This is my second MSI board and likely won't be purchasing any other brand from now on! These boards are the easiest to install and setup. Everything worked as advertised. The CD that comes with them tends to make loading drivers and the such uncomplicated and painless in any version of Windows. Their internet site has the most recent updates and are effortless to discover and download. None that I can believe of. As with any new motherboard you install, make positive you have backed anything up, and have your install disks handy. I about pulled out the remainder of my hair prior to I got Vista to finally boot up. NOT MSI's fault, mine. One other issue. 1 reviewer stated it has bluetooth when he booted with Linux. If it does, I can't locate it. No biggie, just sayin......

Making use of this as an everything server w/o a display (web, media, FTP, storage, MagicJack, etc.). Have a quad-core Athlon II and 4GB Gskill ram. Transcodes videos to my PS3 making use of PS3 Media Server flawlessly although serving up every thing else simultaneously. It's killing me that the video chipset is going to waste, but oh properly. Will be adding a surveillance camera card given that the machine currently has 6Tb of storage via raid5 on a highpoint rocketraid card. The Athlon is overclocked to 3GHZ (up from 2.6) employing the manual switches on the mobo. Couldn't be less difficult to overclock. Has been stable the whole time it's been on, which has been considering that I got it virtually a month ago. None that I have come across. Seems like a top quality board. Even the PCI-Express had a good snappy sound and feel when I stuck in the card. For the price tag and the seemingly wonderful excellent and reliability so far, I'd say this is a wonderful acquire. I might buy an additional along with a dual-core Athlon for a HTPC

The board was bought for a small business machine that will also run a 46" LCD for entertainment purposes. The truth that it has HDMI onboard was a blessing not to mention the AMD computer software will port the audio to the HDMI output as properly so I will not have to run the further audio cables. We run a decent ammount of external hardware so needless to say the added USB ports are a blessing. ESATA is often a excellent point to have when you need to have it. AM3 and DDR3, compact, worked with no a hitch. I put the processor in, memory in, plugged it in and it came up screamin. -Great high quality board-Layout of the board I liked additional then my old Gigabyte less complicated access-Has some incredible characteristics on this factor including uncomplicated overclocking with a switch, LED lights to tell what power state the mobo is in, auto overclocking etc and so on.-This thing is loaded with characteristics it is unbelievable-Black DIM are Major just FYI, distinct then my Gigabyte -My AMD Athlon X3 435 unlocked to a AMD Phenom x4!!!-Unlocking potential with this motherboard is a breeze-One of the ideal featured BIOS about! -The power LED's are blue...I hate blue. But they are not to vibrant. When I got this I was unaware of all the functions it has, as I was creating a budget server/machine that I required for school and some projects I am running. And this thing performs let me tell you. The attributes are outstanding and are very easily accessible, BIOS easy to navigate and fantastic functions. Every thing is laid out nicely and straightforward to navigate. I would very suggest this for UNLOCKING purposes as it unlocks cores like a pro!

Quite quite nice board. Fit effectively in my case. four ram slots and holds DDR3, AM3 CPU, Cant ask for significantly more for the cost. Lots of space. Properly spaced slots. This isnt truly a con, Not positive if it was the MSi's fault or shipping, But somewhere along the line. the Drivers and utilities CD got dominated by something sharp and scratched the cd all to hell. Thankfully MSI areas their Drivers on their web page and the web site is uncomplicated to use and handle. So other then the Negative CD. There really is no flaw to this master piece. Quick shipping, But i would trade an further day for a non scratched utilities CD. To each his own although.

