Patriot Xporter XT Rage 8GB USB 2.0 Flash Drive
Comment:
It worked very properly and was relatively fast. It broke after two weeks for no apparent cause with right care. My other, inexpensive, little flash drive has lasted me five years or so. This a single broke following two weeks. Unfortunately my schedule is very busy so I didn't have time to get it returned (or sleep) so I can't say if it was just this one or if it's just a shoddy product. I'm suspicious of the complete sliding mechanism utilised alternatively of a cap like my older one utilizes. Manufacturer Response:Dear Valued Buyer, We're sorry for any inconveniences this may have triggered you. Please don't hesitate to speak to support@patriotmem.com for any technical queries you may have and we'll gladly look into the concern to see what may well have happened. Rapid really fast read and write (ㅑMB+/- write speeds). Poor case design, slider that covers USB connector went drop following a week of owning it and now just slide open and closed like it was greased. Choose this Patriot Rage XT up about a month ago. Write performance is good (ㅑMB/sec) and read overall performance exceptional as effectively. The only downside is the design of the casing. It has a sliding cover to expose the USB connector or hide it from damage. Immediately after about a week, it got so loose it would just slide open by choosing it up. Appropriate now I can just shake it lightly and it slides open and closed. Bit of a difficulty when you pocket it for transport - if the USB connector gets bent or damaged, than you're all accomplished. Less that defect, as a drive it performs good and would be a five star solution.

Comment:
The drive is modest and rapid simply achieves advertised read/write speeds, I use USB drives to store temp online files [ virus - mal-ware - spy-ware] - its nice to be in a position to throw a infected drive out - then scan your system for hours - don't like to feel about what the infected files are carrying out in the time it requires to uncover and delete them.. None to think of.. The slower drives make the net lag a bit [takes longer to load cookies and crapware on your method] not these drives - and C Cleaner is quicker as well..

This is a great tiny flash drive. really compact in length and transfers at the advertised speeds. A good replacement for my older patriot xt flash drive. a little wide. if your adjacent usb ports are horizontal you could have a difficulty with crowding. A worthy buy. I would obtain once again.

This drive is incredible. I was capable to copy 650MB of PSDs and such to the drive in a matter of seconds. The hard shell give the drive a good really feel. The USB plug retracts in my pocket which sort of defeats the objective of the retraction function. Size of drive:exFAT: 7.45GBFAT16: 7.45GBFAT32: 7.44GBI did not test ext2Ǚǚ or HFS(+).

Quite Fast! Nice Size, I really like it! No stupid cap on it that you would inevitably drop. Wonderful Price tag None that I can see! I formatted it to NTFS, I read somewhere that would increase speeds- not sure if that is accurate or not. But it operates good!Wish i would have purchased the bigger one! Go for the 16, 32, or much better however- the 64gb version!

High study and write speeds proper up to the point of the crash. This USB drive has a quite high error rate. On copying files of 500M or a lot more it is practically particular to fail somewhere throughout the transfer. On failure the stick locks itself into a read-only mode which can only be cured by removing and reinserting the stick. Following a couple of repetitions, the stick refuses to come up at all. I have the identical symptoms in 3 unique computers, below both Linux and Windows.Seeking at Patriot's buyer help web pages, I am far from the only person to have this problems. They have designed a particular Low-Level format utility just to address this dilemma. It works, but only temporarily. I really count on that a premium-value manufacturer like Patriot would be individually testing every single and every single unit prior to shipping. I can't picture how these were allowed to slip by means of. I purchased this to do quickly transfers of AVI files, but it is unusable. I have to keep checking the transfers, aborting, restarting, reformatting, etc. The affordable generic drives from my nearby electronics supermarket checkout counter show perform slowly but flawlessly. This unit is going back to NewEgg as defective. If NewEgg won't take it I'll throw it in the trash -- it's that worthless. I won't be taking a likelihood on anything from Patriot once more. Manufacturer Response:Dear Valued Client,We apologize for any inconvenience this may have triggered you. Please rest assured that all of our drives have gone via rigorous testing to ensure the finest excellent in the industry possible. Please be conscious that the low level format tool is a typical tool that is recommended as a means of factory resetting the drive, in some cases it is as productive as basically replacing the drive. This is a frequent tool applied amongst usb suppliers and repairs the drive. Other components that normally result in the drive to have this write protected symptom are viruses or status shock. For any further concerns please don't hesitate to make contact with help.Thank You for deciding upon Patriot Memory!Regards,HelpExternal Hyperlink(s): Contact Assistance|

