Microsoft 700 V2 Wireless Optical Desktop Combo
Cons:Distance, Quality, Wireless

Pros:Cheap, Inexpensive
Comment:
I was very disappointed with this product. I had read online that it's range was up to 10 feet but unfortunately when I tried it out it could only go about 3 feet away before the wireless started to cut out and my mouse and keyboard strokes would skip. I tried brand new batteries besides the ones that came with it thinking that might be the problem but it was not. It's still in the box and will probably never get used. I'm glad it was a cheap purchase.

Microsoft 700 V2 Wireless Optical Desktop Combo
Cons:Mouse button feel is very bad; keyboard and mouse connection flakes out.

Pros:Black, looks nice; keyboard has nice tactile feel
Comment:
Bought this on sale for an HTPC setup. After lots of fiddling, I found a position for the receiver about 2m away from where I sit where I could at least get some connectivity, and I thought, ok, I can live with this considering I paid $30 for the two...NOT.The flaky connection to the keyboard was livable, though I had several instances where some keys would work and others not at all while gaming. Generally, moving the keyboard to get direct line-of-sight (ie, leaning way forward on the couch) dealt with this. However, what really broke the camel's back was the extremely slow response of the mouse buttons. To do a single-click, I'd have to press and then hold the button, whereas on every other mouse I've used, I'd just have to click. This makes doing anything at all in Windows very painful. Distance doesn't help, either -- ie, it's not a case of missing mouse clicks. What has really driven me spare is that the cheapo wireless keyboard/mouse which comes with the Acer Revo works many times better than this. The Acer mouse was able to pick up movement over surfaces this mouse does not, and I never had a range issue in my living room. This is by far the worst waste of money I ever tried to convince myself to keep using.

Microsoft 700 V2 Wireless Optical Desktop Combo
Cons:Short wireless range -- 3 feet max.

Pros:Decent keyboard and mouse setup
Comment:
Bought this to use for a HTPC setup, but had to return because the wireless range was 3 feet at best. It's a shame, since the keyboard and mouse actually felt quite nice, and the price was good. Would probably be fine for actual desktop use, but give it a miss if you're looking for any kind of range.

Microsoft 700 V2 Wireless Optical Desktop Combo
Cons:Very Poor RangeHave to click mouse to get it to wake up

Pros:Quality Feel And LookEasy Setup
Comment:
I bought this as a replacement for a Logitech wireless on my HTPC - the Logitech works great but looks really cheap. I was looking forward to using this much better built Microsoft unit but the range is horrible. From 3 feet away the keyboard was unusable - no response, then double and triple keystrikes. After half an hour of frustration I put my homely but reliable Logitech back on the machine. My bro-in-law was happy to receive this as a gift to replace his beat-up wired keyboard. Oh, and the mouse goes to sleep - you have to click a button to wake it up which can make a mess depending where on the screen it went to sleep.

Microsoft 700 V2 Wireless Optical Desktop Combo
Cons:Wireless range is little short for HTTP use.

Pros:Cheap, Good design and finish. Fast responds.
Comment:
I believe this combo has a great value for the money, but if you are planing to use it as HTTP input device, find something else. If you use an USB extension cable then it can be extened a lttle. If you place the receiver, keyboard and mouse in open area, the maximum distince between them is about 1.5 ~ 2 meters.

Microsoft 700 V2 Wireless Optical Desktop Combo
Cons:Only work with USB port (won't work with PS/2 port even with converter installed), made with cheap plastic

Pros:Low price ($29.99)on sale, Microsoft made (no driver problems with Windows), wireless
Comment:
My last MS wireless K/B just died after 3 years, got this as a replacement (not from NCIX). Would be a reasonable low price K/B and mouse combo if it comes with a USB to ps/2 splitter to connect to my ps/2 ports. But it does not work with ps/2 ports at all (I even tried plugging in the converter). My computer is set up as a dual boot system, the driver only loaded after Windows kick in. This made selecting the other OS impossible. Also made getting into BIOS setup after booting impossible. If you have a simple setup with only single Windows, this will work. For me, I refunded it after 2 days and used a traditional wired K/B instead.

Microsoft 700 V2 Wireless Optical Desktop Combo
Cons:everything else

Pros:cheap. comes with batteries. Made by Microsft
Comment:
For your a-typical desktop setup where your tower is within three to four feet of the space where your keyboard is wireless is useless and wired serves just as well the range between reciever and keyboard is painful. it only works in the above mentioned scenerio. I literally almost have the reciever and keyboard touching. I bought it for my bigscreen setup so I could sit on the couch at the typical distance you'd view a 32 inch tv. even with usb extention cables you had to sit on one side of the couch and lean forward to get reliable function. I now use on my laptop. Incase you wondering why I didn't rma it. it would cost $22 to ship it for a $29 keyboard and still have no guarantee that it would any better. Bottom line its junk.
