For some - protective situation does not accommodate cables Aluminum panels dissipate heat properly. Blue power/activity light on rear of unit. Heavy duty protective case looks qualified & has magnetic closure; much better than most. Require for Y-cable depends on what drive you stuff inside and the good quality of power delivered by host. Two WD 'blue' drives I tried operate with single power source on a assortment of gear.

Low cost, quickly processing/shipping. Operates well, decent transfer speeds. Construction is a bit inexpensive but that's to be expected for the price tag. It's hit-or-miss whether or not the drive will run off a single USB port or if you'll need to have to plug the second in. Works fine off a single port on my MacBook, but often it will require each ports when I use it with my desktop.

Low price and does what its supposed to do. If you want better you'll pay more. This product costs and looks cheap but is very uncomplicated to put together and use. I suggest it to anyone that doesn't want to spend alot for some thing it does as well as the a lot more costly merchandise. Cheap construction. You get what you spend for. Shouldn't be a issue if you're not dropping it or throwing it about. You shouldn't be undertaking that with a tricky drive anyways. Not even a far more pricey product could shield from that.

Works good when I figure out my complications. Read the instructions two or 3 times. The directions are on 1 sheet of paper. If you side the cover on and it is incredibly tough, cease you didn't put it together proper. I put the screws via the Pc board, incorrect put the screws by means of both the plastic tray and the Computer board. The case has a pouch that included but the pouch has no room for the cable. I produced mistakes putting this together. I hope you can find out from my blunders.

I've had this considering that Novemeber 2009 and It's operates just fine. It comes with everything you need to have to get began. I did not utilised the CD that came with it. I replaced my laptop HD so I placed the old 250GB drive inside it and employed it as an external drive to back up my files. I just pug-and-play. None seen. It does what it says

Works actually well! Shipping time was very fast Ɠ days), and the packaging was extremely properly performed. The enclosure looks a lot nicer than in the item description picture. The carrying pouch that comes with it is genuinely nice also. Excellent quality. Nothing at all so far! I was expecting to be a small disappointed due to the fact the item and shipping costed much less than 20$. But ultimately I'm glad I decided to buy it.

- Very lightweight and smaller- No AC power required- Rapid Install 2.5" drive was a small tiny for it Ideal for what I needed. Replaced my laptops HD with an SSD, place the laptop's 500 GB platter in this enclosure. The enclosure's interior was about 1ǚ" also lengthy for the drive which caused it to wiggle around inside. The enclosure contained some lightweight firm packing foam inside it. I cut a 1ǚ" strip of this off and stuck it in the enclosure to stabilize the drive. No more wiggle :-). Without AC power, the enclosure desires two of my three USB ports :-(. Could attempt just plugging into a single port and see if it still functions.

Sleek, slim, and lightweight, it holds my 250GB HDD and runs it like a champ! Whisper quiet with a built in power supply for a from time to time tough-to-begin drive makes it even far better! And the carrying case lends a expert appear and added protection for travel which is a definite plus. The leather carrying case does not have a pocket for the cord. Other than that, none. Installation was a bit hairy at first but when I looked it over I figured it out and got everything sorted. Now I can use the HDD I purchased as an upgrade for my final personal computer (the install failed...) as an external drive to shop and move data from location to place without having to set up my laptop.

low cost, easy to install, fast to get into, the board and ports are sturdy I've seen a lot more stylish methods to get in and out of the case. I really feel like these wouldn't handle a lot abuse, but I HAVEN'T HAD A FAILURE Yet. I use these for old 5400rpm drives that I pull from laptops. At that speed, USB two. is not an concern. I would not use these on 7200 drives - what is the point?

neat style, very nice cover furnished, USB 2 is fairly universal. directions had been clear enough to figure out. a bit above most chinglish. Applied to clone a bigger drive to replace in a laptop it did in fact work w/ a 7200 rpm drive despite the fact that the included directions stated it only goes to 5400 rpm. a bit tight fit on the drives I have applied w/ it. a WD 320 and the older sanyo 120 are each all it will accept in height. the design does need handling of the internal electric card to some extent. This appears to develop a location to zap by way of static and so I would caution about suitable handling becoming necessary in regards to static discharge.

Solid construction, case, Y-cable, rapid installation. Wish the protective case had area to carry the Y-cable as nicely. Even though it did not state support for drives greater than 250GB, I placed a 500GB Seagate drive and it's been fantastic. Rosewill products have been a wonderful value. Quite pleased.

An economical enclosure that tends to make it less complicated to recovery data from SATA laptop tough disks! USB Y-cable is a minor annoyance, and may possibly slightly push away from some USB slots if loose. Documentation indicates it functions with "up to 250GB" drives, but this has not been a problem for me but. This product is a superior worth, in particular when on sale. I don't know the maximum size hard disk this will Seriously accept!

This is my fourth unit -- I replace each and every laptop challenging drive I get with a 7200 RPM drive and use the original drive as a backup. Takes less than five minutes assemble, has a sleek look and performs flawlessly. Glossy surface can show finger prints -- but that is what paper towels are for.

This HDD enclosure is best, down ideal perfect. It comes with a USB cable that has two ends on it, but you only want to use the 1. If you have an additional Mini USB cable like I did, like from a camera or a PSP, you can use that and it will work just fine. I would assume that some devices, will not have enough power from 1 port, so that's why they included a double ended cable, but as for a Wii and xbox 360, they power it just fine, as well has the USB hub on the front of my pc. I am employing mine with a 500GB Seagate HDD. I have it in two partitions, one in NTFS, for added data storage on my pc, and the other as a WBFS, for my Wii, to play backed up games from it. Blue power LED is a small on the vivid side, and the activity light isn't correct, it acts like a flash drive, it just blinks when the HDD is becoming accessed. I plan on acquiring 3 far more of these. 1 for my Wife, Mother, and a second one for myself, so I don't will need to partition it for my Wii.

Fantastic Design. Straightforward to install HDD On the box it says 9.5mm Tough Drives. Mine is 12 or so. It won't fit. New Egg please add HDD thickness in the specs. I did not even know HDD's came in diverse thicknesses.
