Incredibly very quick. Coming from two Intel X25-E SSD's, this is night and day faster. You can read the benchmarks, they're all accurate. I'm obtaining about 654mbit read and 590write on CrystalDiskMark3. File copies to/from itself are blisteringly rapidly, I moved 6.9gb in 14,000+ files in just a couple of seconds.Boots easy into win7 pro 64-bit on Gigabyte P55A-UD3 motherboard. Had to download driver from gigabyte, copy to USB thumb-drive, and pick "have driver" in the course of install. Just make certain "scsi" or the device is chosen as boot drive in BIOS and there are no issues. I recommend installing OS with all other drives disconnected till OS is fully installed. Pricey. Worth it, but it's high-priced at Ū.73/gb. Rates must ease down more than time. Significantly, a lot faster than (name something) through SATA interface. Silent. Leaves all 8 of my SATA ports for substantial 2-3tb storage drives.

Quick. Quite Fast. Really Quick. Drivers are not blessed by microsoft, hassle to install, incredibly handful of boards supported, none of the top finish boards are on the supported list. Does not perform with msi major bang, like any of the workaround listed, spent days on the telephone with msi and ocz support, downloaded every msi bios update and attempted one particular by one, no results. Lastly gave up on MSI (Big Bang X Power) and ASUS (Rampage III Extreme) boards and purchased Gigabyte X58A-UD3R - worked like a charm. Read the list just before purchasing, and don't trust the "Workaround Accessible" Section.

As the title says, this drive is amazingly rapid. Right after post, I can boot 7 Pro x64 to the desktop in about 12 seconds.1 of the coolest factors for me is the capability to right away launch programs as soon as the desktop is loaded. Chrome with 2 windows and over 40 tabs loads in about 6 seconds. Games launch more rapidly, file transfers are amazingly speedy. In brief, this is so a lot faster than my earlier setup ƕx 500GB 7200RPM HDDs in RAID 5) it's not even funny. Went from a 5.9 to a 7.9 in Windows knowledge index and boosted graphics by .two Speed aside, setup was quite easy. Downloaded the drivers beforehand and loaded them on my thumbdrive and a clean install of 7 was straightforward and very speedy. Pricey, but you get what you spend for. Twice, when I booted my pc, I received the "Hard drive not found, press CTRL+ALT+DEL to restart" error. Worked fine as soon as I rebooted, but it caused me a brief moment of panic the initially time. I've had the drive due to the fact 11ቪቦ and it only happened twice, so I wouldn't be concerned about it, but it's one thing to keep in thoughts. Absolutely worth the price if you can afford it. I've read hundreds of SSD critiques on right here that say switching to an SSD is the most noticeable upgrade you can make and immediately after experiencing it myself I can confirm. Switching from a Core duo to a Core i7 was nowhere near as major an upgrade.

Really Extremely rapid, nothing compares. 4 way RAID due to the fact it's fast 3 year restricted warantee, 4 way RAID simply because of the failure rate that implies. Consider of 4 dice: when you roll one, the odds of a 6 coming up are 1 in 6. But if you roll 4 dice, it is more than 75% that a single will be a 6. Very same goes for disk failure. Yes, the 4 way RAID is wonderful for speed, but without RAID 10, you have about 20x additional failure rate. Yes, perhaps any 1 channel has a low likelyhood for failure, but when any of the 4 channels mean a TOTAL failure, the probability of failture increases geometrically. SSD has a restricted erase cycle, that is to say it wears out a little everytime you erase data. At some point, the card can't replace negative sectors any longer with spare sectors, and the drive fails. Thus the brief three year warantee though most memory is waranteed for lifetime.BACK IT UP Frequently!

Ultra-quick. Huge space and did I mention ultra-freaking fast? Simple once setup and playing nice. Came from old school 74gb Raptors in RAID0, and the Revo X2 is INSANE. Does demand some added information of system components. Not a big con, but want to spot it here so folks see it. Expense: You pay for the very best, no question about it. Guarantee you check you Mobo choice on their web page and follow the OCZ SSD A,B,C's to the T! Excellent efficiency ྯ second boot time for Win7 including POST). No wires. Hard to set up at first (if utilizing as a boot drive for OS). Price is high but reasonable for this model and lower. Drivers had been not included on a CD, they are necessary for a clean OS install. Took me nearly 5 hours of researching (OCZ forums), disabling, reenabling, plugging in, and unplugging devices. Portion of the time was a bum DVD rom drive. Make certain your mobo is supported (use the OCZ forums) and BIOS is existing prior to attempting to install. Also make confident to get the current drivers on a disk or usb key for new OS installs.

