The Razer Lycosa is wonderful. It comes with a Cd for installing additional things. I plugged it into my pc without the disc. I have 32 bit XP and It worked Instantly. I would advise this to anybody. I like the lights also. I purchased the RAZER NAGA, RAZER LYCOSA and the new RAZER NOSTROMO...aka Belkin N52te. I paid about 40 dollars additional at very best get than I would have on NEWEGG which is also the ideal web page ever :D I would Advocate ALL 3 of the items for gaming. I will keep obtaining Razer goods and Im planning on spending about 񘘐.00 in about a month on NewEGG on my new computer system construct :D Thank you so considerably Razer for your products and thank you Newegg for becoming so fantastic. none

Pro- backlit, but not a friggin' beacon like my last illuminated keyboard. Keys feel quite excellent, just proper for keystroke and I definitely like the texture. Matches my Deathadder and Razer headset, so every little thing has a mild blue glow at my workstation. Huge plus, all 3 devices can have their enhancement lighting turned off for movie viewing or uber-scary gaming. I'm afraid that when I sweep a crucial with my fingernail although typing that it will eventually wear the coating, but no wear but. The coating does absorb oil from the fingers, so they darken and shine a bit with some use. Haven't attempted any cleaning product on them but, have to not bother me very considerably. I do not use the drivers or headset jacks. I don't use the USB port, either. To me, it's just a keyboard. It appears like those who are disappointed with the Lycosa are utilizing these functions. Because I don't, I don't have complications, either. A note on Razer drivers in general- they are not so excellent. They are also not needed to run these peripherals, so I don't bother switching away from the default Windows 7 HID drivers. Gave up on Razer driver assistance with Vista. Just plug it in and use it.

Incredibly soft keys, short keystroke, amazing lighting, usb and headphone/microphone jack on the keyboard. Fingerprints show quite very easily on this keyboard, if you're a neat freak that could be a challenge. Wasn't free of charge.

Like the kleyboard set up and the rubberized keys and backlighting but... This keyboard has shown apparently well documented issues of keys getting stuck and or unresponsive and all of this correct out of the box from day one. Requiring either unplugging the USB cables for the keyboard or restarting my PC. This model I think has been around for a couple of years and is my second Lycosa, my 1st 1 immediately after a couple of years of gamming use the C crucial quit working and was annoying when typing words with the letter C so I believed I would get another Lycosa keyboard and following the exact same experiences as other people correct out of the box new I will be RMA`ing this back to newegg as a defective keyboard.

Backlighting is superb and effortlessly shows the keys even in lit rooms. Rubberized keys help make certain good keystrokes and the action on the keys is smooth and sure. Handrest is removable if you already have 1 or deskspace is smaller. Keyboard is defective. On my last personal computer, it would randomly shift between lighting profiles going from completely lit to WASD lit, to not lit at all, at random occasions. Turns out this was a manufacturer defect that Razer admitted, and provided returns, but only in the course of the warranty period, which I was out of. Keys are unreadable if the backlighting is off. Surface is a fingerprint magnet showing every little finger press. Manufacturer Response:Razer will gladly replace any keyboard that is found to be defective inside the warranty period. Razer became aware of some concerns with the incredibly very first batch of Razer Lycosas produced in 2007. These units have generally all be replaced for the finish users. Your specific unit does not seem to fall directly into this batch. None the much less we are really sorry that you had any complications with your Lycosa regardless of when it was produced.

1. Neat little Blue lights that light up the keyboard.2. Cool little touch plate for volume/play/stop/track selection.three. Low profile feel and appear.four. Software is basic to use and is efficient at what it does.5. Has a USB port on the back suitable of the keyboard for uncomplicated USB stick or whatever access.6. Incredibly responsive whilst typing a paper or playin TF2, BF:BC2, or Rift.7. Macro support is cool :) :) 1. When you turn the lights off on the keyboard they turn virtually black. You can't see the keys corresponding letter/number.2. From time to time certain keys will stop responding, leading you to unplug the keyboard in the "heat of battle" for about 10-20 seconds to get the unreponsive keys to funtion once more.three. if the lights ever burn out you far better know the way around a keyboard trigger the keys are incredibly tough to see without the lights. Well, It's a keyboard at the end of the day. Just like the rest with a few additional bells and whistles. All depends on what ya like :)

Looks mighty sexy, enjoy the backlight - it's not too considerably for when you're in the dark, and it's not too small, it's just right. The really feel of this thing when typing is remarkable, I adore typing on it. The slight incline is not too much of an incline and it just fits my typing style like a glove. The coating on the keys also provides a nice feeling for your fingers. Occasionally I will lose a important or two out of the middle of nowhere - specifically the keys around the QWEASDZXC area of the keyboard. Unplugging it and plugging it back in corrects the concern. At times the multimedia location can get a small oversensitive - I have a tendency to mute my audio a lot when reaching over the keyboard to grab a drink or some thing of that nature. Even with its quirks, I nonetheless adore this keyboard. I'm not sure if the keys dropping out occasionally is an problem with the hardware, my USB controller, or just a driver concern - but I appear far past that since the keyboard outside of that is a beast.

