Does what is told for the most aspect. The only, and greatest dilemma, is that the USB connects that you plug into the laptop or computer are connected to the VGA cable quite closely. This tends to make it impossible to hook them into some laptops without a USB port. Which is the purpose I bought it in the initial place. Excellent if your going to use two desktops but if your going to use a laptop program accordingly. If your VGA output and your USB ports are on different sides of your device this won't function properly.

I have not attempted however. I have not attempted however. I just received this item and wanted to make a rapid post even before trying it. On the description above it says that it can manage up to four computers. Now that I have the item I realized it can only manage two by design. I came back right here and clicking on the item specification, I noticed it says it can manage only two.So, the description and the specification are not matching and it can be misleading to other users.Other than that, rapidly delivery! I don't be concerned, I am not retuning it, I only have two computers :)I will post another assessment right after I use it for some time. Thanks!

Incredibly easy to setup. I thought switching back and forth would take a second, I was wrong it is instant. In Windows 7 it does not make you "reinstall" your mouse and keyboard drivers. The button to switch really feel low-cost. Not truly a con but I would of preferred a heftier switch. This factor has produced operating 2 PCs, on one monitor easy. My setup doesn't require me to even have a switch, I just became lazy to have to hook up a monitor to my server if RDC does not work.

Never ever had a need to have for a KVM switch, but when we relocated to new offices I identified myself trying to perform out the layout problem -- how to fit two Pc's into one small space as efficiently as possible. This tiny thing -- as easy as it is -- amazes me just about every time I hit the tiny remote button.Permits you to use a keyboard, mouse and monitor with two machines, and all you require to do is hit 1 tiny button. This thing could die on me sometime soon soon after I finish writing this critique, but for now, it's amazing and worth every single penny. And slick ;-) I had to do the setup myself -- it didn't magically connect every little thing on its own. Great concept, and wonderful implementation. I think Rosewill stuff is coming about to the larger end of the QC spectrum, and this is a excellent instance of a excellent, nicely-priced product that serves a quite beneficial objective and does so with a minimal of fuss. And I nonetheless get off, even immediately after a month or so, of how hitting that tiny button allows me to switch involving my server and a single of the office client Pc's. Neato bandito ;-)

Low cost- ease of set up - USB - remote switching for two computers on 1 monitor worked for a couple of weeks - lol Right after a few weeks the KVM switch is now showing lines across the screen on one particular monitor though on 2pc setting and will not switch more than keyboard and mouse with out have to switch back and forth a couple of occasions. For the price tag I guess it is what I expected, but I would want it to final longer? Guess I will be calling in a warranty RMA

Value - got it for fifteen DELIVERED can't go incorrect as extended as it operates and this one particular does - Not negative to appear at - remote switch so it can be beneath or behind a desk - DOES JUST WHAT IT Should works excellent ( so far lol ) cable length is fine - about 3 foot for video plus about 1 foot for USB out of that. No degradation of video at all - Was not free of charge??? no cons for the switch...Folks providing this switch bad ratings for their ignorance. I read evaluations here when folks complain about how it requires a handful of seconds for the USB to switch?? nicely THAT IS Regular Each TIME YOU UNPLUG OR PLUG IN A DEVICE . That is just what happens when a KVM switches machines it is Actually unplugging from one machine to the other so there will be a slight 2-three second delay. If you are receiving a longer delay try a Faster MACHINE it is not the switches fault... Study WHAT IS Truly CAUSING YOUR Issues Before YOU BLAME IT ON THIS SWITCH This is a excellent USB KVM I bought TWO just in case of challenges but none so far. Utilizing these with Linux is hit and miss as to regardless of whether it will function but that is not the KVM switches fault that is OS issues. Hope it lasts a extended time

I liked the operation fine- I could have 1 monitor and 1 keyboard and one particular mouse to run either my windows machine or my Ubuntu machine. But right after about 5 days, the keyboard stopped working for either machine. (yes, the KB did perform for either machine when I plugged it in straight.) I am returning it for replacement - hopefully the next one will continue to operate. lot of bother

-Cheap-Compact-Switch will allow for single-keystroke screen switch -Restricted resolution-No keystroke option for screen switching-No audio-No USB ports We have about a dozen of these deployed with great outcomes. Using double-sided foam or tape to adhere the switch to the keyboard close to the numpad works excellent.

I didn't see any reviews about this device operating with a wireless mouse and keyboard so right here it is.I have a Logitech MK320 (Sweet & cheap ) mouse and keyboard wireless keyboard combo, that has a single USB receiver. Hooked up the KMV to both my laptop and desktop to my Acer 20" monitor. Both recognized it promptly, and totally functional. I am content so far! As other customers have said, the KMV cables are sort of short, but manageable. Delay from when I push the remote (cabled) switch button to when I can see on the monitor and use my mouse and keyboard is about 2.5 second delay... I can manage that.