Strong performance, marred by some quirks.Uncomplicated to setup.Simplistic bios, that nevertheless exposes some great choices. A plus for novice builders.Energy process looks quite robust, with polymer capacitors. This is what I anticipate on additional costly boards, so it was good to see right here. Some quirks, which includes:Seems that the bios decides it doesn't want to complete the post as soon as in a though. Has happened when out of possibly 15 energy cycles.I have discovered the audio a small mediocre in linux.Bios is primitive relative to similar vintage boards. It does the job, but I felt like I was setting up a Pentium III back in 2001. I didn't like it, but the simplistic nature could be a pro to a novice builder.I'm nit picking just to put a thing here. This replaced an older Asus board, an M2A-VM, in my every day linux desktop. This technique is on 24x7. I was a tiny nervous going with MSI, as I have primarily utilized Asus more than the years, but I was happily shocked. I have not tried any of the over clocking functions, as this is employed in my every day technique, not a efficiency machine. I value stability and up time over tweaks. I have been content with it over all. My specs are:AMD Athlon II X4 6204GB OCZ DDR3 1600 ram.BFG Geforce 9600GTI use a pair of front loading hot swap trays to boot Linux or Windows, depending on if I need an additional gaming technique when buddies are more than. - Almost everything functions quickly - Almost everything is straightforward to use - No complications when adding hardware to the laptop or computer - Died just following 24 hours of light to moderate use - RMA needs shipping to send it back, unexpected extra cost (amounts to about ten-15% of the cost i paid for it) The 1 day of use that I got out of this board was excellent. I genuinely enjoyed it. On the other hand I would have liked to play with its capabilities more just before it died.About board death: When my laptop began up, it started hitting BSoD randomly. Right after the first restart I believed it was just a new software conflict, but it hit BSoD once more. Right after two crashes and instant restarts, the system powered on and nothing else. No POST beeps and nothing on the screen. I did some testing and identified that there was no way to get past this issue. Google didn't seem to say much other than hardware failure. It just seems like the board just failed. Running SpeedFan, the temperatures never went above 40c, commonly it was under 30c.

Haven't installed but, just needing some Support or information from others who have bought this mobo. I see couple of have had issues with Mem slots 1 & two, three and 4 have been slotted on sights on the net for dual. The manual doesn't detail effectively on the memory slots by two piece dual it can go either way from the scheme of the pic. I know that folks have been having blue screens with 1 & two and possibly it is their fault with the settings within the bios. None yet? Looks quite nicely created for a micro mobo but I wish the caps had a tiny sinky on them. side serials are seeking to be some trouble, but oh well I can operate them. I will review once more totally the moment I fire it up, just require a little feedback on which mem slots.

I purchased this to set up an ESXi four.1 server. Ahead of setting that up I was in a position to run the OpenSolaris LiveCD without having any complications. I also tried installing Ubuntu Server 10.ten, it worked as nicely. The onboard NIC is not supported by default in ESXi four.1 (which I was expecting). I am making use of this board 鼸GM-E51) with the AMD Phenom II X6 1090T for an ESXi 4.1 server. I was able to successfully install ESXi 4.1 on a USB thumb drive. I was getting difficulties with quite slow boot instances of the hypervisor and slow performance in VMs in common. The console event log was full of messages like this: cpu4򎦤)WARNING: CpuSched: 8825: processor apparently halted for 1836 ms This was being brought on by C1E support becoming enabled in the BIOS. Disabling it resolved the performance problems. To disable it:-> Advanced BIOS Attributes --> CPU Feature ---> C1E Help (set to Disabled) With C1E enabled Ubuntu Server 10.10 took two hours to install as a guest VM. With it disabled it took six minutes. With C1E enabled there were keyboard and mouse performance difficulties in general in guest VMs. With it disabled these difficulties disappeared. I also updated to the newest BIOS (V1.9) during my setup. This might not be required.

Excellent board for the price! The only thing I didn't like about the MB is on installation guide it states to put Speaker on JFP2, which doesn't exist on the board soon after all. Stick to the book, not the "quick installation guide" just to save yourself a little time and aggravation.

