I like the truth Newegg makes buying with confidence so simple. Thank You. This HD 6970 is powerfull, it plays something you throw at it. The new feature known as Morphological Anti-Aliasing when enabled sucks your graphics card performance. The HD 6970 can easily deal with this but you will have to fine tune other settings to make this feasible. If you had a CrossfireX setup no problem, jack every thing to MAX with Morphological Anti-Aliasing. Totally NONE!!! It's Huge, Potent, Super Extended. Just make confident your case can fit this infant in it. It also holds a single of the best Price tag/Performance for a Videocard. Ought to acquire even far more performance throughput following two to 3 driver releases.------Speedy Morphological Anti-Aliasing insite------Following every single frame is rendered generally and just before the image is displayed that is exactly where MAA kicks in which is a single reason why it sucks efficiency away by as substantially as 30% in most situations.

Runs incredibly cool @ idle due to downclocking (unless you have far more than one particular display). -Makes a loud buzzing noise under any 3d load which can be heard from across the room. A lot of other owners i've talked to are reporting the very same issue.-Runs really hot below load dependent on the game but not uncommon to see it close to 100c if fan is left on automobile. -Lack of good driver help, this card was released before even having an official driver.-Overall performance is not worth the price tag tag. FPS for BFBC2 dips into the 30's when running in dx11. Starcraft two there is some kind of issue with force enabling AA with this card simply because the FPS goes into single digits. Largest problem is the buzzing noise. You are undoubtedly not going to want this card in your system.

Excellent card, simple to install drivers, and so on. The card is substantial, and can burn hot if your tower is old and has poor air circulation like mine. Good card and have enjoyed the upgrade. Runs every single game I have on the highest resolution and graphics with no troubles.

Just about every game I've tried operates and looks good! Temps are a bit high in my program. 37c-41c idle and load is anywhere from 50c-80c depending on the game and the graphic settings. I love the card I just wish the temps were lower. This is my first time not using an Nvidia card considering that my Diamond Viper II I owned long ago lol. Given that then I've had Nvidia Geforce FX 5700 Ultra, 6800GT, and 8800GT. I am running three 28" monitors @ 5760x1200 in eyefinity with this card, and it does incredibly well. 1st I bought 1 and was completely satisfied with the performance. I was a tiny hesitant to upgrade from my HD 4870X2, for I didnt know if it would make enough distinction. I sold my 4870X2 and 2nd system and ordered a 6970 and 2 much more 28" monitors. This card performed with 3 monitors running at 5760x1200 as well as the 4870X2 operating only one monitor at 1920x1200! I liked the card so a lot I decided to get one more 1 and run crossfire for future proof. The cards scale very effectively also. None Like individuals have stated, the card is huge. I didnt have a dilemma due to significant tower. But if your operating a smaller tower, may possibly want to check out dimensions. With two HD6970's and my Q9550 @ 3913mhz, I 3DMark06 @ 23,649

Beats the Pny 580 GTX I took back to the store and for about 134 dollars less and that's without overclocking. I'm nevertheless operating benchmarks. But Sandra 2011 Shows it as the fastest card on the list. The GTX 580 was about 10% slower than the 5870 I utilised to have. The card appears to be longer than the 5870 and that was 12 inches, this seems more like 13. I'm not a fanboy. I just use the videocard with the greatest bang for the buck. Got to really like the video card wars. My card is actually a diamond 6970 card. But the spects are the similar. And as video driver mature it will be even better.

Went from a x1650 pro to this. A 4850 would have been a big upgrade for me, but this is a transformation. I largely play Rift correct now and it runs it on high settings. Lengthy as hell. Make confident to get a significant adequate situation. You will need it. I may possibly just get another a single of these later on and not have to be concerned about upgrading for a incredibly long time.

Ran Mafia at avg 40 fps with all settings maxed. Crashed many times though playing Crysis. This thing will call for custom cooling for intense gaming. I had this factor in the Cooler Master Storm Sniper situation which has a lot of fans and airflow and nevertheless in temps were acquiring up to the 90-90c range frequently. Rma'd it for the PowerColor PCS+ AX6970 which so far has had the max temp of 63c.

This is a good get. Value/Performance is off the charts. Overclocks simply with catalyst control center and runs all present games maxed out. Even though the 580 is a tiny bit more rapidly it does not justify the extra 150 dollars. Powertune feature is good for power efficiency and keeps the card nice and quiet when not gaming/running benchmarks. Nitpicking really,Fan is a bit loud when the card is beneath stress, you can manually customize it though. The Card is gargantuan. Seriously big. Make positive you have a full size tower to residence this beast or a top quality mid-tower situation or it merely will not fit. This was my first substantial order with Newegg. I previously applied a Canadian competitor but right after employing Newegg I can see why they say you can in no way go back. Quick shipping, cheap prices and good buyer service. Make mine Newegg!

