Quick. Uncomplicated to set up. Does not come with SATA cable or energy cable. Luckily I anticipated this and ordered the cables. The SSD was a lot smaller than I was considering it would be. It produced it a small tough to set up in my case, but not a big deal. I wish I would have bought a bigger capacity SSD. Soon after OS set up it doesn't leave significantly for something else.

Fully silent.More quickly random access speeds than any spinning HDD I've observed, such as the Velociraptor.Produced my Atom Computer boot Windows XP in ㅆ seconds.Runs cool. I set my machine up to dual boot Windows XP and Ubuntu. The Computer would freeze randomly performing disk associated tasks, absolutely nothing fancy, issues like emptying the recycle bin, playing music, or starting a game. It was poor adequate to make the Pc unusable.I flashed the drive with the new Ƒ.51) firmware, which didn't repair my difficulty.I registered on the OCZ forums and filled out a support ticket, and was told that the dual booting was causing the dilemma.I've under no circumstances heard of a difficult disk that couldn't dual boot, and I'm slightly upset that I couldn't use this drive in the machine I purchased it for. I traded the drive to a friend of mine that didn't need a dual boot, and he hasn't had any issues in a week. CrystalDiskMark final results: (MB/s)Sequential: 131.4 read, 54.79 write512k: 115. read, 52.31 write4k: 25.73 read, four.878 write4K QD32: 32.23 read, four.764 writeThese random speeds are way more quickly than the disk this was going to replace. If you're moving up from a normal, spinning HDD, you'll surely discover a distinction. If you're like me and will need to boot two OSs off the very same disk, apparently you'll need to have anything else.

Wonderful SSD. Scored 6.eight out of 7.9 on the Windows 7 Experience Index. A little pricy. I got it as a deal for about ๠. If you're organizing on placing it in a desktop machine make sure to pick up a three.five" to 2.5" drive converter. Also I was arranging on dual booting Win7 and Ubuntu ten.10 so I possibly really should have sprung for the 64GB one as an alternative but it nevertheless functions fantastic.

Really rapidly, capable of executing what its stated. Not sufficient space, I really wasn't thinking about how significantly space I really required. I even have a separate 1tb, but more than time windows just eats away the space. 14 gigs for windows 7, immediately after installing all my programs to the other HDD I only have ten gigs left? I actually encouraged generating the one particular step up to a 60gig, trust me its worth it.

Wonderful Price!Boots and up and on the online in around 30 (win 7 32 bit)Installed this in laptop which utilizes SATA 1. SSD can not take advantage of SATA 2 speeds. There are faster drives out there for a บ - ฤ a lot more. This is still a good deal on this drive. Win 7 32 bit install 9.4 GB. Right after all updates and MSE and so on 11 GB employed on drive. Loads of room!

Extremely fast compared to classic HDD. Noticeable increases in boot and (more importantly) application launching.Affordable (Paid โ following rebate).Barefoot controllers have been about a although and are quite reputable. A little small, although this holds all my simple applications, Windows 7 ࿀-bit), Photoshop/Illustrator, and Office with 10 gigs to spare. Subsequent time I'll undoubtedly commit a tiny added for the 64 gig.Not as quick as the new Sandforce controllers or greater end drives.

None so far Just received one particular of these units and it's DoA, not showing up in the BIOS of any of the 4 computers I've tried. Hopefully the replacement will really perform. Newegg wanted to charge me 10$ to ship the DoA unit back until I named and asked for a cost-free shipping label... Manufacturer Response:Hello, we are really sorry for the challenge. Your replacement will resolve this issue. If we can be of any help, please check out our support forums at the link beneath.Thank youExternal Link(s): OCZ Support Forums|

Very rapid read times that you would anticipate from a SSD. Tends to make for a great boot drive replacement IF you have second bigger HDD in your program. Folder re-direction to the bigger drive is essential for storage space. 32GB of space. Slightly slower write speeds than you can get from other SSDs on the market place, but for the value you actually cant complain. I got this drive for a quick and dirty replacement for a failling 80GB HDD boot drive. I never expected it to develop into the ideal drive I have in my property, this SSD beats my Velociraptor 150 in all benchmarks I ran.Worth every penny.

Low-cost and speedy At this price point there are none. Possibly capacity could be an issue. After a fresh install of Windows 7 there's 15gb free of charge. There are some tweaks you can do to totally free up a handful of gigabytes here and there. Search Windows 7 SSD tweaks. I put this in a Toshiba L455-S5000 laptop with Windows 7 on it. HD Tach shows 130mb/sec typical read. Boot times are now between 25-30 seconds. Shut down instances around ten seconds. Very snappy. I am extremely pleased with the distinction. Search the net for Windows 7 SSD tweaks. They enable alot with the efficiency as well. It's true that the Vertex 30gb model would have been a much better deal but in all honesty your average individual could under no circumstances inform the difference. Internet Explorer snaps open almost immediately, applications load in mere moments. It's a pleasure to have 1 of these instead of the old style drives.

power specsocz brandlight Why would anyone possibly want to acquire this entry level SSD at the higher cost than OCZ Vertex which is greater performing drive!?!? no critiques are out yet on this drive, but the power specs look pretty very good (possibly very good drive for netbooks, considering that the power needs are very low).

