OCZ Vertex 4 128GB 2.5IN SATA3 SandForce TBD Solid State Disk Flash Drive SSD
Cons:a bit pricier (but it's constantly on sale..)
Pros:Sata3, install bracket included Comment:
First purchase of my own SSD, install went smoothly. Vast improvement from a Disk drive on my media machine. Haven't run into any stuttering or anything of the sort so far in the past month. |

OCZ Vertex 4 128GB 2.5IN SATA3 SandForce TBD Solid State Disk Flash Drive SSD
Cons:OCZ utility and documentation
Pros:Beats a hard disk Comment:
Replaced a 5400 RPM hard drive in a budget laptop. Night and day. Kudos to OCZ for continuing firmware development. Brickbat to OCZ for the absence of clear documentation (re: firmware update s) and a cryptic update utility. The Linux update util ISO (appears to be third party) is the way to go for main system drive upgrades. |

OCZ Vertex 4 128GB 2.5IN SATA3 SandForce TBD Solid State Disk Flash Drive SSD
Cons:Had to update the firmware to get the best speeds. This is REALLY easy for a tech savvy person. May be a problem for an email/facebook checker. I imagine also the reason for this sale. New models should come with 1.4.1.3 or higher.
Pros:FAST! So much better than my 7200rpm Comment:
Great drive. I've only had it for a few days but so far my restart times have been reduced substantially along with installs and game load times. |

OCZ Vertex 4 128GB 2.5IN SATA3 SandForce TBD Solid State Disk Flash Drive SSD
Cons:-destructive firmware update
Pros:-Fast-Came with 3.5" drive adapter-Easy firmware update, even with the drive installed as my main drive-great price. I got this on sale for $119.99 Comment:
So far I love this drive. I was worried about purchasing this drive due to the reviews talking about the destructive firmware update and having to have it as a second drive on a spare computer. Once I recieved the drive and needed to do the update I contacted OCZ and they instructed me on how to do the update to 1.4 from a CD at boot while the Vertex 4 was my only drive installed. The process was very easy. The speed of this drive is awesome. I used to be one of the last person to load into BF3 and know I am one of the first. The boot time is also crazy fast.Overall I am impressed with this drive and I am looking at buying a second one for me and a third one to istall in my wifes laptop. |

OCZ Vertex 4 128GB 2.5IN SATA3 SandForce TBD Solid State Disk Flash Drive SSD
Cons:Firmware updates require another computer
Pros:Fast, on sale Comment:
Drive runs smooth in laptop, okay price for size of drive; however, firmware updates require plugging into another computer which requires taking computer apart to update. |

OCZ Vertex 4 128GB 2.5IN SATA3 SandForce TBD Solid State Disk Flash Drive SSD
Cons:- Specs here says for Read/Write -- 535Mb/200Mb and on OCZ's website with firmware 1.4 they say 550Mb/420Mb but with CrystalDiskMark I only get 445Mb/242Mb on the latest firmware so wtf?!
Pros:- Best price/quality ratio on sale at 120$ for 128Gb! I paid that price for the Crucial M4 64Gb I bought 1.5yr ago!- Fastest SSD available, yet no lame SandForce controller so more reliable. Comment:
Remember to unplug all other drives when installing Win7 otherwise this dumb*** will create a system partition on ur other HDD and you'll have to reinstall all over again on ur SSD. I clearly lost 1-2 houres. For the firmware update you need to SHUTDOWN, not restart if you want it to work. Mine came 1.3 so I update d to 1.4.1.3Not sure if OCZ's spec are bs cause I don't trust write speeds of 420Mb on a non-sandforce drive and even less if they're previous 200Mb before firmware 1.4 was tested on the same program they used "ATTO" cause I get much less with CrystalDiskMark. I'll investigate this but so far it's a damn good deal! |

OCZ Vertex 4 128GB 2.5IN SATA3 SandForce TBD Solid State Disk Flash Drive SSD
Cons:none
Pros:5 year warranty, not a Buggy sandforce controller. Comment:
I purchased this 128GB SSD to replace my OCZ vertex 3 60 SSD, That I have had in my gaming for my OS drive. I just needed more space. I picked it up onsale for $119.99 what a steal for a 128GB SSD. I am thinking of picking up another one for a raid 0 setup. The speeds of the ssd do increase with the new firmware version, but it is a destructive update so you will lose all your data.So backup before you update . |

