Klipsch Promedia 2.1 THX Computer Speaker System 160W RMS
Cons:satellites cannot adjust it's orientation.

Pros:Very high quality
Comment:
It it wasn't for it's unmovable sattelites (they are fixed on their stand, can't rotate it in any way) those speakers are way higher quality that I am used to. Sound is sent everywhere in the room with the surround simulation of the creative X-Fi... A great buy. This review was modfied by poster @ 05-04-07 06:07 PM

Klipsch Promedia 2.1 THX Computer Speaker System 160W RMS
Cons:-Too many wires

Pros:-Crystal Clear Sound-Amazing Clean Bass
Comment:
I really really love these speakers. They sound amazing and the only computer I have right now is my laptop which has a horrible sound card. You really need a decent sound card to get true sound out of these. Very pleased with the speakers. Although these speakers are a fairly old model they still compete with any new speaker out there.

Klipsch Promedia 2.1 THX Computer Speaker System 160W RMS
Cons:Wires

Pros:Sound Quality, Bass (Subwoofer)
Comment:
Simply the best 2.1 computer speakers. I've had these speakers for about a month and am satisfied. Was hoping to upgrade to the monster cable but have not done so yet. Both highs and lows sound adequate to my ears. No complaints whatsoever as yet. I do sense a slight lack of midrange but found it easily adjusted by simply adjusting the equalizer on my pc to emphasize the midrange a bit more. No big deal at all there. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Klipsch Promedia 2.1 THX Computer Speaker System 160W RMS
Cons:Speaker wires are thin

Pros:THX Certified, Good Quality, Sound
Comment:
The ProMedia 2.1 is an awesome speaker set. The clarity, clean/tight bass, and very good mid-range can't be beaten. I've own the Logitech Z-2300 also and although they are decent, the Klipsch just sounds better and not as boomy and over-exaggerated. The speakers and the sub are of good quality and craftmanship too. You won't be disappointed.

Klipsch Promedia 2.1 THX Computer Speaker System 160W RMS
Cons:- Wiring is a bit all over the place- Sub Box is an awkward shape for my application

Pros:- Sound quality is amazing- All ranges are very rich.
Comment:
I picked up the speakers to work with my TV and MCE setup. I did not want a 5.1 system but I did not also want to depend on my TV's speakers. Put this on and was very happy with the product. Probably the best 2.1 speakers you can buy. The highs and mids are very crisp and the bass is very deep and can be very loud but then there is a bass control to tone it down for those late night movies so you don't wake anyone else up.My only negative note on these speakers are the wiring and how there are too many wires going everywhere. It could have been stream lined but thats just a minor thing that won't overshadow the overall quality of this product. Also the sub box was a bit awkward for my application, it didn't fit under the TV stand and has to sit a bit off to the side for all to see.

Klipsch Promedia 2.1 THX Computer Speaker System 160W RMS
Cons:-Bass is over bloated and tad slow when listening to fast bass lines.-Sub needs working in.-Wiring is a bit weird, and wish I could upgrade the cables.

Pros:+Good stereo imaging+Powerful+Best 2.1 computer speakers (not including home audio equipment)+Larger drivers than most computer speakers
Comment:
You really can't complain about these speakers. I picked up them up for $180 at NCIX just before Christmas w/ free shipping. I owned Altec Lansing 641's before, which had a bigger sub (dual 6.5" drivers, subwoofer was bigger than my computer case), and little tighter sub if I remember correctly (they died quite awhile ago), but the drivers were not even close to the Klipsch.I find the sub is way over exagerated. I roll off the bass in my EQ from 250Hz down in decreaments of 1db for each fader. So my 20Hz fader ends up at about -4db which I find much more realistic. I keep the subwoofer level at about 10 o'clock. I find this helps keep the bass from being over the top, and blends much better with the main drivers.I have to say the imaging is great on these. Being a musician, I popped in my bands CD and parts where the piano was recorded in stereo, I could hear the bass notes more in the left than the right, and higher notes more in the right. It's like I could imagine myself playing in the room, as if the piano was right there.I picked these over the Bose, Logitech's, Altecs, and Klipsch 2.0's. The closest thing to them was the Bose, but those were lacking in mids, but I found the bass to be less exagerated which I liked. But the bass can be tamed, so I opted for the Klipsch and have been very happy with my decision. Although I wish they had the Bose puck controller, I really liked that thing.I give 5 stars for great value, although once these die I'll probably move on to home audio equipment and get some B&W's.Edit: I don't have the sub in the corner, just incase you were wondering about the exagerated bass comment.Update #2: The sub took a long time to work in but things don't sound as bloated anymore, and it's much faster. :) This review was modfied by poster @ 01-24-07 10:34 PM

Cons:NONE!

Pros:Excellent sound quality with a good price...they just plain kick it!
Comment:
I'm completely shocked at the sound coming out of these speakers. They can go from loud and quiet and still sound amazing. I've had people over and had them cranked and they ask me how much I spent on my stereo system. I then point to the computer and their eyes go really wide! With these you don't have to empty your bank account to get awesome sound.

