This does the job prety well the only problem was that that is did nore noise then other drive i used.

There's not much to say other than to say it is what it is. It's a DVD drive. It's fast and pretty quiet. I didn't get any major vibration going through my case when it was reading/writing discs.On the downside, it is a wee bit expensive for what you get. DVD drives are standard nowadays and this doesn't have any extra bells or whistles. Price match it for sure!

Very good DVD drive. It has not once failed a write on any of the dual layer discs. The write speed is very good and has worked with all burning programs I have used.

For the price, this LG DVD burner is a no-brainer. The quality of the brand is well known, and it does its job like it should be. but, compared to my old pioneer, it may be a little more loud

I have pretty fast rig (intel Q9550 j 2.83ghz, with 8gb ram). This is my 2nd LG dvd burner drive. The one already installed is IDE, and was the only device on the IDE cable. I installed this on the SAME IDE cable (set to slave), it will both burn, both read, but just not at the same time. I tried to copy two discs to my data drive at once and it lagged miserably. I chose to go IDE with my dvd burners, as they never reach the max for IDE channel speeds, and to save my 4 sata ports as i would like to run raid in the future. So beware, if you plan on getting two of these on the same IDE channel, even with correct jumper settings, they will not read at the same time.

Bang for your buck the best DVDRW on the market with software Nero...this drive never misses i have yet to burn a coaster.....26.00??? can u afford not to have a DVDRW?

A good, cheap and effective drive for your system. The IDE version is great for older computers; I picked one up for my family's system back home and still use mine with my brand new Asus P5K-EPU mobo.

Boy are non-BD burners getting cheap, especially on weekly sales! I purchased the IDE version to replace an ailing LiteOn DVD reader in a old Athlon system.Using DVDShrink and TDK DVD+R DL media, I backed up a couple of DVD movies at maximum speed, without compression (i.e. entire DVD, menus, extras, etc). Both worked flawlessly in my Panasonic combo player, and of course regular DVD readers on my PC and a laptop.I'd buy both SATA and IDE models again.

Bought this for my old P4 becauuse it was cheap, and has IDE connector while SATA is pretty much the standard now. Its a standard DVD burner, it works perfectly and you can't really go wrong at this price (25$).

If you have lots of DVD+R, this burner is for you, it loves DVD+R, even my cheapo Memerox and TDK have nice results but it hates DVD-R even Verbatim 16X DVD-R

with dvd burners all being around 30 dollars its tough which one to pick, this one works great and i've had a previous model in my older computer, and its still burning great even after 5 years

A good overall DVD burner, cant really ask for more of it at under 30$ came with all the right software to get starting to burn DVD and CDs

I did not have any problems writing CDs with this one yet. It is not the fastest or more silent drives around but it gets the job done. If you motherboard supports SATA please get a SATA DVD writer!!!
