Patriot Xporter XT Rage 16GB USB 2.0 Flash Drive
Cons:Slow 4K speed of 1 MB/s write, 5 MB/s read
Pros:Speed 28MB/s read, size, outside skin, built in cover Comment:
This is a nice small USB drive with great read and write speeds: 28MB/s read, 19MB/S write. The 4k speed is a bit disappointing at 5 MB/s read, 1 MB/s write, but the 1.2ms access speed is great.I like the feel of the outside skin. It definitely won't slip through our hand and it makes it easier to pull out of a tight USB port. |

Patriot Xporter XT Rage 16GB USB 2.0 Flash Drive
Cons:Never enough space, but 32's are still too pricey
Pros:Fast, really fast! Retractable so no cap to lose. Comment:
This is the second Patriot rage card I have purchased and the first time I have repeated buying the same flashcard twice. I have had good luck with Patriots in the past. |

Patriot Xporter XT Rage 16GB USB 2.0 Flash Drive
Comment:
Rugged style...very quick read speeds...retractable USB connector = no cap to lose...little size...excellent capacity for price. As with prior reviews I'm surely not seeing the advertised write speeds. Tested on XP PRO x64 and Windows 7 Ultimate x64 with several benchmarking tools. The best write speeds I achieved using CrystalDiskMark are below: Sequential Read : 32.501 MB/s Sequential Write : 16.531 MB/s Random Read 512KB : 32.300 MB/s Random Write 512KB : .721 MB/s Random Read 4KB (QDɣ) : 6.079 MB/s [ 1484.two IOPS] Random Write 4KB (QDɣ) : .006 MB/s [ 1.five IOPS] Random Read 4KB (QD៴) : 6.194 MB/s [ 1512.1 IOPS] Random Write 4KB (QD៴) : .007 MB/s [ 1.6 IOPS]Pretty disappointed in the write speeds that only accomplish 66% of advertised max. Write speeds for me are a critical dealbreaker for me as I use this drive primarily to run portable applications. This is my first Patriot flash drive. They brought me in with the mixture of a nice capless design (I HATE drives with caps to lose) and super quickly write speeds. Effectively, they came through on the nice design, but definitely did not deliver on the write speeds. My OCZ Rally2 Turbo has faster write speeds than this drive. Manufacturer Response:Dear Valued Customer,Please be aware that performance can vary from platform to platform. The overall speeds of the drives should be up to 25MB/s write and 27MB/s read. These benchmarks tested we use x58. Benchmark applied to get these numbers were HDBench at 40MB. If you have any technical questions, please don't hesitate to contact support@patriotmem.com for assistance.Thank You for deciding on Patriot Memory!Type Regards,Patriot Memory Support |

Patriot Xporter XT Rage 16GB USB 2.0 Flash Drive
Cons:false claim on the write speed.
Pros:good design, fair write speed, fast read speed 34mb/s, good chance of RAGE as the name suggests Comment:
I just bought this drive yesterday, did some extensive testing/reformatting, but no matter what I did, it did NOT deliver the advertised write speed of 25mb/s. the speed averaged about 18.5mb/s max, its decent but considering my old OCZ Rally 2 doing 17mb/s. However the read speed is exceeds the advertised read speed, reaching 34mb/s. I read some forums of some guys claiming that a RMA got them a better driver that does 20~23mb/s, if you have the time and patience then do it. The drive got its pros and cons, but overall I think its a good buy.if anyone interested in reading the forum, here is the link:http://www.patriotmemory.com/forums/archive/index.php/t-4310.html?s=7231bf32cee8f963a58a7943256d2ae7PS: Ad was true about the possibility of you RAGEing after you find out the actual write speed, LOL |

Patriot Xporter XT Rage 16GB USB 2.0 Flash Drive
Cons:BulkyCap is only kind of "protective"
Pros:FastCheapDurable Comment:
The drive does what it says on the box, works fast! On sale this is very much worth it, without the discount, unless you really really need the speed, there are probably better deals. The drive is bigger than many current 1gb solutions out there and the sliding "cap" mechanism does protect the drive somewhat but doesn't prevent dust etc. from getting into the connections. |

Patriot Xporter XT Rage 16GB USB 2.0 Flash Drive
Cons:Retraction mechanism is not as sturdy as othersWhat, no cheesy lanyard included?!
Pros:FastNo cap to lose Comment:
As everyone else says, it's definitely fast - this is no doubt the fastest USB drive I've owned around this price range. Capless is good, but my brother also owns one and a year on, it's definitely worse for wear - I would even say that the cheaper feeling Patriot Dash has a better retraction setup but YMMV. I would also say that the pictures somehow make it seems smaller than it is; if you think this is small like one of those tiny Kingston or Corsair drives, it's not; it's pretty thick for a USB, so just know that it's a little chunkier and possibly a bit longer than what you'd expect. Overall though, it does what it says it will do. |

