Space for 2 three.5 drives. Depth is great for my cabinet. The way the drives install is a bit hokey. Overall its a wonderful case. Came with 3 big fans and its pretty quiet.

Great depth so that it fits on entertainment center shelves. This is the most significant resason to obtain this situation.Quiet fans that supply decent air flow. Fan filters on all fans and the PSU intake.Minimalistic aestheticsRubber mounts for the tough drives. Some cable tie mounts and cable ties for cable management. Some PSU's key power cord will get in the way of the single fan on the side. I had to get rid of my fan, put in the PSU, and reinstall the fan to make my PSU fit.The tricky drive that sits above the PSU will only get cooling if you spot the PSU fan facing up. I attempted placing the PSU facing down (sucking air up via the bottom psu grill/filter) and the second tough drive got unnervingly hot.Fan filters are on the inside of the situation and are impossible to take away once everything is installed. The PSU filter is the exception, that a single is on the outside and can be removed with a screwdriver for cleaning.Only supports CPU coolers less than 70mm in height with the optical drive installed.Supports only two tricky drives. But I don't know exactly where they could have stashed a third mount in such a tight space.GPU cards don't get a lot fresh air, specially if you have other expansion cards installed. This area will quickly be the hottest element of the case if you have a devoted GPU. This is a tiny situation, so items are a small tight. Undoubtedly save space if you can in terms of elements. Absolutely use a modular PSU mainly because cable management is currently really challenging due to the tight space.

I like the clean basic look of this situation. Absolutely nothing fancy. Foe me the most important aspect of a HT situation is the noise level. With this case it is acceptable. The three- 80mm fans run slow and quiet. It has 1 on the left and two on the appropriate. All three are set to exhaust air out of the situation. Because I had a tiny ITX MoBo working with the integrated video card I decided to unplug the single fan on the left. The situation is keeping cool sufficient with just two fans. In a quiet room you can hear a slight whooshing. But with it has to be a quiet room. With the Television on, you can't hear something coming from the situation. The build excellent is very good. Every thing fits with each other nicely. Unlike some of the other evaluations, my Thermaltake ToughPower power provide fit in nicely. It would be nice to have speed controls for the fans and a false front door to hide the optical disc. But, this is a low priced case.

1. Good cooling with the 3 120mm fans. Every little thing is cool in the case. I have no heat coming from the CPU and restricted heat from the GPU card.two. ㅄinch depth will allow it to fit most media cabinets and looks excellent subsequent to a A/V reciever3. Excellent construct and sexy searching. Uncomplicated.4. Very good space for smaller box. Simple to install stuff 1. 3 fans = some noise. Mainly because there is so considerably airflow, you can hear a dull "whooshing" sound. Will consider of turning off one particular of the fans.2. Have no Blu-ray/DVD player but the moment placed in you only have 70mm for CPU heatsink/fan. I have the Core i5 CPU and the stock fan fits properly and is quiet...thank goodness Make positive that your power provide is less than 160mm in depth. Something bigger may possibly call for removing a single of the 120mm fan and replacing it with a 80mm fan.So content that I found this case that fit into my cabinet. Tough to find. Did I mention it requires full height cards:-)

Good situation for the income! Solid construction. There is space for almost everything you need in a HTPC. As long as you leave sufficient room about the situation for fresh air intake and exhaust the Ɠ) included 12cm fans are much more than sufficient cooling. None really. I would have preferred a more subdued power/notification LED but thats private preference. A couple of factors to mention... This is a HTPC case. That means that you ought to anticipate to be constructing with low profile elements. With an optical drive installed you are restricted to 70mm of clearance for CPU cooling. I am working with the Scythe Massive Shuriken on a Gigabyte GA-MA785GM-US2H MB with no blocking any of the RAM slots. The Ɠ) fans included in with the situation are set as intake fans. You can add ƒ) more 80cm fans on the rear to help with exhaust but I haven't had any troubles without them so far. With the stock situation fans and the Big Shuriken none of my internal temps have risen above 55c whilst 'archiving' a Blu-Ray DVD. This is the issue correct right here. This case is so good searching, in particular for the stuff it comes with. You get three large 120mm heavy wind, silent fans. I am using this for a HTPC with a stock AMD cooler and them 120mm fans move a lot I imply a lot of wind. Very silent, sleek hunting HTPC situation. For as soon as, considering that the days of Mt. Kilimanjaro, somebody has built a gorgeous HTPC situation! Excellent for Micro ATX board. Manze I am glad I got this case!! none, nada, hakuna!!! Wonderful develop, almost everything fit appropriate in, a tiny heavy but case will fit really very very properly with your other entertainment gizmo. It will hold your CPU, memory card and graphics synthesizer card cool. It will take complete size graphic cards plus all other expansion choices you could have! Men and women...THIS Situation ROCKS!!!!

