Microsoft Multimedia Keyboard & Optical Mouse PS/2 OEM
Cons:Keyboard is a little on the large side. You must hid "F Lock" key to use the F1-F12 keys.Wrist support is just cheap clip on plastic that is a little wobbly.Over time this wrist support starts to squeak when it wobbles (for me anyways). Some useful keys are missing (such as My Videos and My Computer)Scroll on the mouse has gotten stiff and unbalanced over time (for me)I often hit the "stop" or "mute" key when trying to hit the "play/pause".Bigger keys such as the space bar are a tad loose. The delete, home, end, etc. keys have been redesigned.Mouse clicking can be a little louder then normal. There have been 3 times where the mouse has 'stalled' on me and stopped responding. All i had to do to get it to work again was lift it off of the mouse pad and put it down again.

Pros:Well built, backed by the Microsoft name.Reasonably quiet typing.New drivers from Microsoft perform very well (much better then the ones that came included for me).Quick Access keys can save a lot of time and just be fun to use.Mouse uses a high quality optical Sensor.
Comment:
This set-up is a dream come true at first. You have a rather nice keyboard and optical mouse backed by a Microsoft name for an extremely good price. Once you get the new drivers they perform even better, however time takes a toll on these guys.At the time of writing this I have had these two items for 7 months and a few days and they are starting to show their age. Keep in mind that I use them everyday for a large variety of things such as online gaming, office work, and internet usage, so they get allot of use. However the most noticeable change is with the mouse. The scroll in the middle of the mouse (which also acts as a third button) is becoming stiff and unbalanced in it's scrolling. As well the Wrist support is starting to squeak when I use it.However other then that they have held up rather well considering the amount of usage they get. There are some design issues that get to me at times such as the design of the media control which has often lead me to stopping my video when I want to unpause it, the lack of a "my videos" and "my computer" buttons, or the fact that in order to use any of the F-function keys I must first press the "F Lock" key. But bang for buck, this product is a wonderful place to start out a new computer and get rid of those generic parts from 1994.

For the average user this keyboard mouse combination is really the way to go. There isn't any better keyboard and mouse for the price. The keyboard is fairly nice and the mouse is good enough for any office oriented tasks and for most peoples gaming requirements.

Cons:none as it is a keyboard...

Pros:loads of function keys, Optical mouse incl, cheap
Comment:
I am so impressed (and so was the wife) that we bought another one for our other PC. The function keys are fine the way they are with the function button and there is a way to set it as on in the software. I have two and would be my first choice for another keyboard when the time arrises.

Microsoft Multimedia Keyboard & Optical Mouse PS/2 OEM
Cons:-Two tone color-Large KB-F Lock

Pros:-Good price-Optical mouse (USB or PS/2)-Hand rest-Soft quiet keys
Comment:
This is a pretty good combo that is inexpensive. The keys are quiet and you get a decent optical mouse. There are also the multimedia keys for added functionality. But if space is limited on the desktop then this KB might be too big. Even the mouse is a little bulky.

Microsoft Multimedia Keyboard & Optical Mouse PS/2 OEM
Cons:None that I can think of.

Pros:- Well designed- Simple keyboard with many usefull features- Optical mouse- Hand rest- Great price
Comment:
For the price, this keyboard/mouse set is great! If you use the keyboard software you can do almost anything you want with hitting just one button! There is also a hand/wrist rest that can be attached to the bottom of the keyboard if you like it, which I use all the time and is not shown in the picture. The mouse is now considered "plain jane" compared to many elaborate mice available, however it is a great optical mouse none the less. It's small, 3-button (left, right, and scroll button) design allows for fast internet browsing as well as typical computer use. This is a terrific setup for any home user, be it beginners or even the computer savy individuals.I would definitly purchase this Microsoft keyboard/optical mouse combo again!I would highly recommend this keyboard

Microsoft Multimedia Keyboard & Optical Mouse PS/2 OEM
Cons:-not wireless

Pros:-low price-comes with optical mouse-made by Microsoft-multimedia buttons
Comment:
This keyboard is made by Microsoft, so it should be compatible with Windows. There are multimedia keys which will make it easier to surf the net. Its low price makes up for the fact that it is not wireless. They keyboard comes with an optical mouse which won't get its mouse ball wrecked. The keyboard however only goes well with a white computer, and not any of the different colored ones, as it only comes in white

Cons:Has wires. Letters aren't in order.

Pros:Lots of buttons
Comment:
If you are building a new computer, chances are you will need a way to input information. A keyboard is a good choice. So is a mouse if you are using one of them new fangled GUIs that they got now. After you plug this baby in, you can press the buttons and that will put words on the screen. Each button is convieniently labled with letters and numbers so you don't even have to remember which one is which - it tells you! I'm not sure why the letters are all scrambled up... it sometimes takes me a while to find the right key. Why not put them in alphabetical order or something? That would be so much easier.

Comment:
I've owned and built systems with name brand keyboards (mostly Microsoft and Logitech) before and recently built a new system using this keyboard/mouse. Overall I think it's GREAT, but I think Microsoft is WAY off the mark producing a keyboard that automatically disables the F1 through F12 keys at OS startup, remapping them to function keys that are either rarely used by novices (who tend to grab the mouse and click the pretty pictures) OR are well-known by people who are more familiar with keyboarding (and wish to avoid RSI's therefore do NOT reach for the mouse every five seconds). Here's the lineup of 'special' keys and the keystrokes they replace, hence why I feel they're useless...F1 - Help (not really a re-map)F2 - Undo (CTRL-Z)F3 - Redo (CTRL-Y)F4 - New (CTRL-N)F5 - Open (CTRL-O)F6 - Close (ALT-F4)F7 - Reply (CTRL-R)F8 - Forward (CTRL-F)F9 - Send (CTRL-Enter)F10 - Spell (-F7)F11 - Save (CTRL-S)F12 - Print (CTRL-P)What really baffles me about this is that Microsoft has marketed a keyboard that not only makes the user re-learn the key locations of these important functions in a layout that is at best proprietary, they are also the company that sells the Windows operating system that has all these keyboard shortcuts written into it!Another gripe - the 'Delete' key is a double-height key, and is very easy to hit by accident when I'm typing and trying to press the 'End' or 'Home' keys. There is no 'Insert' key in this keypad, either - it is remapped onto the 'PrtScn' button.I do like some of the other special keys that MS has included on this keyboard, particularly the 'Calculator', 'Messenger', 'Mute', and volume control keys. 'Mail', 'Web / Home' and 'Media' are also handy, but I think most users probably click on desktop or quick launch icons to launch these applications. The shortcut keys that open 'My Documents', 'My Pictures', and 'My Music' could also be handy for some users. The 'Log off' and 'Sleep' keys would rarely be used in my opinion.Bottom line - this is a very solid, decent straight keyboard with some useful shortcut keys, but I can't for the life of me understand why Microsoft messed up all the normal 'F' keys...

Microsoft Multimedia Keyboard & Optical Mouse PS/2 OEM
Cons:The stupid fuction keys!!!

Pros:Always on special for under $30
Comment:
The Function Keys are so annoying. And you can't set your computer to start with the function keys off. So it is annoying. Also the F keys are on groups of 3 rather than 4 which is also annoying. But I'd still recommend since at this price it is basically buying the keyboard and getting a free optical mouse.