really cool colors, large storage. fairly quickly speeds the keyring hole is actually genuinely smaller, -believe the size of a cell phone charm- and kinda flimsy, also the open close mechanisum is seriously weak so it comes open in my pocket a lot. both of these issues genuinely take away from its portability which is why we get them in the initial spot. if the value dropped far more than it is now i would deffenetly obtain another, i just use a cellphone charm variety keyring to put it on my key chain, speed is decent. love the appears and the brand.

I bought two of these -- one particular operates excellent and the other dies inside two weeks, as below. I sent the organization an e mail as per their assistance site about the drive that sudden died on me inside 2 weeks. They did not even bother responding to my e mail. Perhaps the 2nd drive dying so quickly was a statistical fluke that could come about to any drive.Ignoring a customer's e-mail about it -- while claiming to offer a limited lifetime warranty -- is not acceptable, ever. Manufacturer Response:Dear Tammy,We are sorry for any inconvenience this may possibly have triggered you. If you sent an e-mail not too long ago, please let up to two business days for your e-mail to be replied to. We answer all e-mails in the order they are received. - Fantastic overall performance, exceptional worth.- Lifetime warranty.- About half an inch shorter than the original Patriot XT.- Excellent construction, no caps to loose.- Pleasant to touch rubber-feel, not shiny, plastic. - Although far better IMO than a cap, the downside of a sliding design is that the USB contacts are exposed.- Activity LED is almost hidden now, would not possible to see if you thread a lanyard.- Wish they'd come with a hardware compose shield switch. The read / write speed is just about twice as rapidly as the original Patriot XT. In absolute numbers the read speed approaches 25 MB/sec, compose speed is about 15 MB/sec. The latter depends drastically on whether or not you are writing lots of tiny files or relatively handful of huge ones - as expected.Low-level formatting utility, offered from Patritot, does make a distinction. Super rapidly. Plugs in and operates. Dim LED in the back is trendy. I enjoy the lack of extra moving parts in the slider. It just slides. No springs attached ;) (i owned a sony product related to this and when the spring busted the complete factor was slagged). Try discovering a important ring Modest adequate to fit this. I tried.. now the rubber looks like junk, as if its been beat up by put on and tear for months currently. I'll try to exchange this for the old style. I have a couple of 4gb of these and I'm quite impressed. I'm headed into the sandbox and I dont think the exposed connection is wise. Furthermore I anticipate forgetting/losing/being relieved of it somehow.

SizeSpeed of transfersRugged style When I plug it in, I have to wait 30 seconds for the contents to show. This does not take place with any other USB flash drive I have utilised. My machine is an Alienware M17x R1 with Windows 7 64bit. Most recent Bios and drivers. This is odd behavior and have never ever witnessed it prior to. When browsable, it performs rapidly. For the price tag, I am happy with this drive. Manufacturer Response:Dear Beneficial Buyer,Thank you for your feedback. This is strange for your system to exhibit this behavior. No issues at all, formatted the drive and went on my way. Speed tests show it to be suitable beneath advertised speeds. Tiny size, No cap. No lanyard included. All my high finish drives came with one. My final patriot drive died prematurely, but that may have been my fault. Im confident this one particular will hold up far better.

Quickly read/write. Capless design. No added useless software package. Looks cool xD None Presently making use of this to setup new Dell precision workstations with a custom Windows 7 Install. Drive is operating flawlessly and the full Windows 7 install along with our platform software program (Office suite, Winzip, and so on.) goes from begin to finish in about 20 minutes.Good job Patriot and Newegg!

OK, this thing is quick, making use of exFAT 64kb allocation size I am finding a 23.5 MB/s write speed. No benefit for going to larger allocation unit size. Tried all the way up to 32 mb and it was only a minor boost in sustained transfer rates, but low speed from the spikes. Lots of modest files doesn't transfer as swift. I bought the 8gb, simply because the 16 had some negative testimonials, so I just wanted to test this and see how rapid. Now that I have tried it I wish I had just bought the 32GB.
