Save your money, this device is not that user friendly and after you finally get a picture there will be no QAM cable channels - only local ATSC channels forwarded by your cable company will be received. I have three other devices with digital tuners that can receive my QAM cable channels, so I know it is possible. I just needed something to convert an old monitor into a TV, but this is not it.

Comment:
It works exactly like advertised. The documentation included was not good but fortunately it is easy to set up. I also think the remote control is not particularly well designed for ease of use but again it's easy to understand.

The product does work as a basic tuner but it only found a few of the digital channels that are not encrypted. For this reason I find the unit dissappointing. If you only want basic channels and do not have any specific channel that you need to watch this unit is good. The resolution and clarity are very good but it needs improved ability to pick up digital channels. My other digital tuner tvs get many more channels.

Comment:
While the box does display the digital version of non-encrypted channels on the cable, it does not allow for viewing of all channels that are available even with a standard tuner in a television. I bought two of these and tossed the packaging before I realized the very limited channel display. I would recommend spending a few more dollars and get a small lcd TV.

The TV Tuner is Digital-only but these days there is still a lot of content on cable TV that comes only in analog format. If someone wants to use it exclusively for broadcast TV that might be ok, as long as he gets a better antenna than the one included with the product.

Comment:
The unit works for both QAM and ATSC signals, it will 'burn in' closed captions for display, but if you are making a recording and want the captions in the vertical interval (EIA 608, line 21) the unit we had will not do that insertion.

Comment:
The features are nice. But the instructions are absolutely useless. There is an antenna included but the reception is just ok. As with any digital TV, the real problem is the quality of signal. A good signal gives excellent reception.

I was looking for an HD tuner for a long time. This works great and has a great looking HD picture using component cables. If you just need a HD tuner to pickup over the air broadcasts, this one is great!

Received the KWorld TVBox in the usual speedy Tiger Direct fashion. Hooked it up to my XGA Video Projector via vga input and it worked very well. Only limiting factor is the quality of my present screen. At 80 inches picture is as good as the HDTV in the living room. Very pleased with item.

This QAM tuner is very basic, but it works perfectly. Basic cable channels of CBS, NBC, ABC and others broadcast in 720p HD QAM format. This tuner delivers perfect 720 resolution and color from my basic cable line. The sound is also simple stereo, but sounds perfect. A great value for under $100.
