Good tiny tester. I've utilised it numerous occasions (since I tend to be the computer system problem solver for friends and family members). Good stocking stuffer also if you have tech-savvy pals. Documenting the 12v2 rail problem would be good, but when you know about it, it's no big deal. Saves time and effort in troubleshooting troubles. Properly worth it.

It looks like it would perform properly.I like the look and really feel of it. Easy to use regardless of limited documentation. Mine had a burnt out yellow/green LED for the three.3v test. The LCD screen worked although and as far as I could inform was precise. RMA'd shortly after. Manual has several engrish grammar issues and is challenging to realize. The firm site sugz as well. I wanted a thing I could use to test utilized PSU's for building as a hobby. I was disappointed with the outcome. I still consider that it's a excellent item for the price tag and I hope the next one particular they send me is completely functional. Bottom line: Obtain it if you don't thoughts the possibility of RMAing newegg (which I do not)

Come with any possible connection you strategy on testing. Works as intended and tells you what is going on voltage wise. Some connection are a bit tricky to plug in or unplug but it operates. I wish it was a bit far more touchy on giving accurate testing, clearly doesn't do load testing but it offers you what you pay for. It operates fantastic.

Comment:
It operates excellent when you figure out what all the readings imply. I tested it with a multimeter, and it seems to be fairly accurate. It also looks really cool when its turned on. The directions are absolute rubbish. For the initial 15 minutes I thought this point was a piece of garbage! For example, the instructions inform you to plug the tester into the PSUs principal power connector before plugging the power supply into the wall. You may possibly assume that this is just some dumb safety rule to maintain you from electrocuting your self, but you'd be incorrect. If you don't do it in the proper order, the tester will say that the PG response is as well slow and that the power supply desires replacing. Do the directions ever state that directly even though? No. You have to figure this out by your self. The directions also by no means mention the the second 12v rail is supplied by a seperate P4/P6/P8 connector. If you don't connect it, the tester will flash and beep at you. You'd think that Rexus could want to mention what that second 12v reading is there for in their directions. But they didn't.

Nice small gem right here. Gave me self-confidence that the power supplies I purchased had been not going to smoke my mobo and attached components. Easy to figure out and use. Plug n play. Tells you correct away what all of the critical voltages are. Employed it to test every single outlet on my modular power supply to assure that no matter what cables I hooked in which position, it was going to be reputable and secure. Minor a single. Mine came with SATA power connector a tad close to one edge and as a result I had to double check I was plugging in appropriately so as not to break something. Once I was happy it was going in correctly, I pushed it on in and functions fine. The snug fit was a tiny close, but as I said, just a minor deal. Recommend finding a single of these for anybody suspecting a poor PSU, or buying a new 1 and want to make sure it works as advertised. Greater to spend ษ on this and know for certain, than to risk potentially smoking hundreds of $ of mobo, vidcards, soundcards, memory, etc. I also like how it measures the response time in milliseconds of the PSU when it begins up.

If you fix your personal computers or others, you should have this tool. Excellent for power supplies that power on but are nevertheless faulty. Accurate, the insructions are worthless but if you're intelligent adequate to change out a power provide, you can figure it out. Every time I had a undesirable power supply, it beeped at me; foolproof.

It performs as advertised and reasonably priced, a ought to have for any technique builder, or Computer repair tech. I use it on two power supplies, 1 thought to be troubled (Coolmax!) and 1 newly purchased (Antec!). The tester works effectively and assist me come to the conclusion that the Coolmax PSU was not stable enough (Too substantially voltage fluxuation), and the Antec PSU voltage level had been solid (No voltage fluxuation). It was not free of charge! Also, do not skimp when it comes to purchasing a power provide! Also, you need to generally do a common voltage test before installing any power supply, low-end or high-finish!

+ Pocket-sized PSU tester+ Gives accurate readings+ In a position to test any *common* PSU connection applied currently - It's not a multimeter, nor is it as correct (which need to not be expected from one particular of these)- Can't test far more than 1 device cable at a time (only main cable, four-pin aux cable, and one more cable ought to be plugged in at any given time, according to specifications) Purchased this to maintain in my mobile toolkit, as a rapid and simple way to test for dead PSU's. This does precisely what I wanted it to. While a paper clip functions just as properly for testing to see if the PSU is totally dead, this little device will be able to tell you if one of your voltage rails is out of spec, or if one particular of your device cables has a short or isn't making a connection appropriately. That getting stated, it is essential to note that it is nowhere near as precise as a multimeter (which I also have in stated toolkit), and testers such as these DO NOT Put ANY LOAD WHATSOEVER on the PSU, so don't expect to be in a position to tell if those reboots or sudden energy-offs are due to insufficient wattage or voltage rail instability by using 1 of these gadgets. That's what the multimeters are for.All in all, even though, I can't argue against any laptop tech getting 1 of these. They are fast and handy for figuring out the most common PSU complications any individual will see, but don't throw out the multimeter.

It functions effectively adequate for me. No challenge encountered so far. The instructions are garbage and impossible to comprehend. In order for this thing to function suitable you have to have both the 24 pin connector and either a P4, P6, or a P8 connector plugged in or it will beeb at you and say your 12V2 is negative. -1 egg for the poor directions. I just purchased this so I could tell wether or not my new power provide which I order with was a dud or not. My be beneficial later on as my present systems age.

I'm not confident if other individuals have come like this but it's strange to me. I haven't employed it yet but I'm going to when I order my new PSU.

Should be useful for testing power supplies? Shows low voltage on each and every 12v v2 tested. This contains 3 operating psu's. Borrowed brother in law's(same model), identical concern. Attached a 20 to 24 pin adapter so 12v v2 is from 12v v1, still tested low. I trust two corsair and an antec psu more than this tester.

Digital display shows actual voltage levels for CPU power connectors (but not for molex/SATA/floppy connectors -- just LEDs for those). Easy to use. Instruction pamphlet is incredibly brief and rather poorly translated. Promptly following receiving this, my geek impulses needed me to go to the nearby parts storeroom and test some of the power supplies there. It gave apparently-right outcomes for all of them, correctly diagnosing different voltage troubles with all the broken ones waiting for recycling. Interestingly, it also caught a difficulty with a new-out-of-the-box power provide; the voltage on the ƳV was swinging wildly amongst 4.eight and five.3 (whereas all the other new power supplies had rock-steady voltages on all lines). The voltage was pretty much under no circumstances leaving the "normal range", so the old power provide tester we had (which only had LEDs) flagged it as "good"; but I absolutely wouldn't have wanted to use that power provide in my Pc. So spending the additional couple of bucks to get the tester with the LCD voltage display appears to have been a very good investment.

accurate, cool looking, and modest/portable with no external wires instructions are useless, readings are confusing until you figure them out on your personal If you can figure issues out on your own, then this could be a valuable tool for you. Otherwise, the time tests and conditioning will be confusing. The voltage is quite effortless to understand in any case.

Operates so very easily. Hook up your plug, and bam, tells you if it's great or not. Wasn't clear in the vague directions, on the power provide testing, that you require to also hook up your 12V four pin motherboard plug along with the 20ቴ pin motherboard power plug to get a reading. Saves pulling the power supply entirely out of your tower. I've had some towers that need a motherboard and misc. drives pulled out just to get power provide out. This just hooks right up and lets you know if you're stuff is passing or not. Massive TIME SAVER this issue is. Also, gets your difficulty-shooting down less complicated. Saves you from swapping power supplies if you assume yours is bad.