Klipsch Promedia 2.1 THX Computer Speaker System 160W RMS
Cons:annoying pop noise when turned on/off

Pros:very loud, lots of bass, cheap($130)along with line in, it has head phone jack and mp3/audio in
Comment:
i have to say these are very loud, i thought my creative soundworks were loud, these are 10x louder and way more bass, my walls, table, chair was shaking from all the deep bass, but sound quality wise its not that clear, but its good enough for how loud it is, and the price, cant go wrong, only problem was the loud pop noise when the power is truned on/off

Klipsch Promedia 2.1 THX Computer Speaker System 160W RMS
Cons:Not Very Accurate (Frequency wise)

Pros:Can Be Played Very Loud
Comment:
I was going to give these a three, but will go for a four.I have no idea what all the hype is about these speakers.First off, put the sub volume down until it's almost off. Position the sub at least 6 inches away from the wall. You MIGHT get accurate bass then. The bottom end on this system is stupidly out of balance. The high end is okay, except for the mids. The mids are not accurate. (Please understand, I have a seperate amp and JBL speakers so this is not a fair comparison)AS they were on sale, for the money I have to give them a 4.

Klipsch Promedia 2.1 THX Computer Speaker System 160W RMS
Cons:Cheaply made. Overpriced. Not good for music.

Pros:Klipsch name. Get loud. Best for gaming and casual music listening.
Comment:
I bought these at the boxing day sale price of $129.99. For this price they are a good value. Setup was straight forward. The Promedia 2.1s have a nice, unobtrusive appearance. They have plenty of power, get loud and have lots of slam. For non-critical music listening and gaming they are more than adequate, and should thrill most gamers with their low frequency WHUMP! But for my use they are a sonic disappointment. I use computer speakers mainly for music, and use an Auzentech Meridian sound card. Compared to my old Logitech Z680s in stereo mode and the Monsoon MM-700s, the Klipsch Promedia 2.1s lack high frequency extension, suffer from mid-range suck out, have poorer resolution and a constricted, less open soundstage. They just sound plain less musical. This could be in part to the cheap plastic construction of the satellite enclosures, the scrawny thin and non-replaceable speaker and signal wires the Klipsch's come with, and whatever other cheap construction is hidden in the subwoofer (which seems well made from the exterior). The lows are prodigious, but woolly and lacking control. Also, at their regular price of $249.99 the Klipsch are an exceptionally poor value. I wound up returning them.

Klipsch Promedia 2.1 THX Computer Speaker System 160W RMS
Cons:PriceCheap feeling satellites

Pros:Absolutely stunning sound quality and fidelity.Excellent mids, higs and lows.
Comment:
These speakers are just stunning. The sound quality is above most anything you can pick up today. In my opinion, they beat Logitech in every way. You can add more speakers if you wish to get a true 5.1 surround sound set-up.In terms of sound quality, I cannot find one single problem. I have them hooked up to an X-Fi Xtreme Music and they sound phenomenal. There are 2 problems though. 1 is the price. Obviously, they cost quite a bit; especially for a 2.1 system. Second is the cheap feeling satellites. While they do put out an absolute pristine sound, they feel cheap. They're light and very plastic. While they look great, just don't ask anyone to "feel the quality."

Comment:
I highly recommend these speakers, the best set of computer speakers I've heard. The highs, mids, and lows are clear with very little distortion at high volumes. The only real bad thing about these speakers is the power button location which is on the sub. With nice speakers like these low bitrate files arent very appealing, lossless is the way to go.

WOW. Just wow. I bought these on sale for ~200, and for the extra money these monsters blow away the logitech z2300s. I live in residence at UNBC, and have two roomies with 2300s. Mine outpound/outsound/outlook/outperform theirs completely. Not to say that the 2300's are poor speakers, but these are as flawless as you can get. Within one minute of turning these on while playing 'stealing fat'the people below me were pounding on the floor... How is that for going easy to start them off? I have yet to turn my set above 2/3 volume with windows at 1/2, but even then these will nearly make your ears bleed. ACDC on these will shut up any rap that people are blaring accross the way, and Wagner cannot be beat in the quality of sound department. These deliver everywhere with everything flawlessly like nothing else I have ever heard.Paired with a Audigy 2ZS and a set of zalmans for quiet gaming, I have an awesome setup. These are the plain, well dressed, professional that can do anything better than the flashy, unskilled type. Subtle, but 'perfect.' A good set of 2.1s are far better than any crappy 5.1s, so there is no reason to not pick up these superb, elegant, powerfull, beautiful speakers.

Ordered this for a friend, these puppies sound better than my home theather system. At main power at 25%, these things are soo loud, I wonder what max power would sound like :S. The sub pushes out quite a bit of air, and shakes the room. If you want the best 2.1, get these.

Klipsch Promedia 2.1 THX Computer Speaker System 160W RMS
Cons:-if I must pick one, then it's too bad that the bass rolls off sharply shy of 30 Hz. Some notes and harmonics in this range will be missing altogether, but most of them will be there, nice and tight. Can't expect any more from a computer sub though; the 5.1 ultras probably go a hair lower yet, but for a 6.5" driver, it's about as good as you can do.

Pros:-incredibly sound quality for a computer system-solid build quality-they actually have tweeters
Comment:
-definitely THE system to get (short of an actual stereo). If you're thinking about getting a cheap, awful quality 5.1 system (i.e. logitech z680 or any other logitech or altec), don't. These things will be far better for music, if you actually listen to sound quality. And likewise for games. Scrap the surround and get these, or get the Klipsch 5.1 Ultras.-these things are incredible through the high mids to the highs, FAR better than any other computer system I have ever heard, and I think I've heard them nearly all. this is because they actually have a tweeter, and the woofers in the satellites can do their jobs of covering the mid range with some accuracy as well.-you won't go wrong.-and they're LOUD !!! - without distorting !!!HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