SILVERSTONE Black Aluminum/0.8mm SECC Grandia GD05B Micro ATX HTPC Case
Comment:
General the situation is attractive and well designed. The three huge, filtered, quiet fans move a lot more than sufficient air even when turned down a bit. Silverstone's 'positive air pressure' design is some thing I've often emulated on my own; hopefully it catches on more with OEMs. It's absolutely the way to go. The tricky drive grommet spacing is such that the heaviest portion of the drive 'hangs off' of the center of gravity, which compresses the grommets, minimizing their effectiveness at damping vibrations and also prevents the drive from hanging level. The front fascia is textured PLASTIC. No element of the front fascia is brushed aluminum, contrary to what I was led to believe from the item description. The five-1ǚ" bay cover does not fold down or snap onto the drive tray, it ought to be removed for a drive, which causes an aesthetic inconsistency. The fan energy wires are not sheathed nor are their jackets bonded together. I had to use a significant quantity of my personal modest zip-ties to clean them up. I couldn't get any of the rubber ties it comes with for wire management to truly work. They come apart on their personal when wrapped about issues. If you want to use more than 1 difficult drive, you will either require a modular PSU or know how to safely cut back energy wires that you know you won't need. All negatives aside, this situation was a pleasure to create with. I seriously only knocked a single egg for the plastic front fascia and five-1ǚ bay issues, which are each aesthetic. If you're searching at this situation, I'd advocate you get the GD04B while they're nevertheless about for the objective of having the 5-1ǚ bay drive absolutely hidden except for a disk tray when ejected.

Fits stock cooler for AMD Phenom II quad core. Just some info for HTPC builders, believed you might like that bit. Fits two HDD, full size optical drive, complete size PSU in smallest case I could locate. Fantastic build top quality, appear. Watch out for a stripped screw thread if you use a energy screwdriver like I did....ooops. Then get larger screw and install in stripped hole, just study to tighten by hand last bit of turn.

This is a great seeking case for HTPC with lots of room for common-sized elements. Unlike quite a few other HTPC cases, it does not demand a slim optical drive. Includes three QUIET fans for good air circulation. Extremely helpful instruction manual.Installed a Gigabyte GA-H55-UD2H MB and stock intel heatsink, and the I/O shield and all add-in cards lined up appropriately. Contains wide tie-down straps and has plenty of space for added power provide cabling in the front-left corner.Front panel reset and energy buttons function nicely and don't really feel as well flimsy. The style of the front panel jacks could be greater. Activity on the USB anyplace in the program bleeds into the Front Panel Audio jacks and can be heard when listening on headphones plugged into the FP audio. I consider this is due to them sharing a single Pc board (the 2 Audio plugs are in between the two USB plugs). Unplugging the FP USB plugs from the motherboard eliminated the noise. So, you get quiet FP audio or FP USB! This could be a deal breaker for you but I don't really feel I will need the FP jacks considerably anyway. The person wires for every Fan cable had been not twisted together. No big deal but I took me a though to twist 3 fan cables together. The back panel is a bit flimsy and I had a hard time installing the i/o shield without bending the case. But once the top rated help bracket is reinstalled, it aligned up ok. For the duration of Motherboard installation, I had to install one of the included standoffs to the chassis and it took some time attempting to get the height correct. I had to add spacers under it so the motherboard did not flex when the screws had been tightened down. The manual recommends standard cleaning of the fan dust filters and initially I thought this would be tough, due to the fact access to the bottom filter screws inside the case is blocked by the motherboard. BUT the manual explained that you can easily get rid of the fans from the outside which should aid. I may possibly just attempt to blow them out without removing them but the filter mesh is so fine that it may not function. The three fans all blow into the case. The fans on the right blow air across the DIMMs and the single left fan cools the tough drive.

Extremely uncomplicated & top quality searching HTPC case that compliments the entertainment center perfectly. Aluminium face plate. Low-light blue LED. 3x dimpled-120mm-cooling fans. Rubber: HDD mounts & case feet. The construct was painless for the most portion. Cable tie downs are anchored to the case for wire management which was good to develop a clear path of airflow. The fans had been overkill for my 95W CPU and on-board video. I removed the dust screens from the fans since the box has so many vents currently that I felt dust becoming in the box was inevitable. I also removed a single of the fans altogether. There was some noise reduction devoid of the screens and the additional fan. I have streamed HD content material on the net, watched Blu-ray, and DVD cooling is not an concern, nor is sound. Very quiet and very sexy on the shelf. I had important problems with static shock being conducted via the button assembly on the case to the motherboard, which would brief out the motherboard. This was a surprise simply because the switch assembly is entirely insulated with plastic. Even so, I tested and tested and tested some far more and the existing was being conducted via the plastic to brief out the Mobo sending it into reset. I referred to as the telephone number left by Joel on a evaluation right here and he swiftly sent out a replacement switch cost-free.This didn't fix the problem. I ended up manually grounding the aluminum face plate to the case. I brushed the paint off the backside of the face plate close to a screw and attached a wire from the screw to a PCI-slot screw. This solved the static shock issue all together. The cooling fan for the CPU sits proper below the mount for your CD-ROM with extremely small head space. I utilised a Scythe SCSK-1100 100mm Shuriken Rev. B three Heat Pipes CPU Cooler. Pretty roomy for an HTPC case, fit my space Sapphire 4890 card no dilemma. The case is pretty quiet, I had to replace my entertainment center since the case is as well wide for the side fans to operate properly in a common width entertainment center.Case has rubber mounts for the HDD, but not the optical drive or exactly where the PSU meets the case. Not a massive deal, and my PSU (Cooler Master Silent Pro 600) had its personal rubber mounts. Not a con because I knew what I was shopping for, but a front three.5" bay for a card reader would have been nice.

