POWERCOLOR Active DisplayPort to Single-Link DVI-D Adapter DP-SL DVI-D ADAPTER

It functions when utilized with a Single-Link DVI-D->DVI-D cable (check world wide web how to identify a single-link cable but all DVI to DVI cables I got with my monitors were single-link so yours could be too) Maybe a small too expensive I bought this active adapter after purchasing a Radeon HD-5770 card and wanted to have three monitors attached to my personal computer. I connected two monitors (including the primary one) by way of DVI and the third 1 (after installing Catalyst) I connected to Display Port using this adapter and a single-link DVI to DVI cable. Anything worked smoothly.

This works with ATI's Eyefinity. I have it as my main display. I recently bought 3 24" LED monitors to work with Eyefinity. This adapter does the job. No flickers, no tearing, nothing at all. Not a 贶 adapter. You don't have to waste a USB port just for the adapter. None, none......um....none.

Cost-If it worked Does not output full HD like advertised. Possibly defective, who knows. Nonetheless, it did function. Just not nicely enough to give me 56??x1080 that I had intended to make with a three monitor Eyefinity setup. I have read the earlier posts about complications with this device but took the price to be my deciding aspect. If you are arranging to use this for Eyefinity please evaluation AMD's web page about compatible active adapters. This item is not listed. Presently I'm waiting for a return e-mail from "hugo@powercolor.com." Sadly I didn't keep the box or original packaging. I completed my Eyefinity setup just this week. I am convinced that the challenge is in the device and not the video card. Card performs well and will enter Eyefinity, but Eyefinity will only help the resolution of the weekest monitor. If I can't get this RMA'd then I'm going to Accell. Manufacturer Response:These adapters have been extensively tested in several configurations with many types of monitors, and they ought to assistance the supported resolutions devoid of a issue. More than likely yeah you got a defective one, but we can undoubtedly assist you in getting a replacement. Thanks.-Hugo

Superior cost, good top quality cables Can't appear to get it to display at all for a 3rd monitor. Even unhooking other monitors and getting just this adapter connected to a single-link DVI monitor yields a "No signal" response from the monitor right after reboot. Utilizing ATi Radeon HD 5500 Series card under Ubuntu 10.4 LTS that has DVI, HDMI, and DisplayPort outputs. All three identical 1900x1200 monitors are single-link DVI (am utilizing an HDMI -> DVI converter cable which works great for the main monitor). The monitors plugged into the HDMI and DVI ports function fine. I can't seem to get a usable signal from the DisplayPort nevertheless. Initially thought it was a driver difficulty, but other people are having success with this configuration with other "active" adapters. Those active adapters all have the extra USB power plug although. Am thinking about ordering 1 of the other "active" adapters (which price 3x far more) to see if that rectifies my difficulty. Hugo, any thoughts? I'd love to stick with this product if I could, the manufacturing good quality is good. Manufacturer Response:Do you have a passive display port connector you can try? If you can't get a display even if it's the only monitor plugged in then I'd say it may be an problem with the adapter (or cable) itself, which is uncommon since immediately after all it's just an adapter. Either way you can try swapping the cable out. It ought to work. Nothing about your configuration strikes me as odd. E-mail me if you haven't gotten this resolved. hugo@powercolor.com, thanks.-Hugo

Works as expected appropriate out of the box. Plug it up and it just works. I enjoy when items are so simple. None so far. I had a problem with my crossfire 5770s so decided to run my third 1600x1200 via one of these active adapters. I'm glad I did. The method is now operating a tad cooler and no a lot more troubles related to crossfire.

Affordable, plug and play. Running three - 24" monitors off of a 5830 @ 5760x1080 with two monitors dvi-d and 1 with this adapter. None. No need to have to debate no matter whether it will function. Although note - according to manufacturer site, maximum resolution is 1920x1200 per monitor. I think you want a dual link adapter for greater resolutions.