This is an eggcellent drive for the money. It is sleek and durable and is substantially quicker then my WD Raptor. I purchased it just for boot and elevated my boot time from 1 minute 7 seconds to 27 seconds. Impressive for the dollars. Install was flawless, although honestly who can mess up a HD install? lol Haven't identified a negative point about it but. It does specifically what I wanted it to do. Quicker boot time. I suggest getting a SSD enclosure. It will make installation and removal of the drive/drives a lot less complicated for the inexperienced.

Extremely fast, loads OS in much less than 1ǘ time compared to HDD. 32 gigs fills up faster than you feel, in particular when windows only gets a little below 30 gigs. Its adequate for the windows install, a couple of programs, and thats about it. I've also never been in a position to get a lot more than 30MB/s sequential read/write, even even though it claims 70렐MB/s. I feel its only advantage is in NONsequential read/write Make positive you have one more HDD for most of the programs and any data, as this won't deal with them significantly. Also suggest obtaining plenty of RAM and then sticking your windows page file on the other disk, otherwise it can quickly eat up all additional space on your SSD.

Value, quicker than most two.5" HDD, Value... Capacity clearly, not as quickly as some of the far more costly ones see Pros ^^ I wasn't sure what to expect with this small guy but I took the opportunity and am glad I did. It outperforms the 7200 drive that was in my Zotac N105 netbook. Appears to use less power too. I am operating Ubuntu ten.10 it boots in less than 20 seconds to a saved session which contains loading an NFS share. Shutdown and restart is impressively rapid. Be confident you have the discard selection in your /etc/fstab so that Ubuntu automatically utilizes Trim. The SSD I got had the most recent 1.6 firmware on it. Not gonna lie I'm impressed. Any additional drive for a netbook and you are running into other bottlenecks. I have a full desktop running compiz and anything, also have the Broadcom HD decoder for complete 1080p hd video. Anywhere there is world wide web and an HDTV I can have my whole library there in HD.

Affordable.Brilliantly rapid compared to any mechanical HDD, in particular as a boot drive.TRIM assistance. Undoubtedly the low finish of the SSD performance scale, but contemplating the Atom-based method it is going in, something a lot more than this would just be overkill. I currently have an Agility 64GB SSD that runs my principal HTPC/Gaming Rig and have been thrilled with the outcomes.I bought this Onyx drive to put in to my other small Nettop Computer, A 1.9 Ghz Atom eeeBox that shipped with a 5400 rpm 160GB HDD. Whilst ample in size, the stock drive proved painfully slow, evening operating the stripped-down Ubuntu Netbook edition. Boot occasions had been about 60-75 seconds and program loads took 5-10 seconds, even a thing basic like loading Nautilus to browse the file method. After the installation of the little Onyx drive (and some extra RAM) boot time is about 5 seconds, with the Ubuntu logo showing only momentarily just before the login screen, and program loads are more or much less instantaneous. This is SSD has produced a previously slowish machine feel like a a lot additional strong machine than it seriously is.

It was pretty affordable somewhat speaking for a 30GB SSD. Though I think offerings from Kingston are just as competitive and may possibly not have the firmware matters that the Onyx drives appear to be having. Now that its operating it seems to be a decent tiny drive. A tiny slow for an SSD, but significantly more quickly than the laptop drive it replaced. Wouldn't function at all out of the box. I couldn't install Windows 7 on it. Fortunately the firmware update issued by OCZ shortly thereafter fixed it and it's working alright now. Like all of the other reviewers here, the drive wouldn't operate out of the box. I thought it was DOA. On the other hand, I went to the OCZ user forums and posted my problem. I got a response within a day that they were operating on the problem and would have a firmware update released shortly that would resolve my dilemma.Be certain to get the firmware update for this drive ahead of you use it!

Nice low-price SSD. I utilized this for a HTPC create and I want the HTPC starts up quick. So I only care about the read speed and IOPS. I test it with HDtune and the IOPS value returns a total of 15,000+!(as advertised) So I am incredibly pleased! Windows 7 boots up in 20 seconds. (only with required software e.g media player and driver installed) Power consumption is extremely high. (compare to Intel's)

I wanted to try out a solid state drive immediately after my netbook tough drive failed right after 9 months. I'm a bit rough with my hardware. I am pleased to say this drive extended the battery life of my netbook, aswell as MASSIVELY enhancing performance.I only have 1gb of ram, so I frequently use virtual memory, and the virtual memory speed on this drive is obsurdly quickly. Even though just before with windows 7 enterprise I'd start off stuttering immediately after four chrome tabs open, I don't have a issue with that. I previously had to use readyboost on a camera card to even make the program usable.Note, if you were going to make 1 upgrade to a netbook, I'd say memory just before SSD, but SSD only isn't a poor option.I'm satisfied. Only 32gb, but for the price thats not bad.

Cost (with the rebate, if I ever get it, this beauty costs much less than Ū per gigabyte Speed, boot times went from 58 seconds to 15.Battery life improvement as nicely as quieter operation. NONE. Preforms exactly as stated and the price tag of SSD's is a properly identified reality. Yes, it is a lower end SSD, but the value and listed read/write speed ought to have given that away. I popped this child into my dell latitude d630, i also picked up a tough drive caddy for the drive getting replaced and i use it as a media drive to save on the SSD's writes and a linux boot. When not accessing the secondary drive, i have noticed an raise in battery life of about 30 to 40 minutes.