Quicker than a speed bullet!!! :) No other brand can compare to OCZ SSD PERIOD! Costly!!! I think PCIE SSD can\'t go into Standby or Sleep mode. I've run by means of several diagnostic tests but can\'t find any challenge to why it provides a BSOD when I put my PC to sleep. There is no power icon showing up on my taskbar and it was grey out when proper click on the taskbar clock and click on properties. My conclusion was that PCIE SSD doesn't assistance sleep mode. Appropriate me if I'm wrong on this concern!People! Cease giving this wonderful product a poor rating when you don't know how to install it suitable! I construct my very first PC by myself and almost everything works flawlessly. I see a lot of men and women are having difficulties installing this SSD. What's up with that? I'm a rookie and I have no difficulty installing it. Just unhook all other HDDs and SSDs you have and run windows setup, get drivers from OCZ wesite, then install Revo drivers from a thumb drive, format or don't need to, and click next to install windows. When it works, the performance is remarkable. I wish I could see what the Windows experience index would be if it didn't top out at 7.9. I saw other reviews where the device failed by losing one of the four drives. Thought it wouldn't occur to me. I was wrong. Frustrating that a solid state device would have a strangely high failure rate. I guess the good factor is if the replacement will last a year, it need to last ten years. Hopefully the failure is not an indication of QA difficulties in the factory. Manufacturer Response:Hello, we are very sorry for the difficulty. Please visit the link below and produce a support ticket to get in touch with our staff to arrange for a replacement drive. We are confident that your new drive will serve you nicely into the future. Easy install with Win7 64bit, 7.9 on Windows Expertise Index, One of the 4 SSD's ࿗gig) failed soon after three weeks. Red Fault0 light on board. Had to generate a new RAID0 with only the 3 remaining. I read equivalent complications from other reviewers, but mistakenly thought they I wouldn't be 1 of them. OCZ and Newegg will not cross ship a replacement, so I am stuck with no a drive although it's finding replaced. Cost/Performance is questionable particularly when taking into account the hassle factor of a failed unit. Considering that I have a Windows Household Server with eight terabytes of data, I don't require big local storage. I assumed I could get 4 or five years of performance out of this just before replacing with a newer technologies, so the efficiency gain could be worth it. It's just a hassle to re-install Win7 and all my apps/configs from scratch three or four times in a month just to keep it limping along. Manufacturer Response:Hello, we are extremely sorry for the issue. Typically we can cross ship as lengthy as a item is readily available in our principal facility. We care about our customers and do our best to get them running as rapidly as possible. Thank you

It is the fastest non commercial drive on the planet......when it works! Guess this is what I get for wanting to be cutting edge. Following 2 days of trying to get this to work lastly contacted OCZ support and their official response id that this drive is not compatible with Asus MB at this time. The MB in fact sees it as a video card....u feel this small bit of info would be mentioned somewhere. Im operating a Asus deluxe p6v2 There is one present workaround on the ocz forum but it needs multiple drive and disk imaging which for nearly 轜 it shouldnt be this big of a PIA. So ahead of i even contacted newegg for RMA wanted to get this posted..... Cant wait for this to actually function.... Manufacturer Response:Hello, we are sorry that you are having difficulties. The concern you write about is a BIOS difficulty that could be resolved by the board manufacturer. Because other producers do not have this problem with the identical chipset, we encourage you to get in touch with the board maker for a fix.Thank you

Quick! Quiet! Pc boots from power off to login screen much less than 40 seconds. Every little thing loads swiftly. Pricey. But contemplating what I originally paid for my prior setup it is essentially more affordable. Had to download drivers for reloading Windows 7. Required a method transfer utility. Replaced my 4 74 Gb Raptor drive Raid setup that I utilised for several years. It was quite noisy. Plus required fans running all the time. Took out the fans now have two 1Tb drives and 1 150 Gb raptor and the REVO X2 for the boot drive. Technique run faster and is super quiet.

