KINAMAX USB-G1000 USB 2.0 to Ethernet Adapter
Comment:
Jim. You can't get 1000Mbs over USB since the max bandwidth is 480Mbs. This device merely allows you to connect to a Gigabyte network, as stated. However the 480Mbs connection is still much greater than the 100Mbs connection you normally have. If you MUST have 1000Mbs then you need a PCI card and you simply cannot use any USB device. Even Firewire tops out at 800Mbs. Half a gig transfer speed is still 4x better then a 100Mbs LAN connection so this is a great improvement for anyone with no free PCI slots on a Gigabyte network. |

please explain how you can receive 1000Mbs over usb that has a max of 480Mbs. even if you can have 480Mbs moving in both directions(dont know if this is possible) that would be 960Mbs. i need 1000Mbs one way for downloads over a gigabit intranet |
Got two for my office, get the job done and it is faster then the older 10/100 a lot. Good enough for me. Guess i am not a tough customer to please like my wife always say.
