Noctua NF-B9-1600 Case Fan
Comment:
Installed this as an exhaust fan in an eMachines ET1161-03. Extremely quiet, and it moves a decent amount of air. It could just be the way I was putting in it, but I wasn't capable to use the silicone pins. I tried to pull them by means of the fan, and ripped two out of the 4. Just utilised the fan screws, and had no difficulty with those. Absolutely not worth taking away an egg in the rating considering that the fan itself is so outstanding. It could be a tiny expensive, but nicely worth it in my book.

Quiet, powerful, high good quality build - packaging - documentation and help. Price tag is high and may possibly not be worthwhile, unless you're building a really high quality technique and value lack of noise and high high quality elements. You get what you spend for here, which not often the situation when you spend leading dollar. Can't lose obtain.

really fantastic replacement for my Dell old Dimension 4600 I just wish Dell didn't use proprietary connectors. (means I had to reduce the wires to splice this fan to motherboard in an try to prevent acquiring error message from bios. (didn't appear to aid).Anyway, its a excellent fan that runs super quiet.

can be set to run silently or near silently depending on the amount of air flow desired. even when set to run silently, the air flow is adequate to hold factors good and awesome. the best fan for HTPC or silent builds. none. i have been exremely impressed with just about every noctua product i've tried - and these fanse are no exception. they are the ideal 80mm fans i've tried (i replaced other 'silent' fans with them).

Noctua NF-B9-1600 Case Fan
Comment:
It’s a straight forward and quiet operating fan even if you don’t use any of the integrated adapters. To make the installation infallible, the common blade rotation and airflow directional arrows are embossed into the chassis of the fan. Some thing I wish Each and every fan had. The fan has a extended energy cord and is setup with the typical 3-pin plug. It comes with other three-pin adapters which manage the speed (and noise) high/mid/low for additional customization. It even come with four attachment screws. None Extremely fantastic fan. Reliability is something that only time will inform. I installed this fan as a replacement to a stock fan in an Infrant (Netgear now) NV+ Ready Nas. 92mm fans are becoming additional preferred so compaines are starting to supply a lot more models with different features. The adapters which modify the speed (and noise) of this fan are a great touch. In my installation, i chose not to use any adapter but the fan is nevertheless very adequate it's not a bother. For the initially time because owning the NAS i can hear the challenging drives inside the unit more than the fan itself.

Noctua NF-B9-1600 Case Fan
Cons:ugly... but I don't care since I decided not to light up my interior

Pros:So silent that I wasn't sure if it was on....Took a combine of 13 degrees off my cpu/gpu
Comment:
A good fan highly recommend. Just ugly if your going to put in a case with a side window. Seriously they really need to paint their fans or something. In six words: A good fan with ugly colour!

Bought one particular of the 80mm fans to replace the hair dryer sounding front intake fan. I was so impressed with how properly these fans cool and how quiet they are that I bought a 92mm for the rear exhaust and a 92mm for the side. Now the only I point I hear is my video card. Extremely, extremely satisfied with all of these fans. None Attempt them, the function great.

excellent fan and all... ...but the package didn't come with any extra documentation, so i didn't know which connectors were which as far as either the Blue or Black ones provided. had to appear on a overview web site to find out. Blue = U.L.N.A (lowest RPM, Quietest ʈdbA) Black = L.N.A (mid-range RPMs, 13dbA)

SmoothVery quietNo IssueRuns NicelyEasy to installQuickly Delivery! No manual guide, so quiet that this does not push out significantly air out at all. I can barely tell that it's pushing out air when i had a paper near it. Only a small, I guess that's the price you spend for wanting it quiet, no? Acquire this only if you rather settle with quietness than have it push out air for you! which is pointless anyway.

