Microsoft Windows Vista Ultimate 32-Bit DVD OEM
Cons:Resource hogUAC
Pros:Ease of installationEye candy Comment:
Vista was the easiest OS install I have ever done, ahead of every other version of windows as well as a few Linux distributions I've tried. I was very pleased to install to my SATA drive without loading drivers form a floppy disk.Vista is also, for lack of a better term "pretty". It just looks nice.Everything runs slower on Vista than XP but it's the same argument that was made against XP versus 2000.UAC is the most annoying "feature" Iv'e ever seen. Fortunately it can be disabled. |

Microsoft Windows Vista Ultimate 32-Bit DVD OEM
Cons:Excessive CostMany Programs still don't work
Pros:A Wealth of FeaturesGreat new Interface Comment:
This isn't really a review of Vista, more of the Ultimate edition. I strongly recommend not purchasing Ultimate, but rather Home Premium. 90% of consumers, even the hardcore, will only ever use the features in Home Premium.Ultimate only has a few extra features, and it's marketed at a significantly higher price. Not worth it. |

Microsoft Windows Vista Ultimate 32-Bit DVD OEM
Cons:Driver/Software compatability as of right now is still up in the air for some users,
Pros:Easy to use, Excellent graphics effects with areo glass, has all of the average user tools and software built right in to the o/s. Comment:
In my opinion this is a great new operating system. Out of the box I had only one issue with a logitech webcam driver but overall eveything worked great. Can't wait to see a few more ultimate extras! |

Microsoft Windows Vista Ultimate 32-Bit DVD OEM
Cons:Price.
Pros:Very stable. Cool looks. Nice new features. Comment:
I'm running ultimate on an older machine (p4 2Ghz w/768MB RAM and a Radeon 9550) and it works great. No performance issues at all. It's been very stable. The new Aero graphics effects are very pretty, even if not all that useful. I haven't had much problem with my existing software programs, everything just seems to work. It takes a little getting used to some things that got moved around, but after a while it feels natural again. |

The security features of Vista can be a pain to work with. There are a lot of things about Vista that I like, but software compatibility issues have caused me to hold off installing Vista on my main computer. I do, however, have Vista installed on the family computer and everyone loves it. This review was modfied by poster @ 03-22-07 04:46 PM
