Works Good in Ubuntu 9.04 and 9.10 32bit versions out of the box in Cheese. I have two of these and use them with Skype. Picuture and Mic are wonderful. Could use a longer USB cable. For skype to work with microphone set up "pavucontrol" and unlock the left and suitable volume settigns for the mic on the input tab.

Cheap! - uPnP operates as advertised. Plugged it in - Windows 7 located it and it works with no drivers! Operates equally properly with Linux distributions from SuSE, Ubuntu and Fedora! Low-cost - got it on sale for an old XP - Pentium computer. It works. So I can't complain. None I've constantly had fantastic luck with Rosewill solutions. All very good and low cost.

The price! FPS is kinda low if you move about a lot, but for skyping it functions decent (for the price) if you're trying to make a video of anything, like a video review, undoubtedly don't get this. The cord is kinda short and the way it hinges onto the monitor doesn't genuinely function the greatest. I just wanted it to record myself playing guitar (don't laugh), so it does the job.

For all intents and purposes it is and was meant to be a reside web cam so my girlfriend could watch our fish when she gets residence sick and video chat when I'm residence. It does each fine, if not exceptional for the cost. I don't see something wrong with the MIC like the other people. I have tested it 36 feet away and I nevertheless can record fine. This micro is in a position to hear noise extremely properly. This cam has good good quality and specifications for the value. I chose it primarily based on comparing its specs with other folks in the cost variety and was pleased with the result. Performs plug and play with Vista64. There does seem to be a bit of lag but this could be caused by a conflicting driver or anything. It is not very noticeable through video chat. The application integrated is incredibly standard and a bit buggy for me but completely unnecessary. I haven't figured out how to get the face tracking that is pointed out in the specs to operate.

functions very good. i dont use the built in mic. had some issues the initially day, but they got fixed fast i dont use the built in mic, i use a headset. from what i fully grasp, the built in one particular sucks.

Though this does not come about on the built-in cams from laptops. also the video good quality of this is worse than these built-in cams. I believe i purchased a 2001 item?? i was hoping to get a low-cost cam just as excellent as my laptops' cam but i was wrong.
