Logitech Z-5500 5.1 Speaker
Cons:pisses off the neighbours, massive, price

Pros:Cheap, sound great, pisses off the neighbours
Comment:
My roof sounds like it wants to fly off if I turn these up. They sound amazing, suddenly MP3 isn't good enough anymore. The sub is huge, make sure you got a spot for it, and being so heavy it costs an arm and a leg to ship. The price is cheap, but the price hasn't moved at all for 3 years.

Logitech Z-5500 5.1 Speaker
Cons:Sub is quite heavy

Pros:Amazing soundPlenty of wire length for the speakersRemote Control
Comment:
The sound quality on this speaker system is simply amazing, even at very high volume it still sounds great. I read a review (probably of an older model) where it said the speaker wires were permanently attached to the satellites and used an RCA connector to connect to the amp; i was pleasantly surprised when I saw that they all used strait through wires on both ends all detachable, much easier if I ever need to replace the wiresI am very pleased with this purchase, I price matched down to $240 and got the $6 shipping with the Christmas in July sale, got a VERY good deal :D

Cons:could use more inputs

Pros:sound and product quality
Comment:
Fantastic speakers... great sound and performance for such a cheap package. Only con is that it could use a few more inputs if you use it for your main home theater. However, this can be overcome with an optical audio-in cable splitter etc

Logitech Z-5500 5.1 Speaker
Cons:- Bass is too strong on factory settings- Sound still not as rich as wood speakers

Pros:- Surround- Inputs- Power- Long wires
Comment:
Hi,I,ve a an Altec Lansing 641 (4.1 kit) for years. It had 2 6" subs and great satellites. The Z-5500 is greater for surround sound for movies and games, but when it comes to music, my Altec are much better.I'm using the speakers as a surround sound system for my PS3 (DVD, games, music, Blu-Ray) and for the HD cable content.Had a great deal at 199$.

Logitech Z-5500 5.1 Speaker
Cons:-Can be overwhelming in a small room (500w RMS, duh?)

Pros:-Very loud if you want them to be-Remote control (individual volumes for rear, center, sub, and more)-5.1 Dolby Digital (optical input) for movies is amazing, games for xbox 360 are amazing as well-Long, easily connectible speaker wires.
Comment:
I previously owned the Z-5300's and had purchased an xbox 360, badly wanting 5.1 for it. Upgraded (sold the others) so I could have the extra inputs from the pod, but there are so many other things I love about these speakers. The only weird thing was after first setting up the speakers I noticed they produced quite an ambient humm which came from the subwoofer. It's very hard to notice unless your close to it however it's just recommended that you make sure the subwoofer is a good 2' away from you at least. I have a smaller room, the corner is much better, still works amazing. The volume range is incredible (as you've probably heard), remote control is very handy, control pod is stylish and acts as a hub for different inputs, optical sounds amazing, and finally sub is very powerful. I love the quality of optical for my xbox 360 (got the very best cable quality) and movies/games sound better than anything I've heard. Paired with an X-fi Xtreme music on the computer the analog sound that comes from the Z-5500's is different than the Z-5300's, which I noticed first when playing music. The Z-5500's sound 'truer' to the actual music. What that relates to is some worse encoded music sounds better on the 5300's than the 5500's, where's CD quality music/higher quality music sounds much better on the Z-5500's. You can tweak settings or just make sure your music library is good quality and these will sound great.Defiantly best speakers I've owned, wouldn't doubt the purchase for a second. Logitech Z-5500 5.1 Speaker
Cons:None really, other than MABEY the size. The Pictures are fairly deceiving (Sub is HUGE! but who gives?!)

Pros:Crisp, "clear" soundPowerful satelitesVERY powerful Sub-Woofer (INSANE)Very low cost/perfomance ratio
Comment:
I just received the Z-5500 earlier today, and: HOLY CRAP!! I was astonished at the size of everything; it's all much bigger than I'd expected, but when your talking audio, large size is generally better (funny how lots of things are like that: Speakers, TVs... I'll leave the rest of the list up to you). Anyway I could probably break every window in the house with these speakers, but I'd rather not try that out. As I'm writing this review, I'm listening to "Rage Against The Machine - Guerillia Radio" and I'm hearing aspects of the song that I never had before, even with studio quality headphones! It's loud enough that my ears should start bleeding any time now, and that's with the volume set as follows: 'Overall volume (Computer/Z-5500 combined volume)- ~5-7% of max output'Trust me; I did the math, but here's the individual volume percentages.'Sub-Woofer-40%', 'Center-0% (old sound card won't support surround; new one's in the mail)', 'Sourround (4 corner speakers)- 45%', 'General system setting (z-5500)- 20%', 'Computer (media player and sound card setting)- 30%'Overall; one of the best sound system I've heard in a very long time, plus; it's SO MUCH CHEAPER than any other good 5.1/7.1 out there (I got mine for only $200, plus tax)If I could give higher than 5 stars, I probably would, because it performs so well for so little money.

Pros:Great Sound
Comment:
Had these speakers and they stopped working after about an hour. The decoder inside the control center stopped working. After hours of trying to get them to work again, tried coaxial, input, optical input into my PS3 nothing works anymore. they were good for about the hour they did work. Plugged my Old ZX-530 speakers back in and they worked perfect so I know it's not a setting in my PC. This review was modfied by poster @ 03-24-08 07:47 PM

I got this to replace two sets of speakers, one for my computer and another for my 360. It's great to have one set that can do both and sound great at a very affordable price. I was very surprised at what I was missing from my 360. Grenades and explosions sound amazing!

Pros:Please see summary below,tx
Comment:
The price is great. If you are looking for great sound than I would say this system is average at best. The speakers are small and sound tinny. The sound is not well matched from the speakers to the sub. It sounds hollow.I also had to return the first set because a speaker stand was missing. The remote must be pointed directly at the sensor for it to work. Not sure why you need a remote. All I can say is that you get what you pay for.

Logitech Z-5500 5.1 Speaker
Cons:-the sub box is rather big-have to know how wiring things together (very easy for me)-no optical cable included

Pros:-very loud-digital connect for amazing quality-true 5.1 speakers-look very nice-quality wiring-compact speaker size-remote control included
Comment:
These speakers are amazing, the sound card and the connection type makes a huge difference in sound volume and the quality of the sound. An Audigy 2 was a lousy sound card for these, the sound wasn't very loud. I connected it to a quality optical sound card and all I have to way is WOW!!! amazing sound quality and super loud. These are the best speakers I've ever used for a computer system and even make many home theater sound systems of good quality look bad. If you want the best and want it for a good price this tops them all. There is no optical cable included but for the price and this much quality I couldn't have really expected it. Cons:Need for the I/O convertor if you own a Sound Card without a Digital Coax or Optical out.

Pros:For Under $500 you will not find a better set of speakers for your computer anywhere!
Comment:
These are the Best Speakers I have ever owned. I price matched them and got a great deal! All the speakers put out nice clean sound and have great surround sound output. This set allows you to "Turn it up to 11" and that SUB will shake your house! If you have limited space these are not for you, the Sub is huge and the speakers take up room as well. Also do your self a favor and don't get this unless you have a good sound card. But if you enjoy Music or Gaming, GET THESE NOW!