i purchased this keyboard because of all the features it boasts, and because i've had great experiances with razer products in the past, this keyboard looks great, the backlighting is awesome but that's about where the pros end at least in my opinion. LOUD keys.... seriously, if you're not a fan of clickity clack, don't purchase this board.... my roommate can hear me typing from 3 rooms away like im in the similar room, and im not a heavy typer at all. this keyboard also dirties easily, i keep my hands clean and the first time i utilised it it looked like i had been typing following eating potato chips, and the greasy look hasn't gone away since even right after thorough wipe-downs. also, as far as functionality goes, as other people have stated... back lighting goes out on its own, keys quit responding constantly, and it has repeatedly opened windows media player for no cause and kept opening it over and over to the point where its impossible to do anything till i restart my pc. i started out utilizing the drivers on the disk that came with the keyboard, then upgraded to the ones on the website, checked firmware as properly, every thing is existing. seriously thinking about returning it if the difficulties don't finish soon cyberpower gamer ultra rig3.2GHz phenom II x41 GB PciE 2. x16 GeForce 9800GT4GB DDR3 1333windows 7 premium 64 bit

Blue back-light LEDs (love the color blue), slim sleek style, and media touch pad in leading left corner. Keys will randomly develop into 'stuck,' for me this takes place mostly in game such as COD4. Sticking keys are soon followed by quite a few other keys to develop into unresponsive (probably due to the array wiring of the keys) The touch pad works correctly much less than half of the time, its incredibly sensitive and that will trigger problems. Overall it feels of a flimsy low cost plastic material that will break easily (see other thoughts). I own the mirror edition so the only thing that is unique is the finishing appear of the keyboard. Both the normal and mirror suffer from the identical problems, if you don't think just google the keyboard. So I purchased my keyboard from a competitor website mainly because they had the superior deal at the time. Right after three weeks from receiving the keyboard i've began getting the similar problems as everyone else. 10 months later the delete important broke soon after becoming gently pressed. At that moment I RMA the board w/ Razor, they gave me a new keyboard but the keys sill stick. My resolution so far is to close every little thing out even though becoming confident to save anything, and restart. Most most likely the drivers for this keyboard cause my computer to BSOD on a restart practically each and every time. Unplugging the USB cable works too but I do not want to pull my pc out of my desk. Currently I am toying about with thought of installing a reset button into the keyboard to where it will just cut the power to the keyboard when pressed.

As a guy whom will permanently(tattoos) have the Razer logo very visible on him, I am embarrassed and ashamed I purchased this keyboard. I've owned the Lycosa for 2 weeks now. The usb hub will not perform on any PC or device in my home. The on-board mic & audio jacks nullify my headset by 8dB and often give static. The L shift and space bar are already sticking immediately after a week( I've had Ů keyboards that have lasted years of FPS gaming just before they started sticking) and the key pressure I have to maintain is insanely high for any keyboard (especially a ๠ + shipping gaming keyboard). I tried my finest to like this or at least not hate it. The crucial base is a great size but the key caps are truly, definitely tiny which makes me wonder: Did any person at Razer bother to get an opinion from anyone who actually tried gaming with this Lycosa just before they mass-produced and hyped it! I was going to wait on a review until I heard back from Razer, but they are non-existent on support. I am their greatest supporter and I have been waiting weeks for any reply from them. From here on out, My competition gear will be a DasKeyboard, a CoolerMaster Spawn mouse, a fUNC surface F30R or SteelSeries Qck+ and of course a Sennheiser 163D headset Manufacturer Response:Hi d34thly.The Razer Lycosa is loved by a lot of, but it may possibly not be for everyone’s private taste. The crucial pressure and really feel are just what I like, but they may possibly not be for you. That is why we have other keyboards obtainable. The USB hub is a pass by means of hub and is limited by the amount of bandwidth and present of the USB port it is plugged into. The length of the Lycosa wire will occasionally tax the limit of the USB port when specific devices are plugged in. Normally a normal mouse or similar device need to be OK to be employed in the port. For any troubles you may be getting please make positive to contact the Razer Support Team directly. They can be reached at 888-697-2037 or at www.razersupport.com/email. Telephone calls are promptly picked up and emails are normally replied to within a couple of hours.

Cons:Too many to list, read review....

Pros:Pretty packaging
Comment:
I'm starting to come to the conclusion that razor puts more effort into packaging then they do into the actual product. When I recieved this keyboad it looked extreamly sexy until I opened it up...First of all the over all board feels extreamly cheap and flimsy. The keys are practically unreadable unless the backlighting is turned on (which isn't all that great either). It randomly likes to change the backlighting from on to off to just the wasd keys lighting up. It types more like a 20 dollar retail plus keyboard from wal-mart. If it was priced at more like $50 it would be worth it, but at almost $100 its not.

