Cons:-None

Pros:-Sounds great-Great price-Comfortable

Great value. I bought it for my father and he enjoys them more than his Bose Tri-Ports which broke within a year and cost far more.

Pros:Excellent sound quality. Lifetime warranty.

I bought these headphones to replace the hateful ear buds of an mp3 player. Excellent headphones. When my wife first saw these she said "I'll look like kazoo (fred flintstones alien friend) wearing these!". After listening to them she hasn't had any problem wearing them. Definitely recommend these headphones.

KOSS PORTA-PRO 3.5mm Connector Supra-aural Stereophone
Cons:Bit flimsy.

Pros:I thought about putting 'Super Awesome' in this box but that seems inappropriate, so I'll just say they are great headphones for 60 bucks.
Comment:
Some of the best headphones I've ever used, the sound that comes out of these little things is nothing short of astounding. I'd have given them a 5 easily but after about 10 months of owning mine I dropped them and they broke, nothing a little glue can't fix but still.

really, really happy with these. they sound great, they stay on your head, they're comfortable, and they look ok. what more could you ask for?the cord is a bit of an odd length, i suppose. 3ft is perfect to the pocket, 4ft leaves you with a bit of extra dangling around.

KOSS PORTA-PRO 3.5mm Connector Supra-aural Stereophone
Cons:- Foam pads are very cheap and can wear out quickly - way before the lifetime warranty expires. Haha. I don't think this is covered under lifetime warranty (I just bought a pair of $13 KOSS KSC35's and used the pads from those after about 3 years). The Koss UR5's may also use the same pads, and they are only $7.99 here at NCIX, at time of writing.- Sound leakage. People on the bus will either love or hate you.- Low sound isolation. Alot of external sound will pass thru these headphones and compete with your music. Particularly traffic, etc.- No microphone. (this is only a problem for those of us who love our PortaPros and want to use them EVERYWHERE). These would be ideal for gaming. They are MUCH more comfortable and sound MUCH better than most PC headsets that cost 3-5 times as much.- Asthetics might be a concern for some. You can tell when they were designed (~1980's) just by looking at them. hehe. But, retro is pop now, anyway.

Pros:- Great sound range (especially bass).- Great price (even when not on sale, but these go down to $39 on occasion)- Fit: Very comfortable and adjustable. Medium to tight fit sits well on the head. I can skateboard with these and rarely worry about these falling off. Even mountain bike if I didn't have to wear a helmet.- Extremely well built (apart from the pads)- Low sound isolation. At low volumes it's possible to maintain a conversation while still listening to your music- Lifetime warranty which you'll probably never need to use.

Simply the best portable headphones on the market if you factor price in. Most review sites compare the performance of these to 100-200 headphones from other companies (Grado, Sennheiser). This review was modfied by poster @ 07-25-08 11:58 AM

Pros:Sound quality

Fantastic pair of headphones. Great sound quality, solidly built, and the foam temple pads make them comfortable to wear for hours at a time. I had no idea how much detail I was missing from music until I put these on.

Cons:Look pretty dumb, not sealed.

Pros:Icredible sound. Really good all around, nice deep bass without sounding hollow, mids and highs are still there nice and crisp.Really comfy. I can easily forgot I'm even wearing them.Did I mention they sound incredible? Really, people, these things sound incredible.
Comment:
lifetime warranty! I've had my pair for years and this is my 'third' pair. The wires stiffened and broke after a few years on both pairs (possibly because I have a habbit of chewing them haha) and all I had to pay was shipping and Koss sent me a brand new pair.

KOSS PORTA-PRO 3.5mm Connector Supra-aural Stereophone
Cons:The top sliding part pulls on my hair when I slide it open (may not be an issue for everyone, I have very short hair).

