Buyer Beware
Comment:
This product suffers from overheating resulting in frequent dropped connections. Bought this router to replace my WRT160N and have had nothing but issues. Updated the Firmware but no help. Support was no help either. A lot of squawk about this router on the linksys boards, and other tech support sites and the bottom line this router is poorly built. The USB Hard Drive connector is a nice feature when it works, saves from having to have a computer on all the time to stream media to Xbox or PS3, but again with dropped connections it becomes worthless. I am taking this router back and going to look into a different product.

This item allows me to watch movies online with better qualities and pictures. It also helps my whole wireless network with much better speed and best signal to everything including my music.

Excellent, both 5GHz & 2.4GHz working great
Comment:
Cisco/Linksys makes great products. The just release an update to fix a DNS problem. The WiFi router is running great and is now one of the more secure WiFi routers on the market. -- Future wish list, * add support for external antenna * add optional web-based login for shared access * add a logging daemon to forward real log information to PC or Unix platform.

Best Router Ever
Comment:
I got mine and the installation process was so easy. The performance is excellent. I'm using wire and wireless devices and with Media Hub attached to it and it works great. Gaming thru the internet is great also and security options excellent too. Very happy with it and it look cool on my desk.

Best Linksys Router Yet
Comment:
I've worked my way through four Linksys Router's over the last ten years and they have ranged from a good to an excellent experience. This is my second N-band router with Storage Link and by far outperforms the first. I was worried that the range on this one would suffer from the first as the antenna is far less obvious than the three antennas that protruded from my first router. In fact, I get more range from the subtle antenna built into this router. It requires a reboot far less often than the N650 did and the link to the external hard drive is also far more dependable. They seem to have worked on the firmwear on this one a bit longer than usual before rolling it out. A strong recommend.

Linksys WRT610N Simultaneous Dual-N Band Wireless Router
Comment:
Easy to set up. Great features: I especially like being able to set up two separate networks with different security types and passwords. This allows me to have a b/g network with WEP for my legacy devices and an N network with WPA2 for my laptops. You could as easily set up 2 separate N networks and let your media streaming use one with your data on another to prevent dropped frames and still maintain high bandwidth for data. Unfortunately, the signal strength and speed are significantly worse than my previous wrt54g router. With the old router I got a G signal at 90-95% with transfer rate 54Mbps from 35ft away through one wall. With the WRT610N I get 65-70% strength with G rates of 24-36Mbps and with N I get 54-108Mbps. This is consistant, tested with several computers. I have been deeling with computers and networking for two decades and this is the best performance I can coax out of this device. Bottom line: awesome features, below average performance.

Linksys WRT610N Simultaneous Dual-N Band Wireless Router
Comment:
Easy to set up. Range about the same as wrt54g but speeds are better at same distance. Lela software included is nice. Overkill if all you have is 1 computer but great for folks with lots of networked devices in the home.

Nearly a professional grade router but way more than most people need. Unfortunately, my first one died after only a month of use. There may be quality control issues.
