Logitech M570 Wireless Laser Trackball 1XAA
Comment:
It is almost everything I anticipate from Logitech. Functions instantly and as promised. I plugged it in, and it was ready to use in seconds. Certainly no complaints with function. No cons. I took one egg off for what might be a private preference, listed below 'other'. This is barely a 'con'. I would have taken off a half-egg if it had been possible. My home is littered with Logitech mice, keyboards, and other devices. The M570 is the very first Logitech item I have ever purchased that feels 'cheap'. I do not know whether or not this is a all-natural result of advances in circuitry, and so on, so that there are fewer guts inside. Whatever the cause, when I heft it and use it, it feels flimsy, lightweight and low cost. Logitech devices typically feel as though they would survive a nuclear blast. The M570 feels as although it is going to self-destruct if I knock it on the floor. Maybe this is what the majority of buyers want. I do not.

Bought this trackball because my microsoft mouse die(ish) stop workin from time to time and i figured why not try trackballs which i've grown to love its fast and precise this one is thumb which have a normal mouse shape, the battery seems to last long as of the use i make of them i may change them once every 8-12 month so its great for me but still i would have loved a wired version of this

I have owned just about every consumer version of Logitech's Trackman since they began promoting them. I at present own about 7 for all the various machines I use. This is a substantially necessary update to the prior wireless Trackman Wheel. The new transceiver is substantially a lot more handy and apparently powerful. I haven't had the signal drop out but. The M570 Trackman feels rather similar to the wired Trackman Wheel which for me is a very great thing. The buttons are a fine addition and are located in a excellent position as they do not interfere if I opt for to ignore them. The new color scheme has a kind of biometric metallic look which is expanding on me. If I get a wireless keyboard in the series, I really like that I don't have to tie up a second USB port. I specially like that it has a storage compartment for the transceiver. I program to get one for my laptop and take benefit of this. Setup was plug and play, no extra computer software required. No bluetooth support. Truly Logitech? This would have been amazing for use with my Thinkpad.Logitech has not updated the wired version yet so whilst this is not truly a con on this distinct item, it is for the product line. The old red and black specked ball is the very same size as the new blue and functions just fine. The red ball appears to track at a lower resolution. The blue ball does NOT operate in the old models. This is no reflection either way on the product, just fascinating. The blue ball seemed a small rough till I got enough human oil on it to lubricate the get in touch with points. I have found this to be true of the prior models too.

Comfy. Lowered RSI possible. Set it and forget it; no sleep/wake troubles with OS-X ten.5.8. No middle button horizontal scroll capability (or auto-scroll). Men and women with thumb control may possibly have issues, and some people won't admit the trackball is a superior mouse. I owned the original Trackman (ps2) and lost touch with it following the advent of USB. Lengthy hours and soreness near my elbow joint compelled me to buy it again. Inside two weeks I already really feel much less discomfort.

Nice size, receiver storage inside the mouse, power-saving, space saving, mobile, quickly packable. A wonderful wireless mouse. The trackball ball itself could be a bit bigger, comparable to the Microsoft Trackball Explorer of old. Otherwise it's fantastic. I had constantly been a fan of MS Trackball Explorer, but now that they are uncommon and high priced I have moved on to the Logitech M570 Trackball. It is a great move (I just will need to get utilised to working with my thumb to operate the trackball and not my pointer & index finger).

Wireless, Cool blue trackball, comfy buttons, firm scroll wheel. Fits my hand excellent. None I can assume of. UPS lost my 1st trackball, and Newegg stepped proper up and sent out a different at no charge. Thanks Newegg! Now onto the trackball, nice, comfortable and scroll wheel functions good. I had a new Microsoft wireless mouse and the scroll wheel sucked. It felt loose, and half the time it didn't register when I would scroll it. I play EQ2 with my son and I can play the game with ease employing this trackball. You have to adjust the trackball sensitivity as it's a small on the sensitive side but functions excellent. I'd get a different with out hesitation.

