Great hardware, good software
Comment:
The hardware works great, though I was annoyed that I had to run out and get a 4-pin to SATA adapter. Not sure how often that happens, really. I run Vista 64 and did have some problems with the Cyberlink program after an early update, but system restore fixed it and everything has been running smoothly ever since. Very pleased with the picture quality, though I am aware I will need to upgrade the software if I want to do full Dolby Digital sound. |

Garbage
Comment:
A complete a waste. If you are running Windows 7, 64 bit---beware. This product just does not work and there is simply no support. Plextor could care less. They wont help. They have no drivers. It just does not work. Spend a few more bucks and try something else. |

Pricey but good
Comment:
Purchase was made to rip and play DVDs and BDs. The player works exactly as advertised; I'm very satisfied. The included software is great, but lacks full functionality needed to have the best HD Home Theater experience--I'll end up upgrading. |

Good product
Comment:
I bought this to replace a Sony BDROM that was problematic and I have to say I like the Plextor much better. A very solid design. The only downside is that the software that came bundled is Cyberlinks BD Suite which is ok, but you have to buy the full version to get Dolby Digital sound and get rid of the nags. |

Works great
Comment:
Only used item for a couple of weeks and working great so far. Updating firmware was real easy with their Plex Utilities software. Has played about 25 Blu Rays without any problems. |

Best of Three
Comment:
OK, started out with one of the first Lite-on BDs. Only lasted about 6 months before the blue laser conked out. Next went with an LG BD. Decent enough, some video stutter which is pretty much unavoidable with a PC BD. Got this Plextor and it's been the best of the three. More features including LightScribe and although I may be imagining this, it seems to have much less of a stutter issue. Completely pleased with this unit. |

Great Blue Ray Combo
Comment:
Plextor does it again! Excellent drive reads blu-rays flawlessly. As far as the software, get ready to pay for the ultimate versions of the software in the suite. Especially if you want the best quality to play Blu-Ray movies out to your LCD big screen. Another consideration... for a little more money you can get an LG Blu-Ray writer. |

Good Buy
Comment:
Read bad reviews about Cyberlink software bundled with this player. Not as bad as listed. Player has work flawlessly.Software is as good as the person using it I guess. |
Worked great right out of the box. It's faster than my current DVD drive but I have no basis for comparison with other bluray drives. Haven't used the Lightscribe feature or any of the software included so I can't comment on those. I would have no problem buying another.