What can you say it is a SSD PCIe and 240 GB! It is tricky to install and the guide from the OCZ site did not function. I have the upgrade versions of Vista and windows 7 I have the P6X58D Premium. It will say x86.Take a deep breath and relax. You may run into some trouble but do not get upsetŋ-Unplugged all other drives. The Revo drive does show up in bios once it is plugged in. I have 1 GTX480 and later program on intalling an additional so I left the space for the second graphics card. The Revdrive showed up as a [Raid: 06ᚨ- SiI R] In Bios it showed it as a Raid1 initially.2- In the bios go to storage configuration and be sure the Sata controller is set to idle.three- I had to install Vista upgrade as I have each Vista and 7 as upgrades. You have to use the Vista 64 bit with the 7 64 bit. I do not know why but the windows 7 disk did not allow a boot from the CD/DVD. This factor screams!. OS and apps load just before your finger has finished the second mouse click! Effortless setup, went proper in. Played nicely with each my Areca 1260 raid 10 and ICH10 raid 6. I thought my raids put out some throughput.... but this factor takes the cake! This factor screams (or rather screamed)! Now I'm the one screaming..... Ordered it on Nov 4th, had it up and running with Win 7 x64 on the 5th. Failed on the 10th. Died with out any warnings or notification. Booted the machine only to locate an ominous glowing red LED on the Revo shining through the case window. The Revo's raid utility showed that 1 of the 4 SSDs had dropped off line. Nothing in the utility can seem to bring it back or even get it to recognize the lost drive. Tech support notified but I don't see them getting this back up and running with out an RMA. We'll see. I've often been a huge Raid fanatic for my gaming rigs. I decided to wait until the SSDs had been a bit more matured before creating the jump away from platters for my boot drive. I waited patiently for the X2s to hit the marketplace and plunked down my money the minute that they did. I feel I may be paying the old price for early adoption. From the few days I had her running it was like getting a new machine all over once more, and it was already viciously rapidly before the Revo X2. I hope this is not a portent of points to come with this line. four Eggs....I'll give OCZ the benefit of the doubt at this point. It looks like they have a winning item here and that I just got unlucky with this 1. But mainly because of the much less than 1 week failure I can't justify that 5th egg. Manufacturer Response:Hello, we are sorry for the challenge, and the inconvenience. Our staff will help you and will recommend an RMA if required.Thank you

This is a continuation/update from my post from back in Nov 10. Like I stated just before, putting 1 of these into your machine is like having a new machine all over once again. I'm generally 1 to swap out parts looking for performance. No CPU or GPU will quite give you such drastic alter in performance like the Revo can. These drive will make your machine respond like absolutely nothing else. This is a replaced drive from 1 that failed back in Nov 10. The drive failed last night. Worked fantastic prior to booting last night. Challenging failed, no LEDs, no BIOS post. Moved it to a couple of diverse machines but no luck. On a side note the factor is dead but somehow becomes wicked hot to the touch. Back in November I ordered this drive on the day it was available. 11 days later 1 of the four on board SSDs kicked the bucket and could not be recovered. After going by means of OCZs tech support they suggested it to be RMAd. Due to the fact it was still under Newegg's 30 day policy I went that route, instead of sending it to OCZ. I new Newegg would get a seriously quick turn around. I still love these boards! I work at distributed simulation shop for the US Air Force and I had them attempt a few boards out in a side by side test, and they were sold. We're now making use of them in several of the high-finish-workstations and are also making use of the Z3s for our far more high demand sim servers. With these additions we're seeing some outstanding increases in total method IO.

Bit the bullet and took the plunge with no regret. My PC had 14 drives on my OCZ 128 SSD. Four drives were hooked up to a RocketRaid 2640X4 HighPoint as a JBOD. The draw back: boot sequence conflict defaults to a hard drive. I had to pull out the RocketRaid for it to work. Still worth it.

Cons: Not a huge upgrade from a regular SATA SSD for most users.

Pros: So fast you'll feel like the guy in the Maxell magazine ads!240GB is a nice size for OS, apps and games. Not a bad price for what you are getting.Gets rid of one more ugly cable and power connecter in your case.Easy install and setup.Looks badass in your case! I'm glad OCZ didn't cover it in a generic plastic enclosure.Blue activity LED's are a nice touch.

I upgraded for a Vertex 1 to this beast. I was eyeing it up for a while and finally bit when an open box unit came up for a good chunk of change off the list price. The benchmarks and performance of the X2 are out of this world! It is exaclty like Linus shows on his Youtube review. Everyting is near instant once you have one of these! It's definitley not the same "WOW effect" compared to upgradeing from a HD to an SSD but the improvements are still there. Power users will definitely appreciate the incredible read/write throughput and random i/o's of the X2. Even after installing the OS and lots of apps, I still got 833MB/s read and 701MB/s write in Atto which is higher than OCZ specs! Highly recommended product!

This thing is insanely fast, I don't even know where to start.Installing Windows 7 on it was very easy, just load the drivers onto a USB stick, insert  it when asked and point setup to the drivers, the Revodrive will then show up as a drive you can install to. Thats all there is to it. Simple.I was going to buy my wife an SSD for her computer, but since I already had an Intel X25-M 160GB G2 in my gaming rig, I bought the Revodrive and gave the "old" SSD to her instead. :-)