Definitely the greatest input device I've ever used. High precision for games and graphics. My initial 1 had the red ball and utilised an led; this one utilizes a high precision laser resulting in an particularly smooth response, and no friction at all, as even though it's hovering in the air. The thumb side design beats any other design considering that your thumb can be Very precise, and it in no way gets tired. Never ever be concerned again about operating out of space on the table at a crucial point in a game, or jerking the pointer though you're attempting to take advantage of what small space you have. Fantastic for older folks with hand control concerns. Practically every person that I've got to Try 1 has bought one and never ever regretted it.The buttons are usually crisp, even immediately after years of use. Really simple to clean since you just pop out the ball and blow out the dust, then it's back to new condition. I believe it's unfortunate that there aren't additional persons realizing the benefit of the trackball design. I purchased my very first one after getting ct in my wrists and shoulder, but also mainly because I read an post where it was praised as superior to employing a mouse and keyboard for games. This is the only 1 of it's kind; I hope I never ever lose a resource for a replacement, which may be never with its extreme durability. If you drop the ball on the floor or get scratches on the ball, you will be annoyed by the grainy feeling. Just be cautious. I had terrible ct in my wrist and shoulder, until a few months of making use of the prior model with the red ball practically cured it. The old 1 used an led sensor, but this one has a high good quality laser, and I could feel the difference instantly.I am SO glad they didn't cease producing these, and instead made it greater. I would be devastated if they stopped creating these.

Range is wonderful, at the moment 12 ft from pc w/no problems. I also bought a Logitech K800 wireless keyboard at the identical time. It comes w/a cable to extend the rf sensor connection. I set this on top of PC- supplies a lot of flexibility and helps making sure signal reached destination. Purchased mainly for use w/HTPC, but also use it for gaming and common use w/out issue. Scrolling and clicking seem to function w/out noticeable delay. None Will be curious to see if battery life is as excellent as advertised. Only used it for about 6 weeks and not heavily so though no battery replacement so farm wouldn't anticipate it.

Works considerably far better than the last wireless mouse logitech came out with. I like the small receiver.Extra buttons is a good touch (something I loved with the Microsoft trackball back in the day). Ball is not as smooth as the red ball on the wired trackball but does not stick or cause any concerns so it's not a enormous problem. If it was as smooth as the red ball I'd give it 5 stars. I was hesitant about acquiring this as reviewers have stated it's smaller than the wired trackball and the ball doesn't glide as smooth. Some reviewers have also stated that the buttons get in the way.In truth, it's not considerably smaller and I don't find the buttons in the way.I strategy on getting an additional one for my desktop.

I bought this for my house laptop, which I use mostly on the couch. I was utilizing a tiny laptop style mouse, but was having hand concerns as my thumb was constantly trying to wrap about the small mouse. I switched to the trackball and was quite surprised how rapidly I got utilized to it. Day to day PC browsing is outstanding. I also play WoW, and was surprised at how nicely it worked for in game controls. I'd say it took possibly 2 weeks (if not much less) for me to be totally comfortable with it. And the ache in my hand subsided. Suggested!!! Wasn't totally free. ;)

It worked. Out of the box within 5 minutes I had it connected and operating nicely with another Logitech Keyboard on the exact same Transceiver(?). The Ball DOES really feel rough, and challenging to move compared to my previous Trackball. Though I believe it's just from a lack of human oil buildup on it. And probably microscopic rough imperfections on the ball that will be smoothed more than with use. It is smaller, but getting modest hands I can't definitely dock that. I am biased towards the ball enhancing based on getting to replace a trackball or two in the past. I'm just glad to finally have a 2.4ghz Trackball to be honest...

Works. When you've used a trackball for seriously every thing, it's hard to go back to using a regular sort of mouse for something significant. Software is nice. Can significantly improve ball precision.Truly not a lot else to say here, does every thing that it is supposed to do. As other people have stated, shape is different enough so that it makes it uncomfortable for men and women with larger hands. It is one thing that can be adjusted to, but I don't see the reason for going to smaller and smaller input devices.Wireless tech is still bad, but obtaining far better all the time. The way I have my desk setup, I consistently find myself getting in the way of the mouse. I could change my setup, yeah, but doesn't that kind of defeat the purpose of wireless? One of only a couple of trackballs being sold; You genuinely don't have a option.

The curve shape makes it good and comfy for lengthy periods of use. Two added buttons are mappable to whatever you desire. Like anything new, your going to need to have time to adjusts to the new device. Thank the gamer makers logitech keeps making trackballs. Big trackball user and I needed an updated one.

