... In Log In Screen now... Typed my password in... Holly Cow I'm already in the Desktop?!?! How fast was that??? 20 Seconds?!?! Looks at the difficult drive by way of case window in disbelief...Bottom line is... Almost everything is so significantly quicker... Snappier... Just Fast period...Kinda Reminds me of Newegg's shipping and consumer service...

Straightforward upgrade if you follow the directions. Flawless upgrade Intel X25-V 40GB (OS drive) to this 80GB drive with performance boost due to increased space. Excellent free of charge information migration software program on Intel internet web page. Went from Windows Encounter Index of 7.1 to 7.7 (where 7.9 is the highest). The data migration tool is particularly easy to use. Intel SSD read speeds are amongst the leading in the consumer SSD globe. They are excellent for running everyday apps and games. You have to make certain your firmware's up to date on the drive. Mine was. But I had to download the firmware update, burn the iso image and boot to the Intel firmware update application for it to tell me so. 1 item not documented was you won't see the drive in file manager when you 1st install it. You have to develop an unallocated MBR partition prior to running the migration tool (at least that's what I did). Perfect click on Personal computer - > Manage - > Storage - > Disk Management. It will locate the drive and ask what you want to do with it. I selected the default 'MBR' choice and clicked 'OK'. You don't will need to format this disk just before running the Intel Information Migration tool. Write speeds on the Intel drives are a small slow amongst the SSD crowd. This is the only reason I removed one egg. I was a small hesitant to try to swap out the C-drive utilizing the cloning software and without performing a clean install. I read quite a few factors about the 4k sector alignment and big performance hits if the cloning software does not honor the almighty 4k sector. I looked into various cloning software solutions and essentially decided on the Intel drive because of the totally free cloning software on the Intel support internet site (they say it only works if you have an Intel drive in your system - haven't tried otherwise). Also read several a forum post relating to issues men and women had cloning their OS drives.I am pleased to say that with this SSD to SSD upgrade, I had no problems. Unless you've done this just before, it's crucial you follow the directions in the Intel Information Migration Tool guide. There are not numerous steps to the method. It took me about 40 minutes from begin to finish. Also, make positive you remove the original boot drive prior to booting the machine to your new boot drive (in instructions).

They are SSDs, and the positive aspects of SSDs are a lot of. They don't run hot, they don't have to spin up, and they are Really Fast!My game loading times were decreased across the board, and Windows loads so rapidly I don't see the "Welcome" screen - boots straight to the desktop after the windows logo. :-) Naturally price and capacity. And life expectancy, but SSDs are so new there is no way to tell how long they will last. Don't let anybody tell you they know for positive a solid state can deal with 8000gb of throughput, or 10000gb, or any other number. We just don't know yet. I run two of these poor boys in a RAID setup in a store-bought Asus desktop. These drives have been worth just about every penny and then some.I am a gamer, and reducing loading times was my biggest aim when I bought a couple of these points. I often find myself waiting about for other people to load when I play Left 4 Dead two. It's a nice feeling :-)

This drive is incredibly quickly; I benched it at 260ካ mb/s sequential 500mb with CrystalDiskMark x64 before even installing SATA drivers. Wow. The disk is also recognized as 80.17gb raw space, so that's a nice bump too. It runs so cool that as a system drive I still can't tell it's been running by touching it--an additional name-brand SSD rated for 2w active .5w idle would heat up like a mechanical hard drive. When this 1 stated 150mW active, I was suspicious of the low rating. Temps alone make this extremely simple to think right after owning one. If you happened to not look at the pictures, it does come with a full length SATA cable, a really heavy, sturdy 3.five" drive adapter and five each and every of drive and case screws (they knew I'd drop one!) Oh, and the boss graphics "Speed Demon." It is still incredibly high-priced, but not too significantly above comparable capacity drives with poorer evaluation track records If you are concerned about power consumption or read-benchmark bragging rights, this is the drive for you.Still don't know what I'm going to do with the sticker...it's too massive to be a case badge and wouldn't genuinely look nice on anything else...hahaSpecs:win7x64gigabyte ga-ma790xt-ud4p4gb corsair xms3-ATI- 5750

"Egg"cellent Performance in Every Aspect I Have Observed So Far. No will need to hibernate anymore -shut down and restart is so quick!Even windows update needed restarts are tolerable nowő.6 on the WEI Drive Report - WOW! Waited too long to upgrade to this technology - although I'm not a 1st gen guinea pig anymore (been burned enough) Went with Intel vs. the other people due to history of DOA by other mfrs even although write speeds are not as high as some of the other people for the price. Not employing to store media anyway so writing isn't that huge of a deal to me. Program loading and OS is this baby's assignment and she's got it handled!

Raid 0'd this with another Intel 80gb ssd on a p55 system. Faster load times than with just the single ssd, but no TRIM support. The 3.5" to 2.5" adapter is average.