Looks very good... and if it in fact worked the way the manufacturer claimed it would have been pro. On the other hand, this is not the case. Have never ever had this several problems or these varieties of problems with any other keyboard I've ever owned. Some keys quit working randomly, media keys activate on their own leading to literally dozens of open Windows Media Players, volume keys have never worked, macro's and common settings in no way save and so on.... too a lot of problems to list! The most frustrating is the complete lack of consumer support! The manufacturer "support team" appears so full of themselves and continuously inferred that their goods are infallible told me "the difficulties have to be on your finish, return the keyboard to newegg and get a new one if they persist." Which I did. Have the exact same troubles, and soon after contacting manufacturer support 23 times I have yet to get any answers/fixes to any challenge. Further far more, as I researched this keyboard a small bit I've identified a lot of a lot of more consumers experiencing the exact exact same troubles with the exact same horrible customer support telling them it was user error. CAVEAT EMPTOR! Will never once again get anything from this firm! I'm going to stick with Logi-tech... they generally put out excellent merchandise, and have awesome product support (although its rarely needed). That new Logi-tech g110 gaming keyboard has all characteristics the Razer Lycosa do and additional... and they really function!!! Pleased gaming every person... and do not purchase the Lycosa Razer!!!

Love the rubber keys and the touch section at the best. Genuinely comes in handy during gaming sessions, as I don't have to tab out to alter the song or mess with volume. The headphone and mic jacks at the top are good. I utilised to have to pull my desktop out of where it's at anytime I wanted to swap from speakers over to a headset to use ventrillo but now it takes me two seconds. The macros function fantastic for me and the several profiles enable me to set up for several games and characters with the capacity to swap them rather promptly. At times the keys quit working on me. Most of the time it's just fine but there are times where I'll be typing and I'll comprehend a letter is missing. At that point I typically start loosing much more and a lot more keys. A reboot will fix the issue and I've only ever had it occur to me a handful of times. It's still rather annoying when you're in the middle of a gaming session. I've heard that it's a drivers problem but I've tried it with no drivers, the drivers on the disk or just straight from the world-wide-web and either way I nonetheless have issues each and every now and then. A different dilemma I have a lot is my music player opening randomly like if I'm playing with the touch pad when I'm no where near it. Manually holding the razer logo on the touch pad for 15 seconds will automatically reset your profiles to the default and will commonly fix the problem but sometimes I have to reboot to fix that as properly. There are items that I completely love about this keyboard and there are some issues that are just a discomfort. For me, personally, if I had the opportunity to purchase this keyboard once more I in all probability would have taken my ๠ and spent it on one thing a little greater. It's not the worst keyboard I've owned in my life but it's not worth the steep cost for all the problems I've had with it, in my honest opinion.

None, acquire a unique keyboard. The only pro is that razer is sending me a black widow fundamental as a replacement. Lycosa was defective on arrival 12ቺ񳏊, will be replaced tomorrow threeǞ񳏋.Only takes razer two to 4 months to replace a defective product. I wish Zowie would send me a keyboard rather as Zowie Celeritas uses cherryMX brown switches rather of cherryMX black switches. Guess i'll have to save some money. Razer thinks the sun shines out their @**. I have been blown off by razer on any and all of my suggestions to them given that 2003. Razer ("for gamers by gamers") is so full of itself it won't even listen to a gamer. Men and women have complained for 6 years about the gloss plastic sides, however every mouse released by razer nonetheless has gloss sides. Every suggestion I've ever created to razer is answered "just attempt (they mean buy) one of our other a lot of razer goods that may possibly suit you greater" even when I prove I own every single razer item ever made (except new 2011 merchandise).

Bright BacklightLightweightSmooth The rubber on the keys sometimes makes it hard to slide your fingers for those few words that you may. This is me testing out my new keyboard. The non-slip rubber finish on the keys is a unique expertise than I thought it would be. It is really nice although. The spacing of the keys is a small different but I think that it will only take a little getting used to. We shall see how it fares over time. The backlightning isd a little nice. I am typing this into Notepad to test the type on it just before I submit it to newegg. The backlightning on it is actually quite gorgeous. nonetheless, it offers a bit of depth perception altering. Its nearly like the lighting provides a 3D raise to the keys so it makes you feel they are a little differently positioned than they actually are.Overall, It is a extremely nice keyboard. I will update my review if I determine to maintain it or if I have any complaints and I return it. Side note: It is quite thin and lightweight. It is extremely compact. Easy for travelling.

Comment:
I have been looking through the market for a great gaming keyboard, and without a doubt, this is it. The keys are rubberized which feel amazing, the backlighting isn't too bright but definitely noticeable. The WSAD lighting is cool, but to be honest I barely switch over unless it's to show it off. The feeling is very comfy, the media control buttons worked well. And like everyone says, when you get it make sure you register and then download the new driver from Razer's website. This keyboard will malfunction if you don't use it.