Pros:Excellent sound quality, nice deep bass but not too loud. The best over-head set I've used for that price. Pressure adjustment a nice feature for extra comfort, and folds nicely for storage in included handy bag.
Comment:
I had my doubts about this pair before buying it, because I did not have a good experience with Koss in the past, as their product was not durable. But I was recommended these as I like bass (not the boom boom type, just traight bass), and often headset of this size do not deliver. This one is an exception as it DOES deliver. It's a nice light set, and it seems durable, as I have had it for a couple of years and are still in perfect shape. There is a 'pressure' setting for the speakers on your ears, which is a nice and unique feature, and they fold for storage, which is nice too if you carry it in a backpack (the wire does not get tangled with the rest of the bags content). The only complaint that I have really, is the fact that since they fold, you have to open them up first, and pull o them to get them opened enough to put on your head. At first, I had a tendency to pull on them after I put the set on my head, so that the earphones reaches down to me ears. This results in my hair being pulled by the top metal sliders. But you just have to learn to pull them BEFORE putting them on.I highly recommend.

KOSS PORTA-PRO 3.5mm Connector Supra-aural Stereophone
Cons:1. They can break if subjected to too much force.2. You can hear outside noise. (May be a plus for some people)

Pros:1. Very accurate tonal quality.2. Exceptional frequency response.3. Lightweight for what they do.
Comment:
I have three sets of these, including one for my Daughter. She complained about them looking "goofy" until she heard them. To give you an idea of how picky I am when it comes to headphones I own a pair of Etymotic ER 6 Isolators. I use them mostly, but favor the Koss as a close second.(Very different listening experience) There are only three headsets that are reviewed as very good quality consistently by the major audiophile publications. The Shure in the ear type, Etymotic and these. You would have to be smoking crack not to grab these at the sale price. *Grin*

Cons:Open-back-type headphone, so there is NO isolation, but sound quality is very good because of it

Pros:Very comrortableNice neat fold-up designgood sound qualityLifetime warranty
Comment:
Classic headphones from Koss. Very comfortable for hours of continuous use, very compact when folded, and the sound quality is good. Personally I prefer the SQ of the Koss KSC-75, but I have not been using the PortaPros long enough to really get used to their sound quality.Very highly recommended, and several cuts above your typical, much more expensive Sony headphones.

Cons:Hard to find

Pros:Fantastic sound, fantastic sound, fabtasic sound and comfortable too, good foldable design
Comment:
I've been using these for over 10 years. I am on my second set (the first ones were lost). I've used dozens of different headphones at lots of different prices. These are the best portables by a large margin. I'm a picky audiophile. As an audiophile, they have some colour, but for a portable they bring music alive and produce very little distortion. They are durable. I use they a lot and they just continue to function and they do have a lifetime warrantee! How many electronic items have that? Yes, they look a little goofy, maybe, but treat yourself. Life is too short for bad headphones. If I could give these 6 stars, I would.

Cons:bass is too strong on some recordings/equipment.

Pros:great sound, reliable, good for all sort of music
Comment:
I have these headphones for quite a while, actually I am on the second pair now. They are absolutely the best headphone for 50-60$ I have heard so far. Sound is very good for the price, there is a bit more emphasis on the bass (compared to way more expensive hp), but they produce really good sound. I keep coming back to them, and still find the sound stage they produce marvelous. Plus, they are easy to drive, so you can use them with good results even on the crappiest PM3 player you can buy...Buy them, they are keeper.

KOSS PORTA-PRO 3.5mm Connector Supra-aural Stereophone
Cons:hinges can break if pressured the wrong wayawkwardly breakable, even when foldedon tightest (both pressure and bass-wise) settings, your ears start to get sore after several hours of use

Pros:great sound for the pricedifferent pressure settings allow more outside sound in
Comment:
I got my first pair of these in college, although they were quite a bit more money back then though ($79). I still use them now. They're light enough to carry everywhere, and really do have nice sound. They also look wonderful, whether on your head or around your neck, a sortof other-dimensional retro look. Although they do fold, it's a pain to get them into their leather carrying pouch, as they come unclipped (and spring apart) with sideways pressure. The design is actually very sturdy, and they resist all kinds of damage - but only if you're wearing them. The wires are soldered to two large plates on each earpiece, and covered/clamped down by a plastic piece that can snap off if something snags the cables. So, it's pretty easy to fix most accidental damage. Once you take them off, however, they're at much greater risk. The multi-pressure design uses a hinge to allow the earpieces to swing out and away from your head, and the pads that grip your head above your ears. If you happen to sit on these even a little, the hinges can snap, and that's the end of them. Luckily, these goodies come with a lifetime warranty from Koss for the original owner.
