Great cooling even for a all in 1 system such as the Vaio W600G. Took temps from stock cooler at 60 at idle to 57 below complete load. Had to make a couple of modifications to the case, but properly worth it. NONE!!! If you will need an older cpu fan this is the 1 to get. I got this old system from an individual and this tiny cpu cooler has been good!!! The technique I place it in is a pcv-W600G all in one desktop. I had to cut out a section on the situation behind the screen, but no huge deal you can't see it anyways, and it created a huge distinction in temps. Also, Very QUIET!!

i've built three-5 systems, but this is the very first time i wanted to replace the cpu fan; had an intel two.four celeron stock on a 478 socket; it was operating at 57c, just word processing and net use; this fan coupled with arctic 5 brought it down to 'bout 37c, which is good the rpm avg is 3668 and this factor is extremely loud, which I did not want it works at getting your cpu cooler, but it is really loud due to high rpms; directions are self explanatory, except; to get the stock fan off recall to take the clips completely off prior to trying to twist the fan & heat sink off the cpu

Newegg shipped fast as usual. Wouldn't fit my motherboard. My fault for not checking heat sink dimensions a lot more closely. Wish I could have discovered a way to make this item operate with my setup without a lot of hassle but I couldn't see 1. Says it's for a socket 478 CPU but I have learned not all socket 478 CPU's use the same heatsink supports. Couldn't get the RMA page to work to return this item even even though it showed to be eligible to return. Newegg worked with me to my satisfaction to get a refund. I won't let this stop me from ordering from Newegg again. I won't take any eggs off the rating for my errors. It looks like a fine cooling unit, and I am positive it would function fine for the proper set up.

Beats the shi'ite out of a stock p4 prescott heatsink/fan. Dropped my temps from about 61deg C idle to 45deg C idle. Can manage moderate overclocking with its 70mm fan, see cons. Only comes with a 70mm fan. Bummer. Its fine if youre at stock speeds and low-moderate overclocking. Nonetheless if you truly want to push the limits, and have the space, i suggest receiving a 70mm to 120mm adapter for the heatsink, and upgrading your fan. The heatsink came a small banged up from UPS on the corners, didnt not effect functionality of the sink, nevertheless transfers and disappates heat. Sort of ticked me off due to the fact its not worth RMAing and waiting, just since of cosmetic harm, just to potentially have it occur once more. As long as you have excellent air flow in your case to work with this........... .......if not you will see temps get mid to high 50s which makes me nervous. Nevertheless much better then stock but at this cost I expected much more ya know This is great if you purchased an oem northwood but i dont know how successful this will be on a Prescott.....may want something with a bit far more kick

Functions well, keeps my overclocked Prescott's temperature at 30 C... There is no fan speed manage, and it runs at 4000 rpm all the time.
