These discs make excellent drink coasters. Nice appearance, good quality finish but thats all i can say good about them. I have a LG GSA-4163B burner and it has a total allergic reaction to these discs. 25 coasters per spindle! Thats a unit cost of $1.67 each once the taxes are included. Avoid at all costs

Stop complaining about the media, it's the cheap ''lite-on'' drives that don't work. I have an HP drive, top quality, burns great and no issues. There are crap disk out there, but there are also crap burners; ''lite-on'' = ''generic'' so buy a better burner and stop wasting media.

They do not work at all in my LG GSA-4163B drive. Have burned DL DVD's in the past with no problem.

i bought a hp 1040d burner and a 25 pack of these discs from tiger direct in october. i got 4 successful burns out of 13 discs i used after giving up on them....after getting an upgraded firmware from hp...hp only took 4 tries to get me the firmware!! i complained to philips vis email last week, a canned response, nothing real yet DONT BUY THESE DISCS, SORRY TIGER!!! by the way, tiger, u have been fine!!!

I used product PHILIPS 25PK 8X DVD+R DL. My first movie copy was a success. I used nero burning software with a Nec ND 3550 burner. I first flashed the burner with the newest firmware 1.07 and checked recommended product list from manufacturer. I burned the DVD at 4X speed... the slowest. No skips...perfect backup copy.

I bought the double-pack (2 25 packs) of these disks and I had the same experience as the raters below. My Lite-On drive would not write these reliably at all. Lots of errors.

Won't burn in Nero. Gives a session failed error. Tried Roxio, gets to 99% then fails. Opened the packaged, burned 4 disks, and now I have 4 DL coasters. GARBAGE, DO NOT BUY!!!

Failed on LG GSA-4167B. I've had ZERO fails with 600 Verbatim 16x DVD+R's, 25 Philips DVD+R 8x and a few other DVD's and CD's. I tried burning with 4 different programs and managed to get 2 of 11 without failing. Nero gives the same ''tracking error'' which means basically the media is bad. Completely unacceptable. I even tried to find software to ''force'' burning and ignore errors (for video which can accept errors and still work). There's no such software. What's the use of creating Specifications/Standards if people don't meet them? GARBAGE! DON'T BUY!

Labeled as 8x, but my Sony drive writes at 2.4x. Also approximately half fail writing past 4.2 Gb. Consider paying a little more and wasting less.

Philips DVD+R(DL) did not work with my Matsushita UJ-842 drive. Be careful when selecting (DL) media. Certain drives seem to be picky about media brand.
