Roland Prelude Portable Keyboard
Cons:Optical ports could be seperate...but there is not enough room in all fairness.

Pros:Sound quality, gold plated connectors, SPDIF can cahnge to optical, comes with optical cable.
Comment:
I replaced a SB live 24-bit with this. I have some crumby Logitech x530 speakers, and the quality difference was immediately apparent.Clearly splits each channel as well. The bundled software is great and easy to use. Worth the money, especially with it on sale for about $140+ in the specials section.Your eardrums will lose their virginity with this sound card.

Pros:SOLID sound quality, works great with games, movies, music creation.

NCIX ROCKS!! Just got it a week ago, item was shipped the next day of my orderering. This was an upgrade from SoundBlaster X-Fi Audigy; man, everything sounds so much better, clear and solid. Took me whole night to setup my Logitech Z-5500 5.1 speakers as the card wasn't detecting rear speakers, I had to Uninstall and re-install drivers for 3 times and play with settings to get all the speakers to work, but once It's done it's worth it, the sound just shakes my room, very cinemetic. I've already tested it with playing music, games, movies with dolby digital surround sound, audio rendering, and the quality has never been so good. It gives you choice of 3 modes, Game, Entertainment, and Music Creation, and I stick to Game mode for anything because everything sounds much better in this mode. Make sure to turn the Crystelizer all the way to MAXIMUM!!!. I'd recommend this card for anyone and for anything, gamer, music lover, music creation, movies. It was a Good investment.

Cons:Mic very weak (drivers)

Pros:Great soundGood priceNot creative
Comment:
To think some people still use onboard sound, this card with good set of speakers (Z5500 for me) will blow you away. This card can really bring a game alive with game mode. Sadly the mic will not work properly, I would like a fix but onboard is just fine. Cant wait to see what they come out with next.

Roland Prelude Portable Keyboard
Cons:Mic doesnt work right (driver problem)

Pros:Amazing card, Good sound, lots of features, X-Fi with EAX support without the bad creative drivers!
Comment:
This card is amazing, nice sound and veyr easy to install, supports EAX and alchemy for surround sound in vista. My big problem wiht it though is the mic is extremly quite, you can crank the mic volume all the way up and you have to yell into it just to make sound. But htis is a driver issue and will be fixed one day. For now I use my on-oard soundcard for my mic.

Roland Prelude Portable Keyboard
Cons:All those extra options and features might actually be too much for someone just looking for a top-quality sound card, VERY pricey, blinking green light may be annoying to some.

Pros:Very powerful card, chock-full of options and features, analog audio is better than expected, swappable OPAmps, gaming mode is absolutely mind-blowing, CRYSTAL CLEAR SOUND.
Comment:
As a music freak and audiophile I am very picky and anal about my sound quality. While Creative's Sound Blaster X-Fi Fatal1ty is impressive, this one honestly and truly makes Creative's own products sound like ISA mono channel sound cards of many moons ago. VERY powerful, crystal clear digital audio and analog audio is far better than expected. This is THE Bentley of sound cards. Get ready to hear EVERY note played in your music. EXCELLENT!!! I love it!!! This review was modfied by poster s 12-29-08 08:07 PM This review was modfied by poster @ 12-29-08 08:50 PM

Pros:Great sound, good price at $124.99 after MIR
Comment:
Just got this card, blows away the onboard i had. I can hear parts of songs now i have never heard before, and its like all my songs are new again. The drivers were super easy to instal, as was the card. The software is easy to use, and there are many options to play with, for those who like to tinker.

Pros:Great sound qualitySupports native X-FIUpgradable OPAMP
Comment:
Great sounding card, much better than any other Creative card including the newly released Titanium. The great thing about this card is that it provides much cleaner sound while fully supporting EAX and hardware acceleration. With the current sale right now, I can see no reason why not to get the Prelude. If your gaming definitely go with the Prelude or get a Xonar.

Roland Prelude Portable Keyboard
Cons:partially a creative product.. damm their limiting of DDL installs (a weekday phone call might let me install it)

Pros: Top quality sound for both gaming and music
Comment:
I upgraded for a Creative Xi-Fi Gamer and could notice a difference in real life sound right away.. still can after messing with drivers and getting my 5.1 to work right. Amazing card to bad creative limits the DDL install.. I had to install like 4 times guess I dont have DDL but that wont matter until I go optical/digital signal.

Pros:Excellent sound, 32bit, 7.1, 64 MB XRAM
Comment:
This is my first external sound card since my SB Live and I am quite impressed. The sound compared to my evga 790i ultra onboard is amazing. It's nice to see EAX support from a non-creative company as well. Although the price is a bit steep, it's not so bad when you consider what a similar creative card with these features would cost you.

Pros:Great sound!Great feature set
Comment:
Bought this for my new surrond sound headphones and it destroyed the onboard sound that I had been using. I can hear things every where when I play games. It's too realistic sometimes! I should have bought this a long time ago. Great purchase even though the price is a little steep but we've all come too accustomed to free crap sound and this card will not stand for it!

Roland Prelude Portable Keyboard
Cons:...price. It's still a Creative chipset. Have to wait for new drivers to unlock cards full potential (creative labs fault though).