Incredibly quiet. I bought a couple of these to replace a couple of fans in the back of the Supermicro CSE-M35T-1B drive enclosures. Considerably quieter. So quiet in reality that the loudest component of that technique is the head movement of the drives. None so far.

so quiet you cant tell its operating unless you put your hand in front of it. Came with about 5000 distinct connectors ( I in no way did read the destructions to see what those were for) not the greatest cfm and the color scheme is hideous (seriously cream and brown? ugh!) I purchased this to replace a 92mm fan in my supermicro 5 drive in 3 bay hot swap enclosure. Soon after testing with 1 challenging drive and 15 hrs of transferring my music collection more than the network the drive was a little warmer than with the rather loud fan that had come with the enclosure. I ended up putting the old fan back in to err on the side of caution.

Noctua NF-B9-1600 Case Fan
Cons:Those rubber installation standoffs are nearly impossible to install in tight spaces.

Pros:Whisper quiet at slowest speed (has an adapter)
Comment:
I boxed myself into a corner by installing the fans near the end (so I wouldn't bash them doing something else). I paid, I paid. I had no room in the end to pull-through the rubber installation grommet/standoff thingies. Murder on the fingers, couldn't get needle-nose pliers in the space, etc.BUT, in the end, on the slowest speed/voltage setting, they are nearly silent. I used a pair of 80mm blowing out, a pair of 92mm blowing in and a giant Noctua C14 cpu fan. Super cool on my i5 2500K / Asus P8P67 motherboard, and super quiet, nearly silent. Comment:
Quiet is appropriate! nice air flow. optional speed and db connectors. rubber-like case attachment pins (supplied) could have had superior directions to install/use them. You have to pull the ends through and hear/feel the setting/locking. we utilized needle-nose pliers (carefully), glad I didn't break/pull apart the pins! anybody can claim they make the greatest fan (or anything) but with a 6 year warranty I think that is proof they stand behind this item! I could have purchased a less pricey fan but with such superior reviews and that warranty, how could I resist?!

Noctua NF-B9-1600 Case Fan
Comment:
QUIET! This fan is whisper silent and seems to move a substantial amount of air. This replaced the noisy fan in my old 4-bay Iomega® Desktop Hard Drive XL Series 1TB, and now I can barely hear it. A bit pricey for a single fan, but nicely worth it. Installation was a cinch. The included cord was longer than what I required, approximately 9" or so, but I guess that'd be a superior length if I had been using it in a tower. The color is not really appealing, but as extended as it's out of sight it I don't care. Also, I was unable to use the four included vibration compensators due to my setup, which was a good thing simply because they're not the most attractive either (brown).

Quiet! Seriously, thats all you need to have to know. Also, I liked the rubber mounts, neat design. Double to triple the cost of cheap fans? It doesnt blow a ton of air, but plenty to maintain my tough drives cool.

Quiet. Employing Black L.N.A connector, these fans are now the quietest ones in my laptop or computer.I had three fans salvaged from various computers that had been cooling my difficult drives. Because I was brief on motherboard hookups, they were running full-power directly from the energy supply. My laptop or computer sounded like a jet engine.I can still hear the air, but it's barely audible over my other fans at this point. Price. I never believed I would devote ๖+ on 3 fans. The rubber alternatives to working with screws function fine, but are just weak enough that you want to be cautious with them. I broke 1ቨ although installing my fans, although not in a way that rendered it unusable. (The tip ripped off though attempting to pull it all the way via)A note somewhere on the packaging stating that the black connector is for L.N.A. and the blue connector for U.L.N.A. would have been beneficial, as others have noted. My hard drives are undoubtedly operating slightly warmer than before, though I could almost certainly largely reverse that by permitting these to run at full speed.Warmer is not saying much though -- they are not hot to touch as they had been with no fans, but they are slightly warmer than room temperature.

The prior case fan in my machine had a noise that was driving me insane. It wasn't loud but it was annoying. I was willing to do ANYTHING to stop the noise. Bought this fan following reading all of the good reviews. Couldn't really get those brown screws to fit into my technique but the fan came with standard metal screws which worked excellent. It may possibly not push adequate air for my system but that's not the fan's fault. I wish Noctua could make a fan that could magically push 100 CFM of air with no noise... The fan may well be ฤ but it's completely worth it.