This is a extremely well created and developed case. No sharp edges, clean no frills look. The three included fans are fairly quiet but given that I built a extremely low power HTPC, I was able to slow them down making use of 7 vdc ྫྷ-5) and they became totally quiet and nevertheless provided lots of air flow. I actually liked the solution of utilizing a typical sized PSU, DVD and HDs and the truth that the case is ᝽" deep - it truly fits on a media cabinet shelve. It was a bit tight getting the 2nd 3.five" HD mounted more than the power provide and it was missing two HD vibration isolation grommets Ɩ were included). Each minor troubles. I knew what I was buying but nonetheless, this is a big (tall) case for a micro-ATX HTPC but then, that is why it can assistance common sized components. There is not a lot of wasted space. I extremely advise this case.

The very best thing about this case is the depth. It was developed to fit a rack like other audio components instead of a tower case laid on its side. Lots of room inside for components and I could recycle an existing complete size power provide with no complications. Cooling fans are mainly quiet but can be replaced if they are too loud. General, good case for a great price tag. This isn't genuinely a con but you require to make confident your CPU heatsink and fan doesn't exceed ㅹmm in height if you strategy on installing a drive in the five.25" slot. I had to order a new CPU cooler as my old one was too tall. Not a large deal and well worth the hassle to have a case with lowered depth. Also, the fans may well be a tiny too loud for some individuals. This is a incredibly good no frills HTPC case. Create excellent is very good and it does exactly what I needed it to do (i.e. fit into my Tv stand). It also looks very good and blends in nicely with my other audio/video components.

Initial case with abundant features that is less than 13 (or even 15) inches deep. It fit my EVGA GTX 470 with space to spare (could have popped in an additional, and will most likely pop in a XFX HD 5850 later this week). It's tight, but that's what you'd anticipate. It's nicely created and believed out. I have not been this satisfied with a case since the Antec Sonata I. I believe this to be the greatest shallow-depth case out there, so I'm not going to complain too considerably. On the other hand, it would be nice if it had been a small wider with room for a lot more hard drives, 4 or far more. Don't fully grasp why we can't get circumstances that are less than 13" deep and up to 22" wide. Would have plenty of room for four or far more tough drives, 2 5.25" external drives, card readers, and lots of USB and other ports on the front, and still fit on many shelves. Whilst I'm ranting, why can't we fit a full-size ATX case in a 13" x 22" x 6" case? It's only 9.6" x 12" for goodness sake. 1 x LG Black 10X Blu-ray Burnertwo x SAMSUNG Spinpoint F4 HD204UI 2TB Tough Drive1 x SILVERSTONE Grandia Series GD05B Case1 x EVGA GeForce GTX 470 Video Cardfour x CORSAIR XMS3 4GB 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 13331 x MSI 890GXM-G65 AM3 AMD 890GX Mother Board1 x CORSAIR CMPSU-750TX 750W PSU1 x AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition Deneb three.4GHz

Was in a position to fix the noise issue on the front audio jack as reported in my tenቭ evaluation. The fix is to SEPARATE THE GROUNDS for the USB and Audio ground connections. This rework of the board need to not be required. Most individuals will not bother. 1. Unplug the connectors from the motherboard.two. Get rid of the two screws holding the board to the front panel and slide it back out of the grooves.3. cut the copper traces on the printed circuit board in order to isolate the ground for the Audio and the USB connectors. I utilized a Dremel moto tool with a grinding wheel to carefully grind off the traces / ground mesh. This takes a bit of preparing. It assists to have an ohmeter handy to make confident you get them all. You have to make cuts on both sides of the board, and it will be necessary to add a jumper from 1 of the USB plug grounds to the other one, and from the audio header plug ground to the Audio jacks on the board. I soldered the jumpers on the bottom.4. Reinstall the board and enjoy quiet audio and front panel connectors the way it need to be.