Cheap, functions nicely even with a USB hub inline. Cables are a small brief, no audio connectors. Best cost on a KVM I have observed so I figured I'd give it a attempt. The unit looks a tiny flimsy and the cables need to be about a foot longer to make it a bit far more versatile. Unlike other far far more costly models this has no audio pass via but contemplating the financial savings it's a minor issue. I have used a USB hub to let additional connections and it operates nicely but adds almost a min to peripheral detection. Numerous far a lot more costly KVMs I have attempted will not perform properly with a hub. Overall I'd suggest this to anyone on a price range looking for a fundamental KVM.

Really handy, updated USB device help (coming from a PS2 KVM), price is brilliant. The hard switch to go back & forth is foreign to me. All KVM switches i've used had been of the form where the user pressed a essential combo to go back and forth. This is the initial i've seen with a physical switch. this is great mainly because my other KVM can shed the KB or mouse upon switching; they appear to be nonetheless "attached" to the other personal computer. after that takes place, i wasn't in a position to go back through the key combo. so i would say the physical switch is a pro, even although i'm not utilised to it. as others have said, the cables are extremely brief. i use my KVM switch in a troubleshooting capacity. i hook up broken computers to it so i can use the online on the other machine attached to the KVM switch. the short cable on this switch has mandated that i move the computer system i'm repairing closer to the switch, which wasn't hassle-free. newer mobos are leaving the PS2 connections behind, so this was a great, albeit needed, upgrade. i still have my other KVM switch handy for repairing older machines.i didn't read via the manual yet, but i doubt this has an autoswitch function like some KVM switches where the switch automatically toggles between machines.

It does the job incredibly competently and for a reasonable cost. As other individuals have noted, the cables are brief. I have each server and dev machine as close to the end of my desk as I can get them. But the length of the cables implies that the telltales aren't particularly visible. That's not an problem for me because Windows and freeBSD are visually distinctive on the monitor, but for an individual running the similar o/s on each machines, it could be an inconvenience or even an opportunity to make a severe mistake.I was surprised to learn that the huge silver region with the telltales on major of the physique of the thing was only a decoration, not a pushbutton as I expected from the photographs.Apparently the kvm simply switches out the mouse and keyboard without having substituting dummy loads to keep the abandoned o/s pleased. So when freeBSD is operating in text mode, it dutifully reports the kbd and mouse becoming disconnected and reconnected each and every time. The packaging is pricey (long ago I got my living as a commercial artist carrying out packaging, so I'm sensitive to its A KVM is essentially just ganged switches. The engineering is nicely-understood, and the boards are not specifically complex to style or manufacture, specifically at reduce port count. So individuals should be wary of any kvm that's expensive or gets far more than handful of percent of their ratings beneath "good". Lengthy warranties are critical, but they shouldn't be utilised as a substitute for higher good quality. My perception is that a lot of Rosewill merchandise are generics that they private-label. Perhaps all of them are. But unlike other vendors, they appear to do their personal QA and filter out units that shouldn't have escaped the factory. This kvm is a case in point. Putting their expenses into longer cables rather than the present retail-showcase packaging, and possibly adding dummy loads to hold Unices happier :-), are about the only items I can think of that would improve itNow if only they'd provide a four-port version.

Simple operation. I like the manual switch. It would have been good to have a hot-important switch also. The cables are a bit short as nicely. It would have been significantly much better if it handled sound as well. All in all I'm satisfied. But I'd genuinely like to to hand my sound connection as well. But the tiny manual switch keeps all the cables out of the way.l

VGA cable handles complete 1080p just fine on my LCD-Tv! Cables are a tiny as well short for my liking. Also, the 2 USB ports on this device dont usually want to work ideal with things other than keyboard/mouse (such as attempting to plug in Mass Storage devices) I bought this for my most important 32" LCD Tv in my residing space that only has 1 VGA port on it. I have this KVM hooked up to my media server full time, with the other port accessable to the front of the entertainment center for when I was to temporarily hook up yet another device (such as my laptop). Just before the KVM, I would have to physically switch cables about. This thing is a good time saver!

Great KVM switch, no problems. I'm making use of it with a Windows XP machine and my Ubuntu server. I can see what the other reviewer is speaking about with the blurry screens, but it was so insignificant that I really believed it was my imagination when I installed it... huh, interesting that a person else noted the identical factor even though. It wasn't noticeable sufficient in my case to be worth losing a star over even though.
