All modular, appears pretty Died just before I could finish loading Win7 I've had failures across all brands, no biggie. Went with Antec TPQ-1200 rather.

Peaks at 1700W in my test bed and remarkable energy regulation. None If your operating a heavy rig with numerous high end gpu's and overclocked i7 this is worth each and every penny in sanity against voltage ripple and fluctuation

Incredibly stable unit, outstanding contruction. Put it on various scopes to check for fluctuation across rails and discovered no substantial spikes or drops -- tested under 4 CPU and two GPU loads with lots of mode switching, rock solid. None. I had a PC Power and Cooling 1000 Watt unit prior, but I was getting random power shutdowns/reboots and I know it was NOT software program connected nor my overclocked settings. I run a QX9770 four core @ 4Ghz + 4GB RAM 1600Mhz bus with two ATI 5870's and an Creative Labs X-Fi Elite and 3 Intel 160GB SSD drives on Windows 7. Replaced the PC Power and Cooling 1000 Watt unit with this 1500 Watt Silverstone and shutdown/reboot challenges have gone away.

I like this business. They get back to you when you have issues and this unit is a beast built for power the desires of significant users. I didn't get two of the second support AC power plugs on mine (second was a different GPU plug) and am questioning if an individual is confused or tired in assembly. Initially note to all buyer is to double check that you have Three AC PLUGS! They are on spec although, I double checked. Second note relates to the size of the beast. On a Lian Li PC-P80, you ought to either install it upside down or eliminate the fan grate. I don't suggest removing the fan grate, was assured by manufacturer upside down is OK for unit installation. Do not reinstall inside case if you do as installation angle pushes grate inward toward the fan. However, the unit did fail for me at a important moment in my construct and it did this with out having all 3 AC plug ins; it just had the two I got. Your experience might vary. I just want to reaffirm to clients that it does appear to be quite important to make sure you get each eight pin plugs on heavy duty builds. I don't fault the business. Just double check. The only other thing I will say is that I did miss having an OFF/ON switch as I was operating with it. Down the line I hope they will look at fixing this as it does get to be a discomfort constantly getting to bend more than to pull the plug out of the wall...

Nicely built extremely thick cables Silverstone will not warranty this unit soon after 1 of the cables shorted out. I will stick to Corsair from now on and in no way acquire a different product from Silverstone.

seems to handle almost everything though my sunbeam 6 fan 30 watt contol only runs at half speed...Ran at full speed with CM 1100... I truly don't recognize why they show the I/O turn off switch...It is easy to unplug but it shows it even in the dirrections plus the 115롴 which each are not there...I really prefer that switch and almost certainly would not have purchased if I knew it wasn't there.. SS can get in touch with me but I only have this one supply and they will need to send me another and shipping to send this back...That would be excellent SS support if they have what they advertise. Lets see if they stand behind there stuff considering that they did advertise this with the switch...I will leave an additional feedback as to what they do...Will they stand up and do the SS thing that I know they have in them..... Manufacturer Response:Thank you extremely much for buying a SilverStone. The ST1500 has two user manuals, the very first one is devoted to ST1500 with detail electrical specification while the second one is a common purpose instruction on how to install a energy provide into a laptop or computer. We include the second manual in all of our energy provide models so it will also show models with energy and voltage switch. Please check once more that at no time do we advertise the ST1500 to have power switch either on Newegg or on our site. The ST1500 is 1 of the very best consumer power supplies in the globe with its high efficiency and electrical efficiency. Given that it has a 3 years warranty, please give it a attempt for at least a couple of month, you will likely uncover it to be a lot more stable and consume less energy than your prior energy supplies.

I had gave a 3 egg review prior to due to the fact of the no switch in back.. I still feel this must have one mostly due to the fact it has every thing else....bottom line: it's the greatest PSU I ever used can't hook up every thing that it comes with..You have to be selective about what is most critical... The strongest i have ever seen..PERIOD

Took the plunge and upgraded to GTX580 SLI with an HX1000 already in place. System would shut down periodically under load and I had to underclock my CPU and Video Cards to get any type of stability. Tired of continually second guessing climate or not I have sufficient power for upgrades such as video cards, I elected to buy a power supply that had excellent evaluations and huge capacity and this fit the bill. As soon as I installed this unit, those difficulties disappeared and my method is rock solid once again. It is an fantastic power supply that looks excellent in any pc case with a window and will allow ample room for expansion in the future. It is also very quiet. It is nice to know that I can throw just about anything into my program now with power to spare. The cabling could use some work. For a product that is targeted at enthusiasts, Silverstone has included a floppy connector on just about every modular 4pin molex cable which is a lot more or less useless these days. They have also labeled over half of the cables with stick on labels which I can't see the demographic for this product having a will need for. I cut my labels off and it cleaned up the look of the cables in my case. The final gripe here is the length among connectors - I can live with it, but would prefer a shorter distance. For those of you griping about no power switch.....I say really? Just unplug the power cord and you're good to go.

Has a wide variety of cabling options and I had no port unused in this create. I was really pleased with the power this factor produces as I am relying on the 80% of 1500w 񡼰w) to run four-GTX 285's (OC'd), a Core i7 Extreme Ɣ.1Ghz At present), 2 water pumps, 15 fans, two DVD drives, 6 HDD's, Dual Cold Cathode Lights, etc. This factor handles them all effectively. The 8-Pin CPU Power cables were 2" too brief to run from the bottom of the Corsair 800D Case to the mobo, so I had to get extenders (which were wired wrong - causing me grief until I got it fixed). This is not a "CON" but I will say it is Huge and you had greater have a case worthy to residence this massive boy! Runs my rig like it was meant to be here! Lots of power, had no difficulty Over Clocking with 2xgt480's and i7 920 at 4.two. Every thing is water cooled. 9 months later, 2 pins short on the 24 pin module, pastic even melted. Motherboard also got burnt but still runs flawlessly(Asus WS Revolution). Thankfully I had my old corsair psu. No far more OCing for now but i'll wait for the 1155's to do anything new anyway. Hopefully i can get an RMA, but it doesn't appear like it according to other post with comparable issues.

Corsair HX1000 so I picked this poor boy up and wow. 1st off HATS OFF to NEWEGG!!! I bought the PSU yesterday at 230PST and I received it the subsequent day at 330PST. And that was with 3 days ground...Now to the PSU: Quiet, lots of power, Perhaps a 3rd GTX 480 in my future? Definately have room to grow and once again very pleased as this bad boy so far is performing just like everybody else stated. My Rig:i7 920 @ 4.2GhzEVGA X58 ClassifiedDual FTX 480's SC SliAntec 12002 loop water cooling techniqueand a bit additional Only downside is the Modular cables have very little flex in it. Made cable management a small toough, but absolutely nothing else. 100% ModularCables on the thick sidefar more power to grow (I can't wait)Tech Support in Tiawan???

Cons: too many stickers on it, kinda huge, cables a little too long

Pros: long cables, tons of power, looks good,
Comment:
Great psu, I ran out of power on my HX850, so I went with this. I love it, tons of power, great cable lengths, big and heavy. The cables are so long might be a problem in smaller cases (but who would use this big of a psu in a small case?). PSU itself is massive, and again might not fit in some cases, but again who would have a small case with this?silent, and cool, great psu
