This is a good, easy to setup router, altho, using a router has its downsides, for example, gaming, it could be a never-ending nightmare depending on which games you play, another topic is video conferencing (netmeeting) routers are having problems with these, as NetMeeting uses H.232 protocol and it's not easily supportable. Altho, this router does it's router job for a home and possibly a small (very small) office network, or an office network with a switch. |

Cons:Sometimes gets jammed up and you need to power cycle it. Run's a little hot when you've got a constant 150+ connections
Pros:Simple to use but has complex features. Comment:
Nice and easy to flash the newest firmware into it. Had a little problem with it at the beginning with the power adapter but sent it back to linksys to get a replacement. Works extremely well especially under load. Currently doing a constant 150+ connections flawlessly while the other 2 stations are unaffected by the traffic. A little hot however, it over heated because I blocked the air vents with a stack of paper once.Since I plan on adding more computers to my home I'll need to buy another. Thinking about the wireless model to add on ;) |

I used this for 3 years before recently retiring it in favor of a hardware firewall solution. It worked well for the time I had it, many other people I know of with the same router had issues with connectivity or DHCP or various other issues, I only had it cause connectivity problems on me 1 time in 3 years. Certainly no complaints here. The web interface for configuration works well and as expected. |

This router is pretty good. Made by Cisco, which is the reason why I bought it in the first place. However, I couldn't use it for 6 months while Linksys was coming out with a new Firmware version that caused the Router to loose its IP every 5 min due to the new type of ADSL technology that is out now. A real pain, and had to use a friend's until this one finally worked.Also, I wish it had MAC address forwarding and DCHP assignment. This would make my server setup a lot easier. But that's just a small workable option that might be available in later firmware versions. |

This router is good for the beginning computer user. It makes the internet easy to route. just plug it in and setup all your computers to obtain ip and it does all the work.An excellent feature in this is a built in firewall which works with zonealarm, you can configure which ports are open and which are closed as well as the type of security it gives you.this router also is very flexable. if you don't want to route internet to a computer you can change it. it's that simple. I found this router has less collision than others.overall a good buy. |

This is a nice router its so inexpensive that the problem with my network card isnt worth spending more to buy a different one, i was so please that when i opened the box, i plugged inthe power and the network cables, and there Voila, all three xp computers recognize it simultaenously,and then all i had to do was set internet explorere to lan, and everything was ocnnectted, no speed problems (only with one comptuer because of its lan card) and i just love it, the only thing that would make it better is if it were wireless |

I've owned this router for almost 2 years now. It was a snap to setup my 3 computers to the router and my DSL modem. It runs fine on my network which now consists of a total of 6 computers and 2 Playstation 2s. It is very easy to use the routers features such as DMZ, port forwarding, and more. The only downfall is that my router sometimes stops to work and requires a reset. This might be that my router is defected though. Otherwise, it is a great router. I would prefer Linksys over other companies such as SMC. |

This thing is great for internet connection sharing if the users are browsing the internet. However, it seems incapable of reliably handling 3 users using bittorrent, DC, or the gnutella network. I've disabled the DHCP server in it because that likes to fail about one every two weeks. Don't buy this router if you have multiple technical people living in your house. |

In general, if you are looking to build a home network and want to share a broadband connection, Linksys is a great choice. This particular router is as easy and functional as they come. Plug it in, navigate to it using your web-browser, set a few easy options up, and bingo. You're online and able to share you connection between 4 PCs. This router will also add a significant amount of security to your connection - blocking worms and viruses before they can get near your computer. This router will also give allow you to connect your PS2 or X-Box alongside your PC so everything can be online at once. Excellent product. |

I had one of my ports just die on me and have seen it on other people's routers of the same type... Of course, I do tech support and see this problem with a lot of hubs/switches/routers. The tech support was fairly useless and it was not worth the effort or delay to mail it to them in the states to have it fixed/replaced. For the price though, a decent router with good admin options. I'd purchase it again. |
This is by far the best router i have used. It was extremely easy setup and light so i can travel with it :). I did have some problems at the beggining but i wasnt being very smart, by opening box and plugging it in and it didnt work? Well thats why i read the manuals from now on. Gg software gg. Run the setup and it works perfectly.