OCZ Vertex 4 128GB 2.5IN SATA3 SandForce TBD Solid State Disk Flash Drive SSD
Cons:None that I can think ofI suppose it could have come with latest firmware but not really an issue, see pros
Pros:Super fastEasy firmware updateNice 3.5" mounting bracket Comment:
Got win7 installed, and it booted before the windows logo could finish spinning around... very cool.Updating the firmware was super easy and their forum had a detailed guide for the whole process. Was heavily considering the Crucial m4, but this is using a similar controller (actually newer) and seems to be just as reliable so far.Got for under $1/gb, at that price it's a steal. Plan to buy a 64GB version for my server in the near future. |

OCZ Vertex 4 128GB 2.5IN SATA3 SandForce TBD Solid State Disk Flash Drive SSD
Cons:-None
Pros:-Fast-easy to update Comment:
The process of installing a new firmware is pretty easy if you follow the instructions. Load times for skyrim have hit the floor since installing this as a game drive. Nothing bad to say about the drive so far. |

OCZ Vertex 4 128GB 2.5IN SATA3 SandForce TBD Solid State Disk Flash Drive SSD
Cons:-SSD is not detected on cold boot on my gaming laptop (MSI GT780DXR-275US). I have to reboot the computer for the SSD to be dected. I returned the firse SSD, but got the same issue with the replacement one.
Pros:-Excellent performances-Good price Comment:
Appart for the issue mentioned, the SSD performs amazingly well. Unfortunately, releasing a drive with that kind of issue is bothersome for me. I don't plan to wait for a year for a fix, so I'll get an Intel drive instead. It's sad, but at the speed computers are evolving, waiting a year to have a fully functional drive is the time one would buy a new one... The bug was a deal breaker for me. |

OCZ Vertex 4 128GB 2.5IN SATA3 SandForce TBD Solid State Disk Flash Drive SSD
Cons:OCZ don't give you the SSD with the latest firmware, it's always a bit stressful to update a firmware because of the risk that this may cause.
Pros:Windows booting so fast, after the Windows boot logo I'm ready to type my password and I can't even see the "Welcome" message... Comment:
This is my first SSD ever, I expected a good time to move forward with this technology. I am completely satisfied with my purchase, the performances are incredible compared to my HDD. The utility for updating firmware is very easy to use, here's the link: http://www.ocztechnology.com/ssd_tools/OCZ_Vertex_4Starting Windows will never be the same with a SSD Vertex 4 ;) |

OCZ Vertex 4 128GB 2.5IN SATA3 SandForce TBD Solid State Disk Flash Drive SSD
Cons:Mounting adapter didn't work with the sleds of an Antec 302
Pros:Great initial boot times of about 8 seconds after first installing Windows.Includes screws and a 3.5" mounting adapter. Comment:
Initial reviews of the Vertex 4 had it performing very lackluster but once you update it to the newest firmware, it reaches its potential and performs just as well or better than a Vertex 3. A warning: it is a destructive update so you will have to either install windows twice on it or put it on a different computer to update the firmware. |

OCZ Vertex 4 128GB 2.5IN SATA3 SandForce TBD Solid State Disk Flash Drive SSD
Cons:None yet. 2 days of pure awesome usage only
Pros:Awesome product. WORKS ON MY MACBOOK PRO 5,5 MCP79 3gbps Comment:
I wanted a SSD for a long time. I am a MACBOOKPRO user and have a mid 2009 SataII MCP79 sata controller in my machine. It is knows to problems with the sandbridge chip SSD's... I was doubtful and pulled the trigger on the new Vertex 4 Indilinx was the reason. It worked like a charm. Installed just like any drive. Enabling TRIM in osx cli was just a simple cut/paste joke. I am STOCKED ! |
First experience with SSD and I am very satisfied. It does not crash, was detected right away by mobo and Win7 install disk.