Upgraded to this 6970 from a 3-yr-old Radeon HD 4870 1GB that was also produced by Sapphire. It worked wonders (and is still a working, amazing video card), and so far this 6970 does as well. It runs every little thing I want to play on ultra settings with solid, if not exceptional frame rates. The power connectors are mounted facing the side (toward the door of the situation) instead of facing front intake! It a lot more than created up for the further length of the 6970 since you just about Usually have more space among the card and the door/window! My old 4870 had power connections facing the front of the case and with a Mid ATX situation it bothered me that I had to wedge the power cables in odd angles. Not a challenge any longer!Packaging was performed properly, extremely thick/durable anti-static bag protecting the card inside the box.Existing develop:AMD R6970 2GBASUS Crosshair IV FormulaAMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition4GB X 2 Ripjaws 1600 7-8-7-24WD 150GB 10,000rpm Velociraptor HDD750W power supply The card is large, possibly 2 inches longer than my old 4870, but I knew when purchasing how massive it would be (it's in the specs lol), so this is much less of a con and far more of a warning to buyers with Mid ATX instances. Measure the amount of space you have in your situation and compare it to the offered measurements in the specs for this card to make certain you've got sufficient room. Also, recall the power connectors are side-facing so you don't have to worry about the "extra length" the power cables will add to the actual installation. The only other con (which is truly widespread with a lot of unique video cards these days) is that the default fan settings don't appear to improve past ㅖ% full fan speed, so even if the card gets up around 70C (which is the highest I saw it soon after hours of gaming making use of the "default" fan settings) the fan is nonetheless running at around 30% it's maximum. To remedy this I downloaded MSI Afterburner which lets you set a temp/fan speed "curve" - must have! The power connectors (one 6-pin and one particular 8-pin) are a little unusual to me (my 4870 was 6-pinǜ-pin) so the card came with a molex adapter for each plugs (which are essential) which was fairly cool from Sapphire. I didn't will need them, but please make sure your power provide is beefy sufficient to assistance this card. With this create I scored in the high four,000 range with 3DMark11 with no overclocking. Incredibly solid score for not working with a Crossfire configuration or possessing a SSD.I totally recommend a complete tower ATX case when making use of a card this size. I bought a CoolerMaster HAF-X and situation temps are awesome with stock fans.

Great GPU, great performance. Operating 1920x1080.Currently matched with a E8400ǚGB DDR2, will be upgrading this week to a i7-2600K and 8GB DDR3. Even with the E8400 I've noticed a large improve in gaming performance, notably in BFBC2 and in COD:Blops.Cool. With 70% Fanspeed it only hits about 50c beneath load. Fan is extremely loud at 100%. I measured 73dB at the spot where I sit.

The package arrived yesterday, earlier than I expected (from my previous comment). Installed devoid of difficulties, I just had to clear the cmos on my MB to make it work. Installed the Catalyst ten.12a and began testing. Efficiency is a very good step up from the 5850, noise and temperature are comparable. None so far The card is enormous, make positive you have the space in the situation, fantastic ventilation and a very good PSU with eight pins pcie connector. Don't even contemplate the 69xx cards if you are still running Windows XP.

Excellent specifications and overall performance improvements. It's about five% quicker than my 5870 and the drivers are no where near optimal performance. Runs quiet and fan isn't excessively loud. I like the 2GB video memory. Leading power connections are significantly less difficult to access. As opposed to my Asus 5870, I like how the 6970 are completely sealed, so you don't have to be concerned about touching any electrical elements on the card itself. Large card. Make confident case and power provide are adequate. First card was defective. It powered up but driver consistenly failed with black or green-striped screens. Have to give three stars here. Thankfully, Newegg made the return encounter substantially greater with an advance replacement and paid return shipping. Kudos.

Properly, after substantial video card study, I've settled on Radeon HD 6970 over GTX5@#. Since, primarily I like the Eyefinity the AMD/ATI gives compared to Nvidia's 3D thingy. Also less power consumption and cost 贶 much less. I seriously wanted Radeon 6990 for x-mas, the dual GPU of 6970's...replacement for the 5970 model...which is nonetheless a leading dog...it's really a ƒx 5850's), but sad to say, wouldn't be prepared till...hopefully soon. Anyway, I just ordered mine...we'll see what all this raving is about. don't know yet... I'm currently running two (Sapphire 2GB vapor-x 4870) in x-fire mode...both overclocked utilizing Riva tuner to 822񳀮 as opposed to native 750묜. However, I'm stuck at DX 9C-10.1...this two cards񢶆) in x-fire, been real fantastic to me...will play any games out there at max 񢈀x1200), but don't assistance DX11 that's why I had to let my babies go. I'll come back and give my genuine evaluation later...I just ordered...Radeon HD 6970. Yeah, can't wait, I also ordered two sata3 ssd's, it's gonna be my raid0 replacment of two 10k 300GB raptor drives in raid0.

Read the specs - this card has a SL-DVI and a DL-DVI. To run @ 2560x1600 you have to have DL - HDMI 1.four only goes up to 1920x1200 also so to get all 3 you will have to have two Powered Mini DP to DVI and then the third DVI That you say you know whats up but cant read specs

Runs all games with wonderful fps incredibly smooth. Ive been sticking with ATI on the basis that the price to performance is far better than nvidea also the cards commonly for me run a lot cooler. I have in no way had to be concerned about tempsBut with this card it runs very hot about 70-80c with case temp about 22-23c 50% fan speed any higher and its way to loud I was planning on getting an additional card for xfire but i am to worried about how high the temps would get. Must have waited for a vaporx version to come out.

Excellent performance, reasonable noise. Was about a 90% improvement over my 4870 1GB. Always ran warm (idle at 58* ramp to 88* below complete load) even though I didn't overclock it at all (common from lots of evaluations I read from other users), but I was running 2 monitors and had read the drivers weren't great for throttling back memory speeds with 2 monitors. Last night it gave up the ghost, made a popping sound and quit working. And this is with just an average of about 1 hour of gaming a day. Just RMA's this morning, hopefully newegg will approach it quickly simply because going back to by 4870 leaves me wanting :-) Assuming I get a replacement speedily (not positive if newegg cross ships or not - haven't had to return anything to them in years) and it doesn't have any problems I am still preparing on crossfiring a pair to drive my 30" and 24" setup. As I stated, loved the performance...
