It's low-cost. The picture is whitewashed, and the mic picks up so small audio that it can be unsuitable for skype. I spent a tiny bit additional on a name brand camera for my house machine, and the difference in picture and audio quality is night and day. With how long these camera's are expected to last, is it really worth skimping to get this low quality of a camera? I would say no, and if I had the opportunity once more, I'd go with a more high-priced webcam.

Price. Good size. Microphone. Video is quite blurry, slow, and delayed. Audio is muddled. I have a Microsoft VX-3000 connected to the exact same computer. I'm switching among them in oovoo. The VX-3000 offers a much sharper, nearly no-lag video stream, whilst this Rosewill is substantially inferior. They are nearly the same cost. I guess I have to give credit for the microphone in the Rosewill, although.I also have a Logictech USB Desktop Microphone to use with the VX-3000, and it provides considerably far better audio. So there are a lot superior top quality solutions obtainable, but at the expense of integration and value, I guess.

Affordable. Good design. Flexible, looks great, fits well. Rosewill typically tends to make outstanding items. Hmm. Well, for Mac users it will work, but there is no included computer software. The good quality is significantly worse than the built-in iSight Camera, but this is to be expected maybe, the device was incredibly affordable on sale.That getting said, the video high quality was beneath my modest expectations. The white balance, auto electronic exposure, and obtain left substantially to be desired. You'll need a fantastic deal of light for this one particular.I gotta give it two stars. I truly like Rosewill stuff, and numerous of there other goods exceeded my expectations. I expected the camera to perform at least as nicely as the cam on my netbook, but no dice. Incredibly affordable. Decent excellent video in well lit circumsatnces. Works nicely for Skype, which is what I purchased it for. Also functions on PS3 (Except for Aquatopia which apparently only functions with the PSEYE) Can also work as a microphone for PS3 gaming if you want.1.3MP stills, a bit less high quality than my cellphone camera but still look decent. Framerate drops to 15fps and looks jerky in low light mode. Excellent "bang for the buck" webcam.

Straightforward to set up and use out of the box. Acceptable video and audio quality. Works with USB 1.1 and 2.. None for me. This camera is mainly being applied with Skype video. I'd get it again.

Smaller Plug and played perfect on windows 7Works fantastic to see my son when I'm awayClips on top of lcd monitor Cord on the shorter side.Picture not as clear, sharp, or quickly as my built in laptop cam.The clip doesn't hold tight, but works It's not the greatest cam in the world but for the price it's good. I can't generally be home with my babies so obtaining them this for xmas is the next best thing.

Great no frills camera, I required to use it with my LMCE Household automation program. The camera was detected and I was able to set it up from the gui. The blue active light was too vibrant and I couldn't turn it off so I pry'd open the camera and clipped one of the LED's. Nothing actually

Does what I want it to do. Plug and play in windows 7. Sound and video functions for Skype and MSN. Extra functions integrated in driver but I only necessary it for simple video chat. Sound a little low but thats typical for low priced webcams with built in mics. The clip connecting webcam and monitor is flimsy/loose. Want to continuously adjust it. Great for value

Functions in Linux, utilizes the UVC driver which is in all recent kernels, so its plug-and-go. Functions in Skype. The quality is greater than a ำ Logitech Quickcam I bought practically exactly a year ago. None. I took it apart to remove the IR filter, but I couldn't come across it. Following I put it back together, I noticed that the IR response was actually extremely good. Either it doesn't come with the filter or it fell out and I didn't notice. I can't comment on the framerate.The 1280x1024 is the actual sensor geometry; I was able to verify this by querying the UVC driver.I didn't test the microphone or the button. However, I don't see a hole for the microphone, so I don't know how it could pickup something.The cable is about four.five' long, plenty lengthy adequate for most setups. The cable is thick, much thicker than the one on my Quickcam. Both the cable and camera really feel sturdy.

Appears like a decent small camera... Not sure if it's the camera's fault, so I'm becoming gentle here....the video is freezing and I've exhausted my skills in an effort to fix the issue.... I see similar problems across the board regarding freezing video with webcams, but I'm not seeing too many fixes....I'm running a Pentium 4 CPU 3.0GHz with 4GB RAM and a 9600 Radeon video card with plenty of harddrive space, and anything, such as drivers and bios is present. Any assist out there?

Very clear picture.Uncomplicated to set up.Recognized by each XP and Linux. Exposure compensation isn't as rapid as I would like it to be. It lags about 1.five - 2 seconds. I'm confident I only noticed mainly because I was testing it close to an open window and clouds were rolling by. In steady light it shouldn't matter. I got in on sale so it was properly worth the price.

Functions out of the box with Skype on Ubuntu 10.04. You just need to set the video source properly to this camera. The picture is a small grainy, but I didn't spend 贄 on this, so... Not a bad choice for a 'get the job accomplished' camera. The price is great and I would venture to say that it performs a lot far better than some other ฤ cameras out there.

-Affordable-1280 x 1024 resolution is good, but...-Decent audio high quality (I believe?) -15 fps @ 1280 x 1024 makes it unusable for all practical purposes-Lots of video noise-Auto exposure sets the exposure level too bright commonly, which also results in:-Choppy performance unless exposure isn't set too high-Sad excuse for a user interface Where are USB three. webcams? This is virtually not worth the money even though it's low-cost. I'd advocate spending a bit additional for a greater webcam unless you feel you'll hardly ever use this sucker. I use it on a daily fundamental, and I am disappointed.

Inexpensive... I reviewed a lot of cameras and was nervous about spending 贄 so I bought this. It does standard video so I guess it will do the job. four out of 5 simply because of the low price.~ Light to indicate that its on~ "Instant on" button on leading~ Attaches to the leading of the monitor or just lay it on the desk.~ Mic~ Not poor in low light, truly the auto mode works far better in low light.~ Neat video effects that I almost certainly will never ever use. Lower quality than expected. Mic doesn't choose up incredibly properly - most likely since it's 2'-3' away on best of the monitor, but theres nowhere else to put it.The easiest thing to compare this to is = CELL Phone Good quality; appears to be the identical excellent of my laptop cam. In all reality I don't use web cams significantly at all, so the couple of instances I do this will work fine; if I spent 贄 I would of had a nice camera that just collects dust most of the time. ~ The front two buttons don't do something, and pushing on them breaks them loose...~ The lens has a manual adjustable focus~ Easy install on Windows 7 64bit.

Just works on Windows. No drivers for Linux 64 bit. I have Ubuntu 9.04 64 bit. Installed Skype. Cam on Skype works, but in zoomed-in mode. Microphone does not function on Ubuntu 64 bit I got it for 20 bucks on newegg

Really inexpensive. Black Friday unique had this properly in the "stocking stuffer" price range. It works fine in linux. Immediately picked up as a uvcvideo device in Ubuntu 10.10. Image is decent, much more than sufficient for Skype or other video chat. Not high resolution, but it is not attempting to be. Makes use of about 15% of a cpu on my core 2 P9400.