Patriot Xporter XT Rage 16GB USB 2.0 Flash Drive
Cons:False advertising on the "lifetime warranty".
Pros:Speed, size, price Comment:
This flash drive performs as advertised, but I am disappointed in the information on NCIX's website. This item is advertised in two locations in the description as having a lifetime warranty. However, the packaging it comes in clearly states the warranty period is five years. Still a good warranty, but it's no lifetime! |

Patriot Xporter XT Rage 16GB USB 2.0 Flash Drive
Cons:
Not USB 3.0, heh!
Pros: Elegant, sturdy, fast. Comment:
Very elegant USB key. The rubber/plastic that covers it gives a very nice, soft feeling. It feels fairly solid and the retracting system is very sturdy as well. I previously owned a Corsair mini USB key which was a pain to insert in a USB port since the retractable system was too flimsy. This one works like a charm. About 20 MB/s on consistant write and 31 MB/s on consistant reading. Price matched at $27, it is nearly as expensive as any other 16 GB USB key so it makes a fairly good deal. |

So far, so good. I got mine on a recent sale [35$], if it werent on sale would i buy it? Prolly not. But a 16gb flashdrive for that is pretty awesome in my eyes. It wrote at 22-26mb/s when i was moving around some movies and such, it read it at a low of 68 or so, and a high of 100mb/s which is absolutely awesome. No more waiting around for shit to get done :DEven for full price i would recommend this to someone if they were wanting a good sized drive and fast write/read times, otherwise id suggest a lower end drive. |

Cons:
Flimsy connectorRead speeds 5MB/s below advertised
Pros: Very good read speedCapless design Comment:
Got this drive to act as a portable program storage, for IDEs like netbeans and eclipse. Stock formatted 8KB FAT32, tried the patriot performance formatter and this made sectors 64KB. Performance went up 3MB/s in writes(read same) BUT since sectors got so large the amount of wasted space was crazy - for example, netbeans has lots of small 1KB files, and each one of them takes up a full 64KB sector, so with 8000 files the waste is crazy. Rolled back to 8KB, getting steady 20 writes, 28 reads. All in all, quite happy with it, IDEs boot up in a couple seconds. |

Benchmarks may show otherwise, but this is still one of the fastest USB2 flash drives out there. Real world performance has been great for me and it's noticeably faster than my Boost XT and Survivor drives. |

This thing feels indestructable. It also has a nice soft rubbery type of feel to it. The slider feels sturdy, not flimsy. Speeds are amazingly fast. It advertises 25MBps, but I saw it go faster than that sometimes. Read speed is even faster. |

Patriot Xporter XT Rage 16GB USB 2.0 Flash Drive
Cons:
chubby, hard to fit in xbox360very, VERY weak 4k random writes
Pros: Fast sequential read/write speeds Comment:
I don't know why people say they can't achieve 25MB/s write speeds. I do. Well, nearly 25MB/s. I can do 22~23MB/s write, right out of the box, stock, non formatted, nothing, nada, straight up.I used Crystal Disk Mark to check on this. Here are my results : 5x 50MBSEQ 28.970 23.910512 28.920 8.4134K 4.486 0.759 (AWFUL!!!)4KQD32 5.346 0.847 (AWFUL!!!)5x 500MBSEQ 30.260 24.230512 30.280 1.7114K 5.505 0.015 (AWFUL!!!)4KQD32 5.713 0.016 (AWFUL!!!)5x 1000MBSEQ 30.340 24.310512 30.330 1.5494K 5.630 0.012 (AWFUL!!!)4KQD32 5.902 0.013 (AWFUL!!!)In windows 7 x64 I transfered a couple of mp3s, tv shows and other documents (to simulate real life usage) and I averaged 23.4MB/s Write and 29.2MB/s Read. This drive is great so far (1 day of use). I can't wait to test it in my xbox 360... hopefully it'll pass Microsoft's minimum requirements... I also hope it'll fit in the small slots because it's a little bit chubby.Patiot released a formatter for those drives, check out their web site : http://www.patriotmemory.com/support/driversp.jspselect the PEF16GRUSB product from the list. Patriot Xporter XT Rage 16GB USB 2.0 Flash Drive
Cons:
Average 4K read (6.9), poor 4K write (0.014).
Pros: Fast sequential read and write (31.8/25.6) Comment:
It's stock formated at FAT32, which is ideal for best compatibility. I used Paragon Alignment Tool and plugged in into a USB 3.0 port for a best case scenario. It's sequential stats are good for an external drive, but it's random access stats make it less than ideal for a Readyboost drive. |

Patriot Xporter XT Rage 16GB USB 2.0 Flash Drive
Cons:
Sub-spec write speeds
Pros: Very fast read speed Comment:
If you take the packaging at face value this seems like a great deal - but the advertised 25MB/s write speeds a bit of a pipe dream. Reads are very fast - consistently over 30MB/s, but write speeds cap out at 16MB/s on my newest machine (an i7) and settle at 12 on my aging Q6600, with other systems in between... Looking through the forums it appears a lot of people cap out at 15 - seems if you don't have the right chipset you're out of luck. That said, I can live with 16MB/s - I would have liked 20+ but it's a hell of a lot faster than my last drive, and on sale the price was right. |

Seems like a great flash drive that is nice and fast.