Tons of functions. So numerous alternatives to OC. Easy to unlock cores. SATA connects on the edge!!! Why?Cause why individuals want mATX since they have mATX case with smaller case for HTPC. The board fits correct into proper into the case...not a lot room for anything sticking to the side. No area for any SATA connectors that stick to the side. Even if you come across correct-angle SATA Connectors...make positive you get one particular that has correct-angle on each ends. If you get 1 with just 1 proper-angle, that won't work simply because that right-angle finish will flush downward...you want to flush upward. What a pain!!!Don't understand the cause why MSI make a decision to put all their SATA ports in this config. Just more headaches. What's worst, they don't even step up to give proper-angle SATA that we can use. No Firewire!!! I guess USB and eSATA is becoming a lot more widely accepted. If you have case that has Firewire on the front, you'd need to have to get PCI card for that. Also no S/PDIF connector anyplace. HDMI has audio out, but if you have processor/received that has no HDMI, difficult luck. Have to get external PCI Audio or get a s/pdif header adapter.

I replaced with a GB board and all the other components are working and operating wonderfully. I hear these are good boards, but my first get was a negative board. I don't consider I will obtain MSI again.Gets 2 eggs since Eggnew has excellent RMA and return alternatives. They paid the shipping... I don't know if its because I'm in an APO and had to pay a crapton for shipping, but I am quite satisfied with Eggnew.

Applied this to run my RAM @ 1600 8-8-8-24-2T timings although overclocking my processor from 2.90 to 3.48GHz.It'll support (some) PhenomII X6 processors later when I want to upgrade. After ten months although, I still have no urge to upgrade. None so far. On other builds, I had problems with the RAM behaving only at distinct FSB settings (i.e. 1600 CAS6 operating only @ 200뢈뢰). No such difficulties with this mixture of motherboard and RAM (see below).I don't use the onboard video. Audio subsystem works well and detects when I insert/remove a device (I'm running Win7 x64). Functions with LinuxInexpensivefour memory slots None so far I purchased eight of these to build a low cost linux cluster. All the motherboards inmy initial testing work flawlessly. I chose this board due to the fact it had 4 memory slots. It has a slightly older video chip than the otherwise identical 785GM-E51 which is reflected in the price. I have tested the VGA graphics, sound, and ethernet with the most current Ubuntu ƙ.10) as properly as Debian Squeeze and these all work. The overclocking switch on the motherboard is an uncomplicated way to get performance enhance with no a lot of detailed information. Without a hard drive in the machine the unit uses 72 Watts. 1080p hd.. good sound good graphics.. easy to use.. excellent board for the cost. Neweggs value beat even my direct value from msi. ๆ.99 when i purchased it. Throw in a six core processor and let it fly. No cons, board worked correct out of the box, no conflicts. For those who have troubles with their boards.. don't pressure too substantially.. no firm can avoid the odd faulty product that makes it out.. the bottom line is you got a warranty to get it replaced if you need it replaced. Not like they purposely gave you a poor program and mentioned oh well! Bought two of these boards.. planning to purchase a couple of far more for future builds. Would definitely suggest this board. Would also recommend working with corsair dominator ram with it.. performance is incredible.

Good layout. I personally like the sata headers location, as it permits me to get the 90 degree header chords for running lines. Ample, and I mean ample usb headers. Plus, if those arent adequate, you can usually piggy back one of your toys. Lack of three pinǚpin fan headers. I know it is an mATX layout, but the days of one cpu, and one program fan are genuinely over. I would have like about a cm a lot more distance in between the CPU and memory. Overall a nice board, although the 760 chipset is for the non-enthusiast. AM3 + DDR3 standard memory are good. Solid really feel and good tame colors. The OC switch on the board is kindof like a mechanical versus electrical debate. Not sure why it is there, if the BIOS can do the same factor.

Good stable board with lots of potential, positive individual history with MSI merchandise, AMD is slowly winning me more than with their chipsets, lots of overclocking possibilities None identified I am a die-tough AMD CPU/nVidia Chipset enthusiast who purchased this for client develop. Nonetheless, my media server has an AMD 790 chipset and it has been a winner as far as stability goes with a 4th core unlocked and overclocked, so I have been additional open to AMD chipsets lately and this one did not let me down. I matched this board with an X2 Regor 245 and 4GB Corsair XMS3 DDR3 1600 and it has been a very good performer. I didn't do any overclocking, other than getting to set the DDR3 timings to get the 1600 speeds. Overall, a excellent MSI board.