Pros:DDL, EAX5. Simply sounds good. Lots of feature packed into one card. Future driver releases promise more features to come. Comes with nice long optical cable.
Comment:
I replaced my SB Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro with this card and within 2 seconds of listening to a .mp3a256kb I was impressed with the sound quality compared to the SB it replaced. I have tried this card in XP32, Vista32, and Vista64 and must say the drivers must have matured since most comments and reviews were written that I have read. I haven't had a problem yet. I just ran the one optical cable to my home theater receiver, enabled DDL in the sound card driver and never looked back.

Pros:Variety of audio connectionsExcellent sound
Comment:
Picked up this sound card to replace my X-FI Xtreme Audio card. I'm quite happy with the upgrade. The only issue I had was that default drivers for Vista 64bit on the CD didn't work and the website didn't have the drivers online. I had to email AuzenTech to get working drivers which took about a day to get.

Roland Prelude Portable Keyboard
Cons:- Still no DTS Drivers at time of writing.

Pros:- DDL Support is amazing- X-Fi Audio Processor- EAX 3,4,5 Support- Best OpenAL implementation (Hardware)
Comment:
I bought this card for $158.88CDN from NCIX.com. I am extremely impressed with this card. I simply removed both my Xonar D2X and X-Fi Fatal1ty and replace them with this card. There's no reason to own any of the other two cards. The Auzentech does everything the others can (save for DTS which is coming) in a single package. Using the ability ti turn OpenAL and EAX calls into a Dolby Digital Live! stream is amazing. I actually am better able to hear the positioning of enemies around me in COD4. Music sounds about the same as before since I am still using the DDL interface I did with the Xonar (which means using the Z5500's Decoders). All in all VERY satisafied. Thank you NCIX.com.

Cons:Drivers not WHQL qualified (if that matters). Not the cheapest card by price but you get what you pay for. Latest drivers not compatible with TeamSpeak.

Pros:Absolutely superb sound. Far superior to Creative Xi-Fi.
Comment:
An excellent sound card. Upgraded from Creative Xi-Fi Gamer. The quality of sound is awesome. A significant improvement over my older card. Well worth the price. Driver upgrades break the card when using TeamSpeak. Had to go back to earliest drivers to restore functionality. Drivers are complex to uninstall. Auzen needs to work on the driver package. Driver download is also password protected and available to registered users only. This review was modfied by poster @ 07-23-08 04:36 AM

Cons:Software install is a mess. The windows STOP mesage for unsigned driver is hidden. The opamps shipped are mediocre BUT they can be upgraded.

Pros:44.1 pass through with no resmple.Decoding of multichannel is good.Excellent build quality, high quality componentns throughout.
Comment:
I recently burned 2500 CDs to FLAC lossless format. I have a top of the line Denon 3910 universal player and was skeptical about PC sound. FLAC is the recipe. The problems I encountered was that until the Preulde 7.1 none of the sound cards did what I wanted. Most did digital out at 48K (the stupid MS WMA sample rate) and believe me there was a huge difference between my reference player and the sound cards. The Prelude 7.1 is perfect with PCM 2 channel at 44.1K. I have some DVD Audio that I am converting over to my media server and the few tracks I have are awesome. The 5.1 decoders are good. On the weak side the onboard 2 channel analog outputs are typical PC style - sound OK on small equipmemt but put it on some good gear and they suck to put it mildly. i guess this is why they offer upgrades to some components.

Picked this card up to replace a Soundblaster Live which was starting to make static and crackling noise. Plugged him into a Yamaha receiver with 6-1/2" two-way monitors and 10" sub in a 4.1 config. The sound quality is excellent for a pci based card, and the difference between it and the Soundblaster is quite substantial. Drivers seem to be a work in progress, the latest RC5-1 from the Auzen website work good for me on WinXP though without any issues. Not sure about the mic problems some are having, mine seems to work fine.

Totally worth the money. I changed my sound card and WOW what a difference it made. I have a set of Logitech Z-2300 speakers plugged into it and wow, it's awesome. I'm going to get the Z-5500 and see how it does. I know the Z-5500 isn't the best 5.1 system, but it's awesome for its price. I would recommend this for anyone. It blows everything away!

Cons:heatsink was not seated properly, sort of seems quite flimsy. Driver probelms (get them from internet only, not the disc it comes with).

Pros:some pretty cool options, good clear sound, comes with optical cable
Comment:
I really cant come to a conclusion right away but from what i have seen so far it is not worth the huge price tag... escpecially so since the sound card that came with the asus maximus formula was just a bit worse. For some reason windows xp 32 doesnt really work very well with this card, every time i reboot my pc it asks if i would like to install drivers for the card even though i have already installed the bloody things. I have also got 2 bsod since installing the card, and everything on my pc is running slower now and causing lock ups...if it wasnt for that then it would get 4 stars (not 5 because of price for what you get) however because of the many problems it deserves a 3

I read the reviews and checked out the specs from their website.I returned my CL Xtreme gamer sounblaster and bought the Prelude. And it did not dissapoint.I thought Creative X-FI's were the best. Not any more.As soon as you take it out of the box,you can see this is a very high quality sound card.Heavy, gold plated inputs, optical and coaxial ports.High fidelity opamp's and swappable.High quality parts and Creative's X-Fi technology for around$200,need i say more. And when i first installed it,it brought my Klipsch 2.1's to ear ringing levels.123DB's!!
