Don't waste your money on this. I bought one for my Powermac G4. It showed up fine in Leopard, but then I started having problems. I am constantly getting ''USB Overcurrent'' warnings telling me that the USB port will be disabled. Only 3 of the 5 USB ports actually work. My Mac either shuts off the rest or they just don't work. A word of warning for Mac users: Don't buy any USB cards with a VIA or ALI Chipset. They almost always have problems with Macs. Get a card that has the NEC chipset. Overall, an okay card for the price. only 3 out of the 5 ports work and it's giving OS X overcurrent warnings. Save your money for a decent USB card.

This USB card is great! I have a USB inkjet printer, USB speakers, and 2 USB flash drives. This PCI card detects them all and works sonic fast. Hint: if you're having problems with your PCI USB extension card, the PCI slot on your mobo might not work. Consider that before you try to take the card back. I'm glad I decided to keep the card instead. Thanks again TigerD!

Some had luck buying this USB2 PCI card. I for one lost my gamble. The card freezes the machine about once a day, or whenever it has to handle a few minutes of transfer. I have tried it with different drivers, in different slots, have taken it out to test the machine with another card for a few days and tried it again after, three times. The card is the culprit. The only thing I haven't done is to try it on another computer. No more time to waste with this 12$ card. To the wastebasket it goes.

I purchased two of these sorry pieces of equipment. They have not worked properly in any of the 6 computers I have tried them in. Masscool technical support will not respond to emails or phone calls. I will assume I am stuck with two pieces of junk.

The product worked as promised and I have had it running for a few months now. I have mainly used it for connecting my digital camera and my flash drive and I have not had one problem. It is worth the $10.

Have it plugged in and works in general, but does not recognize my 160GB external hard drive. First I had a hub plugged into one of its ports, and it would refuse to recognize a 256mb flash drive I have when I plugged it into the hub. When the flash drive was plugged into the adapter directly it would work normally. Your mileage may vary. n.b. devices were not high drain...I think the VIA chipset is problematic

I've had this card for over a year. It's worked well for the most part, but one of the USB ports stopped working about 4 months ago. The other three still work, and other than that it's been okay, and has worked as expected.

I bought this to use an external hard drive with a dell machine. Access to the external drive was slow (caused paging issues). Used another brand, no issues. Hard drive works with other computers with no issue, can only assume the USB 2.0 card was the problem--tried updated drivers from manufacturer with no luck. Your mileage may vary.

Tried this out in a 1996 IBM running Win98, and after getting the driver it worked fine. All the ports seem to work, installation was pretty easy (just hard to push in, being so short...), and I haven't got any real complaints. By the way, I agree with Joseph007, the driver CD is pretty useless. If you really need a driver for the card, just go to the Masscool website and get it there. Other than that, it works pretty well for $12!

Don't waste momeny on this crap. It dosen't recoginzed my 3.25 USB drive when I have more than 30gb of content. Nothing but trouble, get something better.

EXTEREMELY PLEASED!!!! Installed seamlessly as soon as XP booted. I love the internal connection that allowed me to put a USB port on the front of my computer. Super buy for the price.

I'm running this card on a Mac G4 with 10.2.8 and it is working great, I did load the VIA drivers (as insurance) before I plugged it in. Very happy with the card and my USB 2 devices are running at full speed. Great card, good price and it recognizes everything. It's just what I needed!

It's brainless and easy. Works out of the box on XP w/o having to open the mini CD. Port speeds are as described. Attached to a USB drive, an MP3 player, a large external USB hard drive and a digital video cam and it works 100% and recognizes everything as it should. Card is small and inexpensive, looks to be built fairly durable.

The only reason this thing gets a 3 is because the CD that comes with it that has the drivers on it is impossible to navigate. It looks like the company put all the drivers for all their hardware they make on this disk, and send it out with everything. Other than that, works flawlessly, low profile in my case, and you cant beat the price.

I bought this because my computer had slower usb ports. It plugged in fine, the pc recognized it and it works fine. Much faster then 1.1. Great product and a great price.