Unifying Receiver, Laser tracking, off switch, smooth contours, two far more programmable buttons than the old Trackman Wheel. Takes the good confirmed design of the Trackman Wheel and improves on it. Not necessarily a negative, but it is about ㅂ% smaller than the Trackman Wheel. For those with bigger hands, I'd suggest making use of a Trackman Wheel, supplied your OK with a cord or massive wireless dongle and LED tracking. For this reason, I'll in all probability not replace the Trackman Wheel on my function PC. I currently own 4 Trackman Wheel mice (two cordless for my work PC and my dwelling HTPC, two corded for my work and private laptops). The two reasons I use the corded version with my laptops are that the cordless has the big RF dongle and no off switch. The M570 changes all that, getting both an off switch and a tiny receiver that even has a storage space in the battery compartment. Some critiques differ, but for mine the ball moves actually smooth. Based on past expertise, some logitech trackballs new out-of-box might move a small rough, but with use smooth out.1 final thing, the ball is interchangeable with the Trackman Wheel, if you just can't deal with the blue ball. ;)

Cons:since there is a ball, it must be cleaned occasionally...takes me back to days where laser mice didn't exist, to get over this minor annoyance, you would have to go for a touchpad...eeeck.

Pros:After using it for about 2 weeks, I noticed alot of pain go away from my shoulder and elbow...pain I never noticed before....until it was gone....I'll never go back to a traditional mouse on my main desktop again.

If you like trackballs, then you'll love this one....I haven't used a trackball since the days of Apple II's, and I missed it.....took me a little while to get used to it....but now I'm much more precise than with a traditional mouse.

Okay, if you like trackballs, THIS is your mouse!I have had an older Logitech trackball for eons now and still works as it did when new....this new one is for another computer, not for replacement. Very comparable construction so I suspect this one will last for years as well.Nice thing about these trackballs is the base does NOT move on the table top....an awsome feature on a crowded desk like mine ;)The trackball precision is great, only downside to a 'newbie' trackball user would be the sore thumb the first bit...after that you're golden!

Cons: Thumb control takes a bit of getting used to (for newbies).Right-hand only.

Pros: It just works...flawlessly.Doesn't need a typical "surface" to glide on, and requires no arm or wrist movement.
Comment:
I've long been an avid proponent of the thumb-controlled Logitech Trackman wheel - both the original corded and cordless versions (silver-grey with red thumbwall). I moved to them years ago, after far too many hours of Baldurs Gate and Neverwinter Nights (with a traditional mouse) left my right wrist a daily aching mess. I've long since moved on from the 20 hour gaming marathons, but the Trackman Wheel has stayed with me (I have three of them now). I was thrilled to hear that Logitech was refreshing the line, with the M570.This one was very easy to set up. Just pull the tab out of the bottom of the trackball, allowing the (included) battery to make contact, and turn it on. Then, plug the mini-USB receiver into a USB port, give it 40 seconds to load the drivers, and PRESTO...its working flawlessly. Even the "forward and back" buttons work properly without configuration (only tried in Firefox). I had no need to install the Setpoint or Unifying software, since it all worked out of the box.Ergonomically, it fnctions and feels almost identical to the old Trackman Wheel. The ball is a bit stiff for the first 2 minutes of use, but loosened up with a few spins, and is now smooth as silk. Control is very precise and predicatble (though I'm quite used to thumb control by now). Others have said the scroll wheel is stiff... I don't find that to be the case, but maybe I'm just used to the feel of it. Also, others have said the buttons are noisy... Frankly, the buttons have a quieter and more muted sound than the original, yet still have a satisfying click to them. The trackball's edges are a bit rounded off, compared to the old model - and I think I like the change. Overall, the two trackballs are very similar. My biggest gripe (if you can call it a complaint), might be that the new M570 just doesn't do THAT much more than the old one. Overall, if you have an old one which is working well for you, unless you really need the forward and back buttons, there's not much point in upgrading. The unifying receiver might also give you some additional flexibility. In my case, THIS trackball is more ideal for a few reasons:-no wrist fatigue / pain-can be used on a "surface" like my lap, or the arm of my theater room chair. This allows me to surf / game without needing a table in front of me.-the new USB receiver fits nicely into the USB ports on the side of my wired Steelseries keyboard. As such, the trackball's receiver is about 2-3 feet from the trackball, rather than the 12-15 feet with the old model. In some cases, when the battery was running low, I used to get erratic trackball movement. Time will tell (18 months on the new model's AA battery lifespan, apparently), but I anticipate less problems now that the two are closer. People with nearby microwave ovens / phones on 2.4GHz may see a similar advantage.Overall, I'm very happy with the new model. Having used this one for a few days, I don't see any reason to upgrade the one at the office (yet), but the old office one is7 years old...surely it will break some day... On that note, Logitech probably won't make any money from the M570, if this model proves to be as durable as the old one.In short, I'm highly satisfied with this model - it succeeds in making some small improvements in an already brilliant design.
